I put in the VHS player & watched about the first minute & thought "damn, someone tell him his guitar is upside down" & went in the kitchen to get something to drink & as I came back looking at the television & I couldn't understand what I was seeing. Was this guy playing that upside-down guitar with his teeth? I hit rewind & started over. It gave me goosebumps, here I am at 50 yrs old & that feeling is exactly the same....

@@markriobr Hendrix was so electrifying because he made his bones in the old Chitlin' Circuit. He backed up tons of artists like Little Richard and the Isley Brothers for a good while. Richard actually fired him for being too flamboyant. Try to wrap your head around that one. The fact is that to make it in that circuit not only did you have to have solid musical chops, you had to be visually spectacular. Black folks in those days weren't about to spend their hard earned dollars on middling talent. And they let you know in no uncertain terms you didn't measure up. Black folks know about Jimi. Maybe not the Jimi of Monterrey Pop, but certainly the one from the Circuit.

Please make reaction to Diana Ankudinova - the most unique young talented singer.
    (rarest contralto with polyphonic overtones)
One of my favourite things to find and enjoy is music that gives me chills and goosebumps. I was cruising UA-cam recently and discovered a Russian talent show contestant that did just that, with one of the best, most unique voices I've heard in many years. Her delivery was nothing short of magical and I searched out more and more and more, and...more chills.
I was stunned to find that the first performance I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 17 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English and Arabic.
The covers she performed on that show are very popular on UA-cam. Many UA-camrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "Take On Me" and others.
Please react to one of Diana's songs and I promise she will surprise you..

Jimi was one heck of a cool, mellow, laid back dude. On stage he was a monster with a guitar in his hands, but off stage he was the exact opposite, a quiet, shy person, very retiring and reserved, exceptional manners, very thoughtful sometimes. Hard to believe isn't it that he initially was so shy that he did not think that he had a very good singing voice at all. How wrong Jimi was. I love his voice. It is a perfect fit to his music. Soulful, deep, and earthy. Look carefully. That is a right handed strat, turned upside down, and strung to play left hand, but in so doing the stringing arrangement is reversed too and the control knobs are in the way of playing. Weird, eh? Rad, Jimi could play with his teeth, between his legs, behind his back, and over his head effortlessly. Jimi could play with his teeth better than some guitarists can play with their hands! He could also play right handed, but preferred left hand playing. You were astounded. How can he do that? Jimi on waking up, would clean up, dress, and then strap on his guitar. He ate breakfast with his guitar strapped on, he went to the loo with his guitar strapped on. Liked the echo effect. From dressing till going to bed, Jimi would have a guitar at hand. He heard the music in his head, and plucked it from the air. He practiced his guitar so much, that the guitar and Jimi were one. That's why sometimes it even looks like Jimi is making love with his guitar on stage. Because playing the guitar had really been removed, as Jimi was so proficient, it enabled Jimi to express himself over the guitar almost effortlessly. Jimi's feelings went straight out from him and over the guitar to you.
On stage at Regents Polytechnic in London, where he jammed for the first time in the UK with Cream (and nobody did that....I mean jam with Cream as they were considered God's themselves), I saw Jimi crouch down and 'hump' his guitar on stage whilst doing a roaring rendition of Howlin' Wolfs Killing Floor. Ginger Baker was lost for words, Jack Bruce said wow, and Eric Clapton stood with his mouth open. I just said WOW! There have been many disciples like SRV, Prince, Eddie van Halen, but Jimi is the real deal. Nobody before or after has got anywhere near his talent. Jimi was very humble about it too. He did not personally think he was the best. But fact is, he was. Genius. ABSOLUTE HANDS DOWN GUITAR GOD!!! Saw him more than once live, and you can take it from me, he was light years beyond anyone else. Nobody could touch him musically. You can ask anyone who saw him live and they will all tell you the same. When he died, I wept. Without a doubt the most unique, talented, gifted, musical artist of a generation lost at age 27. A tragedy beyond all proportions.
Next stop? Try Jimi Hendrix, Johnny B Goode, Berkeley. Chuck Berry, who wrote this song, said that Jimi quote, 'Played the absolute living crap out of the song.' Jimi's performance starts out with him saying, 'Let's do a little loose jamming with Johnny B Goode.' And then he is off. What happens next is sort of a cross between a guitar, a song called Johnny B Goode, an express train going full speed, and Hendrix. Go look. You'll be absolutely amazed. Another to watch is Jimi Hendrix, Lulu Show, Full Version (Cream tribute). There's a colored version of this now. Jimi over ran the TV time slot, and changed mid way through Hey Joe saying, 'We're going to stop playing this rubbish and play a tribute to Cream. I dedicate this to Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, and Eric Clapton.' Then he begins. The over run meant that he was never invited back onto the Lulu Show again. Never heard a guitar talk the words to Sunshine of Your Love? You are in for a treat. At the end something else astonishing. I will not spoil it for you.

Jimi played guitar like it was an extension of his body. I guess us older folks take his ability for granted because we have been exposed to him for a very long time. So watching someone discover this amazing guitar player makes it seem new again.

When it comes to the electric guitar there is Pre Jimi Hendrix and Post Jimi Hendrix, he changed to way people listen and played the guitar, no other guitar artist is even in the Building 1. He was incredibly creative 2. His technique was superb 3. He was a great songwriter 4. He was a great singer 5. He was a great frontman. He didn’t need to play fast alternate picking runs or sweep picking or tapping tricks , he was above that. No one even comes close to him He invented a whole new style of playing. He by himself changed the way people thought about the electric guitar. He singlehandedly redefined the musical vocabulary of the electric guitar and changed music forever. When Jimi hit the scene people were hearing noises they had never heard from a guitar.

Oh what an awesome reaction! I’m crying 😭. Jarrett your like “‘okay he is impressive but really hasn’t hit anything on his guitar yet’’ and then BAM! Jimi chows down on his guitar and your reaction kills me. ‘’Okay we are gonna have to go back because I know this guy didn’t just start playing with his teeth’’. 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve been watching a lot of people’s reaction and I will say your’s is the real deal. 5 gold stars for this one!

Jimi was a great showman, he saw others playing behind their back and with their teeth. If you google that you can find that he loved that showmanship that he saw from others. I also love his "cool" vocal style. Perceptive reactions, you have interesting observations, thanks.

I saw the Jimi Hendrix Experience live in 1969. What videos don't show is the source of the sounds. I could see 3 people on stage,, but everything that wasn't drum or bass, was Jimi's guitar. The sounds were coming from places that weren't there. ✌❤🎶

I've been waitin' for your reaction to Hendrix. He was born and raised in Seattle (as was I). I saw his final concert in the continental US at Sick's Stadium, a small open air baseball stadium in south Seattle that was located kind of over the hill from his childhood neighborhood, shortly before he died. My brother (who was a lead guitar player) took me for my 21st birthday in 1970. The tickets were $7 each, and it was festival seating (which means no assigned seats) and we were behind the dugout, standing across from the stage. The rock guitar was basically invented by Jimi. He influenced every gitpicker who came after him. He was really never known for his voice, but simply the genius he brought to the electric guitar. He played with his teeth, and also his tongue, behind his back, set his guitar on fire, etc. He played a right-handed guitar left-handed and restrung. He mostly played a Stratocaster and most players used a variation of the Strat ever after. He revolutionized the use of at least 3 foot pedal sounds, the wah-wah pedal, the fuzz face and the uni-vibe. Before him, the lead guitar players didn't really use 'em much, but they sure did after he schooled them. And he used a Marshall amp. A personal story for my bro' was that he was reviewed while on tour in Europe and his playing was called a cross between Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. High praise indeed. No, he didn't get rich and famous, but he should have.

Great reaction. Jimi was a true legend and innovator. After working mostly as an ace R&B sideman in the US, he moved to England - where he blew everyone's mind. He showed up, and played super- challenging songs, all while playing behind his back, or head, or teeth. No one had ever seen anything like it.
