Hello Chris, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and feedback on our DJI Pocket 3. It's great to know that it has met and even exceeded your expectations. We hope you continue to enjoy using it and have a wonderful time ahead. Have a fantastic day!
dji please add a telephoto lens to the pocket, as at the moment it has a wide angle, can you do different telephoto ones aswell, rarther then a digital zoom? thanks!
You’re the first vlogger I’ve seen show it mounted and remote controlled from your phone. Controlling it from inside your car while mounted outside was pretty cool. Didn’t know it could do that. Another awesome feature
I spent a week at that hotel 15 years ago. It’s a country house and all the food and fish that you eat comes right from that area. Monkeys were sometimes scary when they run straight at you but always entertaining. I happen to be there in early November and the colors were changing in all the foliage. And then on my third night there, it snowed and it was pure magic. Thanks for bringing back the memory.
I bought one for a recent trip to NYC and tbh at first I wasn’t totally impressed, and was considering returning it… but it was when reviewing the footage that i was blown away with the quality and how I could edit the image afterward… well worth the investment
Living your best life man! So cool to see a Lumix vs DJI comparison in Japan too. I’ll be there in May so now I’m hyped to shoot. Also happy to see a non-sponsored version of the DJI products. 🙌🏼
Great video! And this is the most extremem weather conditions I have seen this camera used in so far. Nearly every other video expressed hesitancy in using it in such conditions. Great to see!
Love this style man. Also, this camera is my new Go-to. I have a few 4k cameras with super nice lenses etc...but something about this camera makes me just WANT to use it. Fits in my pocket, long battery life, great great quality (under most conditions), slow mo, 4k 60, live streaming, auto sync mics. The list goes on. If you are a creator, you should get this.
My Japanese friend who lives in Nagano brought me to this place back in 2016. How magical it was. Thanks for sharing, footage looks great! I had my Canon 70-300 with me, so worth it indeed!
i've recently seen a disassembly and i no longer have any worries about that screen rotation assembly. as long as you don't pull on it upwards (easy to do if you squeeze the included half-case too hard while taking the camera out) it probably will outlast the rest of the mechanisms. battery replacement doesn't seem too bad either, comparable to the average smartphone (have to be very careful but easy enough to be done once or twice a decade). your friend is a floating head, hands, and pants with no torso. i'd be careful having anything expensive in my hands around monkeys, they're grabby little bastards, incredibly fast, and lack any concept of private property. also a tip about any pocket: you can put it down in almost any orientation and the camera module is still straight and level. make sure the rotating parts hang out forwards, otherwise it messes up the onboard audio with the gimbal parts brushing against something. this means you no longer need to carry a tripod for a shot that looks like a tripod shot. you may even hang it on a branch with the lanyard, and if it's not windy, that's a tripod shot right there. try it! you can put it on a book or a backpack or even a folded t shirt. it's actually more stable than with a mini tripod, as in less susceptible to be knocked over. this is an entirely unique feature of any gimbal stabilised automatically levelled camera like the pocket 1-2-3, etc.
I have an issue with non-replaceable batteries in products, effectively turning them into e-waste once the battery reaches the end of its life. This planned obsolescence is an environmental disaster. Companies should not be allowed to manufacture products without removable batteries. Unfortunately, this practice is becoming more common (think Apple Air Pods, DJI Mic, etc.), yet it seems to go unnoticed. Influencers like you should use your platform to pressure corporations to be more respectful of the environment and their customers in general. Planned obsolescence is a disservice to consumers and our planet. WDYT?
Tbf they’re replaceable, just not “easily” replaceable. Much like how replacing the battery on a smartphone can be done, but requires carefully opening the device.
Can’t believe you were visiting my hometown, stopping by the 711 nearby, talking the same root to Iizuna and Togakushi, and my loving place Jigoku dani. Hope you will visit sometime👍
I just bought one a couple of weeks ago too, cos I chanced on one that was in stock. Loving it so far and enjoying giving some videography a go with it. Enjoyed the video - took me bac to my time living in Asia.
Nice scenes of Japan. Hotsprings are the best! I live in Osaka and ditched my heavy Canon DSLR and lenses for a Sony ZV-1 along with an Insta360 X4 - I find the ZV-1 and X4 make a versatile and lightweight combo for hiking and temple viewing. And yet I can’t help but think I should have a DJI OP3 too…
I had the first and they're great for vlogging. I used it a little for recruiting videos too when i saw some players and I sent my head coach some footage.
I got the first one then upgraded to the second one. I really felt let down from the first to the second so not sure if I should even think of upgrading AGAIN! Great video Chris!
Hey Chris, do you happen to remember what was the lowest temperature when you were filming this? I'm wondering how it performs in low temperature environment compared to GoPro for example.
Loved the OG Pocket but it died on me out of nowhere mid-trip a few years back Booked a trip to Utah next month though and could see this being the perfect compliment. Thanks for the demonstration of this awesome tool in a beautiful place!
Hey bro, firstly amazing video by the way I was hooked all the way through and was just as excited as you when the snow monkeys showed up aha, but I just have a quick question, as the pocket 3 is not weather sealed how did it handle such extreme conditions with the snow, did you notice any crashes? Sudden battery drops or struggling to use the touch screen? This info would be so useful thank you in advance🙏🏾
Great video! I've been watching many videos of Pocket 3 reviews, and this is the best video. I liked your sample footage and creativity! So, I just ordered a Pocket 3! Great trip to see the snow monkey and the beautiful countryside. The only thing that bothered me was you used Chinese music for the background in Japan 😂😂
The OSMO Pocket 3 Totally Rocks ! 👍 BTW, that was great footage of the Snow Monkeys !👌I really like the the DJI Mic 2 performance as well. I had no idea from watching all the videos on UA-cam of the Creative Combo for the OP3 just how tiny a device the little included wireless MIC actually is until you're holding it in your hand. The DJI Mic 2 is really a very tiny device ! The Mic 2 is also a very smooth surface covered device, and it's really easy to have the Mic accidentally slip out of your hands and drop to the ground. I've almost dropped this little Mic two times in the last month since I purchased the DJI OP3 Combo Kit. I'm amazed at the improvements with the OSMO Pocket 3 as well. As an owner of the OG OSMO Pocket, I am glad DJI upgraded version three to have the wireless transmitter capabilities built into the camera body itself instead of it being an add on accessory, like it was with the OG OSMO Pocket. I also appreciate the update to the internal battery capacity. Including an extra add on battery with the Combo Kit was a great idea. I can now shoot time-lapse sequences up to 5 hours continuously without running out of battery power in one shoot. 👍I also like the fact DJI upgraded the output resolution of time-lapse movies from only 1080p in the OSMO Pocket 1 and 2 to 4K in version 3. 👌The only negative I can see is I think the lens on the OG OSMO Pocket was slightly sharper, with better contrast and less distortion than on version 3's lens. Depending on what you're shooting, there is a slight bit more barrel distortion in the image out of the OP3 than with the OP 1 or 2. You won't see this on landscapes so much, but it does become more noticeable on urban landscapes, where straight lines and 90 degree edges appear to lean inward slightly toward the outer edges of the frame.
The Fuji and the Dji pocket have something in common… travel cameras. 📸. People are loving the small form factors for portability but want something better than a phone camera
I’ve been a fan since my pocket 2. I foolishly sold it for the insta360 x 3. Big mistake, the visuals on the pocket system are way better. I rather sacrifice reframing for a better quality image.
Nice to see you back making content, and awesome content it is! I’d love one of those for my videos, hopefully one day! Maybe the pocket 4 by the time I can! 😂
The pocket 1 and 2 were heavily talked about so no surprise the 3 is popular. They gave them out like candy to UA-camr reviewers. Still using my pocket 1 with extension selfie rod. Very useful as it has all the controls on the rod handle. Not sure why they didn't release one yet for pocket3. Japan is so pretty! =)
Welcome to the game Chris. 😂. The OP3 has been incredibly useful for me. I’m rocking multiple S5 II for Events, it I’m grabbing the OSMO Pocket 3 at times without even thinking 😅
2 minutes into this video and I've said ohhh that's so pretty about 5 times! Incredible views in this one, thank you! I want to go to Japan even more now!
HI, Chris. I am really thinking about which shoud I buy Osmo pocket 2 or 3. I am going to start my youtube vlog videos in london and this is my first time to buy a camera. Osmo pocket 3 is the cost twice as pocket 2 is. Is Osmo pocket 3 worth buying or enough with pocket 2 ?
This is mainly for vlogging right? Not really meant for action like the GoPro I take it? I know with the GoPro you can mount on a bike or quad. The DJI Pocket 3 looks awesome though! Edit: That's a cool jacket, what jacket is it, the yellow one?
I still think an insta360 is more useful as you don't need to worry as much on composition. You get all angles and you can do more in post. I spend less time in the field filming and get more shots.

How much did you pay him to make this?
Nothing.
Bought the camera for myself in Japan. Would have loved to have been paid for it tho! 😂
dji please add a telephoto lens to the pocket, as at the moment it has a wide angle, can you do different telephoto ones aswell, rarther then a digital zoom? thanks!
@@thechrishau Haha appreciate the transparency.

I do that for car rollers currently
Also the action 4 with the Mimo app I already did both
Dude this is your best one in a while. Love to see the passion back.
:)
@@thechrishau always keep the passion, as when you are old, it will leave you

Since getting one of these it has quickly become my absolute favorite camera to use! Ease of use makes me really want to get out there and create.

you didnt show its true potential. you uploaded at 1080 so we cant see how crisp the 4k is
Great video! And this is the most extremem weather conditions I have seen this camera used in so far. Nearly every other video expressed hesitancy in using it in such conditions. Great to see!

This one is going on the shopping list!
I love the way you’re mounting the mic to the case for vlogging - I’m gonna steal that idea - always had it magnet to my sweater
that's what the mic clip hole on the case is actually for.
My Japanese friend who lives in Nagano brought me to this place back in 2016. How magical it was. Thanks for sharing, footage looks great! I had my Canon 70-300 with me, so worth it indeed!

Great video, awesome shots but the icing on the cake was the music selection. Just perfect.
Great review. I’m thinking about buying the Pocket 3 for on the move vlogging. This video was helpful, thank you.
Take care
✌️😎
I feel you on the simplicity of a vlogging set up. Solid quality on this for the price point + size
I picked up one a few months ago and it’s changed how I go about my UA-cam content creation and even some of my professional videography work
if Dji comes out with a telephoto lens. they will win the game
100% agree
ya wish it had a removable mount.
I would bet that’s their next gig? Basically dismount the cluster from the drone and put it on this one?
I love how happy Japan makes you dude 😃
Pure joy 👌
i love and have both the S5II and Pocket 3!!! love how you used both. Thanks, Chris!!!
Love this Chris. You got me with that Japanese music at the beginning and quiet voice… 😂
Because it was 5am 😂
@@thechrishau 🤣 😂

Been looking at this as a vlogging camera! Thanks for the vid Chris!
Hey Chris, it's supposed your videos be 1080p?
Love your content! Great video! ❤
I really want to try this camera ! Thanks for the review Chris, I think I’m gonna get one!
Thank you for actually vlogging with it! I finally decided to get it! 🎉🎉
I like this new Chris Hau, loving the new content.. keep it up
Bro, Pocket 3 footage is dope! It's such a great addition to the kit. It's so nice not to have to pull out the mirrorless & wide angle zoom!
Amazing video ! Love it when you show us Japan ! 🥰
Bought this Cam a month ago. Really like it. And you can use it as a webcam with ActiveTrack :)

The dji crops so well for those monkeys. Incredible... *giggles*
Great stuff. Way too many notifications on screen for me to use as much as I'd like.
Wow imagine Flying a drone in that area. The aerial view would look amazing.
Nice one but you should try logging up a Canon 1DX mark two and a series 1 600 mm lens. I’ve done that twice to the snow monkey park.😉
Lawson's gang! I need to check out the DJI, great video Chris.
I am a 7 eleven person :) BUT LAWSON IS GREAT
Great video !! I was wondering what settings did you use in camera and is it d-log or normal color profil ! Thanks in advance :)
Please, bring more videos at Japan! I love this Country
Hey Chris, do you happen to remember what was the lowest temperature when you were filming this? I'm wondering how it performs in low temperature environment compared to GoPro for example.
Me too. Planning to hike with this thing
were you able to find the creator combo while you were there?
Loved the OG Pocket but it died on me out of nowhere mid-trip a few years back
Booked a trip to Utah next month though and could see this being the perfect compliment. Thanks for the demonstration of this awesome tool in a beautiful place!
how many years did the OG pocket last you?
I just bought OP3 because of this video! Best decision ever! Thanks Chris!

Awesome work Chris! QQ: How do you balance the colors and white balance so well for your LUMIX? Just phenomenal work man! 👏🏽
It's a great little camera! It surprised me too, Chris!
Love the monkeys! I also have been using Osmo Pocket 3 to film for my channel and I can say I'm impressed. 😊 You did a great job capturing Japan.
Plus on the small factor for vlogging on the go.
Lawsons all the way..... just got back from 2 epics weeks there... loved it. great vid too
Wow ..great video. What a place for capturing great footage, looks amazing. Just subscribed.
Chris how do you leveled the video?, i can see it don’t bump that much, thanks

Man happy you're enjoying Japan! I've been meaning to get that camera to add to my backpack too!
I like it! Japan is the best
Such a frickin cool experience!
I love my new Pocket 3. I use it more than my Sony ZV-E10.
Thanks for the vid! Any tips on how to match the color grade on the GP10 and DJI Pocket 3? I use the same set of cameras for my MTB vlogging. Thanks!
Nice one Chris! What are your settings for the Osmo 3?
Always motivated with your videos!!!!
1080P ?!?!? Hell of a perversion!
Great camera but really awesome shots you caught!
I have never thought about putting it outside the car before. 😅 this makes me want to use it more.
Great film, pity about the very noticeable typo at 7.02.
that slow mo of 7-11 might have convinced me to buy this
I stayed at the Korakukan last year and had a bath with the monkeys ❤ it was an amazing experience.
Would love to watch this but the music is too loud for me and I can't hear what you are saying.
Welcome to the game Chris. 😂. The OP3 has been incredibly useful for me.

Is it me or does it feel like there’s a milil second skip in the stabilization when you’re vlogging yourself?
Yes there is. Might be an SD card issue. The camera does recommend a certain speed.
what settings do you use on your S5II to get these awesome snow monkey videos? Would you please share thanks for your help!
Tean LAWSON ALL THE WAY!!! Especially those Lawsons that has it's own kitchen, the food inside those are on a different level ~
YESSSS
Amazing work. Thanks for sharing it. ✌️
Yoooo the mic attached to the DJI case is smart af lol
I absolutely love mine its made property video walkthroughs great
What was the name of the suction cup that you used? Great video.
Awesome video Chris!

hey @03:07 isnt this the place where , mortal kombat movie first shot was shot?
Why is the upload only in 1080p?
I love you San Diego Padres cap Chris. I want one 😂
Did you have any ND filters on it while you were out in the snow? I know how bright that can be.
Epic video… thank you for sharing…. Love the Padre hat…
Chris, can you compare this to the Ace Pro? would love to hear your opinion. Thanks
What are you holding your mic on? Is that something that comes with mic itself?
This is mainly for vlogging right? Not really meant for action like the GoPro I take it? I know with the GoPro you can mount on a bike or quad. The DJI Pocket 3 looks awesome though!
Edit: That's a cool jacket, what jacket is it, the yellow one?
telesin suction cup link?
I still think an insta360 is more useful as you don't need to worry as much on composition. You get all angles and you can do more in post. I spend less time in the field filming and get more shots.
What did you use to attach it to the car? Thanks
Chris... what are you mounting the DJI mic to? I feel like its a drone controller, but I can't figure it out.
It's the case the Pocket 3 lives in when not in use.
