    Trimui is often 50-60usd , never seen x55 in this price range. Power saving mode in trimui is just impossible to beat.
    Trimui is very heavy supported and already got first Vulcan update, and developers are focusing to improve psp emulation.
    Only bad thing- analogs, I hope there will be a replacement mod in the future.

      Lots of good points there. But just heard that Rocknix is continuing to support Jelos. Will have to look into that. That might mean that there may be continued development on the X55 though. X55 is a bit older the smart pro though and the slim form factor of the pro is apealing. Maybe just get both Lol, then you don't have to choose.

      Nice what is the main factor that Swayed you to the Smart Pro?

      powkiddy x55 is so good, but the buttons are so damn loud.. Def not a handheld I'd play beside someone at night.

    You forgot to mention the x55 has hdmi out so you can plug it into a TV and add Bluetooth controllers to play with your friends

      You are right, I completely missed that, thanks for pointing it out! I try to keep the video's short intentionally as it is kind of the MO of the channel and when condensing the info down i miss one or 2 aspects like that. I realised this is a big difference in my video where i compared the TSP to the Powkiddy RGB10 Max3 though so hopefully im improving. Thanks for watching aswell.

    Trimui SP is often $50 or less was like $47 shipped recently from Ali also there is a alpha build of Knulli which is a batocera fork that is nice and coming along well

      I have seen it for this price aswell but chose to list the general retail price In the title as it not always on sale. When I checked AliExpress this week the cheapest I could find it for was around $62 ex shipping. If you see a cheaper deal please share the link. Didn't know about Knuli. Sounds awesome if it's based of Batocera. Will check into it. thanks for Sharing

    I have both and will say they are each an excellent value for the price. I do think the X55 slightly edges out the Smart Pro though and this is because of 3 things: much better analog sticks, comfortable ergonomic design and superior system UI. The Smart Pro is pocketable, good build quality and the RGB lights are pretty cool. Overall can't go wrong if you can get either of these for around $80.

      Sounds awesome! its good to get feedback from someone who actually owns both. I can imagine that the X55 is more comfortable than the Smart Pro. it's almost a Rg556 vs RP4 Pro comparison design and Ergonmics wize isn't it? How does the battery life compare in your experience. Does the Smart pro last a bit longer with the slighlty larger battery?

      @@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh ty for your reviews. I have been interested in a dedicated handheld for two months now lol 🤣. My zfold can emulate it all, but a dedicated device seems more convenient. And once you hit $100 IMO the Switch Lite is hard to beat for a refurbished unit @ $100-150ish

    • @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh
      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh  5 місяців тому +1

      @@Iron_Condorr Its a pleasure. Thanks for watching. I have thought about how phones with high end chipsets factor into the Emulation hadheld scene and i come back to the same point every time. The onscreen controls are not great when running emulation on a phone and carrying a seperate bluetooth controller is just a hassle to carry around with you. So a dedicated device becomes attractive. I like the Switch lite but i would rather opt for something like the Rg556 or the RG Cube that can run Other console's games aswell. All the best with your search for a suitable device though.

      Did you calibrate the sticks on the smart pro ?
      Did you use the crossmix os 1.21 or the stock os ?

    I chose X55 for comfort of use as I personally don't care about pocketebl and taking it outside of the house , but someone with different lifestyle may choose the TrimUI for taking ours, I aslo prefer bigger screen and better performance even if it slight, thanks for the video

      It is a pleasure. i was also very torn between the 2. I looked at the Trimui Smart Pro compared to the Powkiddy RGB10Max3 in another video and had the same problem. I am a fan of the Trimui Smart Pro but the fact that the RGB10Max 4 has ergonomic grips and video out made me feel it might be the better option. I think the trimui Smart Pro has more community support in terms of custom firmware though and as you said it is more pocketable so that may appeal to some. Thanks for wathcing.

    Hello, a great comparison video!! I ordered a Trimui Smart Pro without an sd card, which I want to buy myself. Do you know if I have to create folders on the sd card beforehand or does the Trimui do that when I insert the sd card!?

    • @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh
      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh  8 місяців тому +2

      Hi, thanks for the compliment it is much appreciated. You will have to update the unit to the new version 1.04 firmware anyway when you get it so that it runs everything as efficiently as possible. I have a video guide on that here: ua-cam.com/video/-Qt2cWghIiQ/v-deo.html. When you do this you will be copying over the folder structure that the unit needs to run with the updated files in them. Joey over at Joey's Retro handhelds has an extremely in depth setup guide if your still stuck after watching mine that you can view here: ua-cam.com/video/NFMXzy9ZkIk/v-deo.html. Hope that helps, enjoy your Trimui.

      @@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh Thank you for the detailed answer! If I have installed the update via the sd card, I can then delete the update file from the sd card again!!! The suf the it card come in the end only the odner for the roms or!?

    • @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh
      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh  8 місяців тому

      @@OldHardwarenerd I believe you should be able to install the update with the SD card, format it and then copy the file structure that is neccesary for the Storage sd card that holds the ROm, Bios and other folders. It is part of the upgrade process. You have to download 2 update files. One to update the system and one to copy files onto the storage SD Card. Joeys video is quite comprehensive and shows you step by step what to do. I hope this answers your question. Wasn't shure about that last part. Feel free to ask again if this didn;t clear it up.

    I own the smart pro and i would not recommend it simply because of the ergonomics. Its thin with not much to hold and the analog sticks suck. The d pad and face buttons are good though

    • @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh
      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh  2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the feedback. I have heard from more than 1 person that the analog sticks on it are not great and it does not have video out. It just looks like such a good device when you watch reviews. But the beforementioned has slowly started to get me thinkjng that the x55 or the likes of the RGB10 max 3 may be better if you can get it for a good price.
