Man, i really hope one day we find the other Parade cutscenes from the trailer, like the amazing shot where Blinkers flew over the ghostbusters as they look up to see him
Here's a good one for you - this game takes place in 1991. "Rookie" and "Other Rookie" are, say, 26-28. They'd be 59-61 now. Start a new game series with one or both Rookies handing over their franchise to The Players in the time frame of post-AL/FE. Just wholecloth six new Busters. Each one has different stats that make an actual difference in the gameplay. Make it 1-4 player Co-Op, with two stuck as AI Partners (for single player, give the player the choice which one of the Playable Four gets to come with). The AI Partners would be senior Franchise members that are looking to retire as well. Wholecloth a new story. This was supposed to be the San Jose branch. There's a LOOOOOT of potential here, with either taking existing American legends, Native American legends, and adding in another Shandor-like person that wants to take control of this and rule the world/have eternal life/etc. Perhaps a mad scientist that just wanted to know entirely too much about the wrong things. Perhaps even throw in the RGB Lore that Pierre Eiffel was a primitive Ghostbuster, or perhaps Emperor Norton was, or something like that. Stay Puft could make an appearance ("One destructor form per dimension") with the actual root cause person currently working to bring about disaster, calling on Gozer directly as a distraction, just because they _know how,_ and use it to throw GBSJ off the trail. Bringing back some of the game elements of '09, one of the focuses is that the ghostly aides of the Antagonist can continually possess people without their knowledge, and often use them to impede or misdirect the Team, until they come up with a good MacGuffin specifically to root that out. In terms of game play, I would like to see a return to the basic buy-in system used here, but expanded. As in, certain weapons are given to you as part of the game, you research improvements (efficiency, attack power, indirect buff - each weapon gets all three of these). Some gear is optional (improved suit as seen in one of the old GB1 games, improved trap, improved health regen, improved PKE/Goggles). Some is purely cosmetic (GB2 Film Cover suits, RGB color suits, light bar arrangement on vehicle, etc.). As for making it a series, simply make the save files cross-compatible and the games all released in one console generation. Each new game would have some different things in it, but some things would carry over and you can KEEP the improvements you made in previous games (and the cutscenes can even make mention of this), as well as your cosmetics, while adding more. Like, Game 1 has the Stasis Beam and it's the only one that uses it, while Game 2 uses a specifically altered Slime Thrower, and Game 3 uses an improved basic stream not available in the previous two (and then, the RGB cartoon can be farmed for tech ideas, like Venkman's Sunlight/Microwave Beam specifically for 'drying out' slime, etc.). A series of 3 games should be possible if the same Engine and most of the same Assets are used all three times. Development time should be fairly short if each new Game builds off the accrued Assets and Code from the previous.
I can tell these were from before the Activision acquisition where they shelved the game. They managed to save the game by going to Atari, but that allowed Rainmaker - Who made the cutscenes - extra time to polish the scenes and even cut some of the stuff. The joke about New York's seedy past in New Jersey was beautiful. They should have kept that. That and Mulligan's pimp hat. They needed to keep that, too.
@@Under_And_Over_It I wish they would have remastered the Wii version for the switch at least. I had fun with that version. I couldn't really get into the other versions.
Wish they could redo the whole game with better graphics and those added cutsceans and add the parade level and really work on the multi-player levels because they were fun. These cutscenes made it feel more cinematic.
Yep. I wonder how much of the dialog was recorded for the parade level, and if there was any other levels planned that got dialog? THAT would be worthy of a remaster title. Of course, if there isn't any from Harold Ramis, don't use AI or anything to recreate his voice; see if you can get the gang back together if needed (probably Dan and Ernie will do it gladly), but don't AI Egon.
2:09 Egon lying on the hood of Ecto-1 like some kind of model. 🤣 Surprised it wasn't Venkman. 12:04 Hoss sees that big ghost before anybody else. Really cool that they gave him a personality without him ever having to say a word.
"We eat Gods for breakfast!" Love that line from Egon. It's interesting to see Shandor was banished from our dimension instead of exterminated like in the final version. He was pushed back through a portal in this instead of exploding.
With that ending it could make this game still canon to the movies (supposedly they made this game non canon after the release of after but it could still very well fit into the canon with just some tweaks to the story of the game and movie)
Still best ghostbusters game, the remaster version also missed one big feature that I loved, the sixaixs move controls on ps3 version where you had to tilt the controller to control a ghost into a trap it was a small edition, but i really missed it in the new version.
Whoa I love the first version of the final architect boss as a marble god with a hex-like halo behind its head @ 16:53. I always thought the design they used was too much of a stock-demon/devil. He wanted to be a god, and it's a more interesting Ghostbusters villain as a Zeus-like figure.
This form was in the concept art menu in the game, there was text that said “intentionally godlike” and “egotism” showing how shandor wanted to become a god and even looked more like a god than Gozer. It’s a shame they cut it, he really did look like a proper deity even Azetlors first concept has similar and more godlike.
Did y'all get any gameplay footage of these prototype builds? I'd love to see earlier versions of the game in action! Either way, thanks for uploading these cutscenes!
I will always have a massive love for this game, but even I’m impressed with what was cut. Based on the cutscenes alone, I think this was originally intended to be a full on remaster with reworked cutscenes, voices, and even an extra level as indicated by the parade cutscenes. I’d kill to see the original remastered version in its full glory!
I love the fact that in the clips of the Ghostbusters video game I like the part when the Ghostbusters fight new ghosts and how the ghost take possession of people and turn them into a ghost fighting machine, nice seeing the Ghostbusters video game again with new battles with ghosts. 👻🚫😁👍🏻

I wish the parade was still part of the game and not a deleted level. It would have been so cool capturing ghosts at a parade and capturing and fighting against possessed parade balloons.
Still wondering why they closed the ps3 server for the multiplayer... Had sooo much fun playing that. I understand we have the new gb game but let the people enjoy the best ghostbusters videogame ever made!
The feeling when this game was released... And it was a great game, despite this and that. And maybe the best online experience compared to other games; teamwork, and without cheats or players fighting; there was a reason for an online membership: It was legit fun. People even played so new players could unlock all of their online achievements. A whole night could easily stay on that game. Going solo was also immersive. There were some strong parts in this. A couple cuts I understand because the VO didn’t turn out well, but they are great for the most part. I feel the ending scene was better here.
Honestly, I wish they would've reworked a few things instead of the story we got. Because they cut the parade, Mayor Shandor's line now takes place in the museum, but they didn't cut the line about the parade, which makes no sense. Because they cut anything involving Ilyssa being possessed, Venkman's line about her eyes "glowing like hot coals" now makes no sense, either. And with Peck never being possessed, nothing explains why Egon's PKE went off when he was scanning Peck, nor why he was chained up at the Cemetery, so that also makes no sense. And in other news, Alyssa Milano just really seems uninterested in her role as Ilyssa. They constantly reused the voice clip of her shouting "Venkman! Help!" in the museum, and even again at the end (cutting out "Help!"), and she just sounds bored.
Beautiful content! A video game that I loved and still love like many fans! 😃👻🚫 It's just a shame that a part where you could drive the Ecto-1B wasn't included.
