This is pretty much the best blues guitar performance that you'll ever see. There's other guitarist that are great in their particular style but SRV is this best in this genre (blues) of music.
Stevie was super human. The guitar was just an extension of him, he played it so effortlessly it seemed...as effortlessly as us normal humans breathe. I was very blessed to meet him just months before the crash. He sat on the edge of the stage and just wanted to talk with me (and others). It was like we were all good friends. So humble, loved his fans to no end. When I heard of the accident, I was in shock. Even when I walked into work, ppl asked me "dude, who died?". It felt like I lost a close family member and still does. Never, ever felt that way towards anyone outside my family, especially a famous person. SRV is the reason I started playing (he actually suggested I start during or talk). I also have one of the very first SRV Signature Strats made. It's never been played except at the factory. I only tune it up every few months to keep the neck straight.
Wow - what a great memory and amazing influence for you! - when I was 16 - I had the privilege to meet the members of Queen - everyone was great and kind to a couple (me & my BFF) awkward teens......... still treasure that memory...

I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley Wisconsin August 26th 1990. I heard the horrible news the next morning. It was one of the saddest days of my life. The lineup was Eric Clapton, SRV, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. RIP SRV!

One really cool comment Eric Clapton made about SVR is that Stevie NEVER got stuck in his songs when performing live. Eric, who was called God in the 60's due to his amazing abilities, said every guitarist gets lost or wanders somewhere during a song or two and doesn't know what to do for a second. But SVR, he said, never ever got lost. He ALWAYS knew what to play, ALWAYS.
the man had a real gift for completely losing his ego when he picked a guitar up and just becoming a conduit for music, wherever the hell it comes from
This was pure magical, live, no-holds-barred, unadulterated, unscripted artistry jacked up on steroids! Sweet Jesus, an absolute Guitar God if ever there was one. Arguably the most insane live guitar performance ever caught on tape. How good was Stevie really? Well here's a quote from one of Stevie's influences that later was one of his contemporaries as well: "Stevie was an endless, open channel that music just poured out of. He made people who'd never touched a guitar in their life want to pick one up and start playing, and he made those of us who'd played professionally with him onstage before want to quit!.....................Eric Clapton.
Thomas - you're right, SRV paying homage to the great Jimi Hendrix is truly special. I saw an interview where SRV commented that Jimi's music was meant to be played. It's not about "doing it better" or anything like that, it's about about great music. He said, Jimi would be pleased his music lives on. I have to agree. ✌❤🎵
He's PURE soul! It flows through his entire body! He literally uses his whole body when he's playing, which must leave him spent after a long night of playing! Never get tired of watching him do his thing!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Stevie Ray Vaughan he was/ is a legendary blues guitar player he revised the blues in the 80’s but sadly we lost him in a helicopter crash on August 27,1990 at the age of 35 . Dude, I keep rewatching this video over and over just to see your reaction. You have an involuntary smile almost the entire time. It's great to see someone's mind being blown.
First time checking out your channel✌️. I get such pleasure watching 1st reactions to Stevie Ray‼️. Amazement, joy, disbelief, head shaking, jaw dropping, and the need to take a break from watching just to absorb the the overwhelming other worldly talent from this borrowed angel of ours🎸🎶😇. I hope this is just the first of many more excursions down the SRV rabbit hole. Can't wait✌️. Great reaction👏👏👏‼️
@@RadJarrettTheIntrovert great news Jarrett👏‼️. May I suggest his very best version (never played the same song same way twice!) live from Austin City Limits 1989. I subscribed and am looking forward to your musical journey🎸🎶✌️🦋
'A whole nother planet' is probably the best best description for such a talent. I'm a 70 year old whose been around the block and never have I seen tbe guitar equal of SRV. And his singing fits perfectly with his playing. Yes, we know exactly how blessed we were era wise. With young people like yourself discovering this gold we happily relive the time especially knowing the talent is reaching you to be carried forward, hopefully, forever. Oh!!! And I subbed.
You're welcome Jarrett. Here's a gift for you featuring 2 favorite guitar gods of mine. On UA-cam search for John Mayalls Blues Breakers with Gary Moore and Buddy Whittingdon doing So Many Roads. Watch the one with 20 million views. And......you're welcome for the treat.
Jimi Hendrix and SRV are at the top of my list of favorite guitarists. Here's my list if you're interested: Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Duane Allman (Allman Brothers), Johnny Winter, David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, Peter Green and Danny Kirwan (old Fleetwood Mac), Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Robin Trower, Buddy Guy, Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen), John Cipollina (Quicksilver Messenger Service).
All great guitarist stand on their own with their own style from smooth melodic to ultimate shredder, Hard rock, jazz or classical it's a joy to watch an accomplished musician at work.
Stevie was incredible. He was mostly active through the late 70s and 80s. Pretty much founded Texas rock-blues. Heavy Hendrix and Albert King influence. I enjoyed your reaction. Hope to hear more.
i have stood by his statue in austin where i have lived since 1980 and until this video i did not know all of his crazy talent. still watch him on austin city limits. thank you Rad
Thank you for your great reactions to this song as well as others too. Stevie Ray Vaughn is a master of the guitar. RIP. Could you also react to Jeff Healey's See the light. Thanks.
I'm 70 yes old seen another of the bands u mentioned and more but I don't think you'll come across anyone better than Stevie..I saw this in Philly back in the 80's with my daughter and was completely blown away. Sadly we lost this beautiful talented man too early just a few years later 😪
HE IS the top of the 'mountain'. The thing...about SRV...is he just keeps going on and on and on. He never stops. He's in YOUR FACE ALL the time EVERY time.
I have said this before but the 1960s and 1970s AM and FM radio airwaves were full of amazing music brought by many artists and groups that refused to be pigeonholed. The 1980s were good in a lot of ways.....with people like SRV closing out the decade. Finding good music these days is more work than most people are willing to put forth, especially those of us who were spoiled by commercial radio of those days. I, for one, am glad that younger people are discovering these wonderfully talented people that I was BLESSED to grow up with.
I like when in certain parts of the song he seems to hover for a second and then Dive bombs again into a Incredible run. All the time sewing everything together like a tailor.
SRV was a divine being...we had him for such a short time, but what an impact! I truly enjoyed your reaction and I highly recommend a deep dive into SRV!
I subscribed because I enjoyed watching your facial expressions so much as you reacted to Stevie Ray. I can remember hearing him on radio half a century ago. Yes, over half a century ago. And I took enormous pleasure in watching you discover him for the first time. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Legend has it that this one time and stuff Stevie went to the East Belgium Wall and said " Mr ... Yelstein take this wall down" and stuff! And he did and people were all like Happy and stuff rocking out to some Stevie Jams and stuff.
First time here and I like what see. This was a great video to watch for my first reaction from you. Thanks for the breath of fresh air. Great guitarists has to include Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana and Eddie Van Halen. That just scratches the surface of the great music of the 60's and 70's when I was a teenager.
Lol enjoy the SRV rabbit hole! You will now begin comparing all other guitarists to him. I love watching people experience him for the first time. It's definitely life changing! 😎
Loved your reaction! SRV was the best. You can chose any of his songs and be totally satisfied. Yes, I grew up in the 70"s. Was able to enjoy the great music from that era. Definitely spoiled with this music.
As Julie below said, about the best blues guitar youll ever hear - Stevie has played with all the blues greats as well and surprised them all. For years it was said nobody played the Blues like the great old Black blues masters but Stevie learned from them, his brother and on his own and became one of the greatest among the greats - in fact some of the greats said he was the best even they had ever heard including Eric Clapton. I was lucky enough to see him play twice in the 80's and sooo glad I did.
IMHO, you may have just watched the best guitar work you'll ever see for the rest of your life. SRV has many, many more videos out there that will amaze you, but I think you just watched his best. You seemed very authentic with your reaction. You looked at the camera the same way and at the same parts of the performance as I did when I heard this the first time with my buddies, back in the day. I feel the same way about the other bands you mentioned, along with Eric Clapton and a few others. You might be interested to know that growing up with those bands led to the same sensation that I think you're describing, "those guys were frickin' great.........but then Stevie was born!"
This seems to be the consensus John. Sometimes when reacting i often wonder if I’m overreaching when i say things like “best” because i know I’m new to the music and don’t want to offend but it’s nice to see it validated in the comments.

Thank you for your excellent responses.
You got it right! He’s the G. O. A. T. !!
His passion, feel, soul and technical precision all in one is why he’s the greatest! Dude never looks at the guitar. It’s an extension of his mind, body and soul.
Checkout “Voodoo Chile” live in Nashville. Always do SRV live!

@@RadJarrettTheIntrovert WOW!!! That’s so cool❤️
Thanks Harriet! By popular demand I’ll be checking out voodoo? Soon 🙌🏽
@@RadJarrettTheIntrovert great news Jarrett👏‼️. May I suggest his very best version (never played the same song same way twice!) live from Austin City Limits 1989. I subscribed and am looking forward to your musical journey🎸🎶✌️🦋
nothing. nothing beats that performance! SRV is the GOAT!
Thanks Ron! I’ve been enjoying the journey
Lol.....you weren't ready😂😂😂 it's okay brother, none of us were ready for SRV first time he lit us up.
😅😅 what a guy
Jimi Hendrix and SRV are at the top of my list of favorite guitarists. Here's my list if you're interested: Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Duane Allman (Allman Brothers), Johnny Winter, David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, Peter Green and Danny Kirwan (old Fleetwood Mac), Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Robin Trower, Buddy Guy, Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen), John Cipollina (Quicksilver Messenger Service).
Led Zeppelin keeps popping up a lot 🤔
I like you had room on your list for Cipolina ... still, now and then, find time to watch some QMS.
@@texasnewt Yes, they were great.
Another great performance from him is "Mary had a little lamb " live
All great guitarist stand on their own with their own style from smooth melodic to ultimate shredder, Hard rock, jazz or classical it's a joy to watch an accomplished musician at work.
I can’t lie I’ve been learning so much. Especially about rock music. I thought it was all just head bopping music but was i wrong lol
Very few guitarists have the astounding talent to walk on stage and close their eyes and let the music take over
Stevie was incredible. He was mostly active through the late 70s and 80s. Pretty much founded Texas rock-blues. Heavy Hendrix and Albert King influence. I enjoyed your reaction. Hope to hear more.
SRV ~ 🎸🐐
1)Life Without You at Capitol Theater
2)Voodoo Child at Starwood Theater in Nashville

I love your reaction when dude starts singing with that guitar behind his back.
I know from your reactions to Stevie that you get it...
I AGREE 100%!!! SRV is the GOAT###
Saw him live once at the Hollywood Bowl, he BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN! I feel so fortunate to have been there.
SRV is my favorite blues guitarist and one of my all time favorite guitarist period.
i have stood by his statue in austin where i have lived since 1980 and until this video i did not know all of his crazy talent. still watch him on austin city limits. thank you Rad
He was just brilliant! My dad is buried very close to Stevie Ray and I always visit him after I visit my dad.
was so fortunate to see this man play live twice. Good review young Mr. Jarrett and good luck with your channel
He’s certainly the best I’ve seen so far. Let’s see if anyone tops him
Blues baby! What soul he was the best on guitar, RIP Stevie!!
🙏🏽 legend
HE IS the top of the 'mountain'. The thing...about SRV...is he just keeps going on and on and on. He never stops. He's in YOUR FACE ALL the time EVERY time.
You can stop your search now, brother. You just found the GOAT! Great reaction!
Haha well a few ppl have been saying Jimmy hemdrixx? So we’ll see!
Great reaction, to a great song !! SRV is sorely missed...
Absolutely the greatest 🙌 end of story
I have said this before but the 1960s and 1970s AM and FM radio airwaves were full of amazing music brought by many artists and groups that refused to be pigeonholed.
The 1980s were good in a lot of ways.....with people like SRV closing out the decade.
Finding good music these days is more work than most people are willing to put forth, especially those of us who were spoiled by commercial radio of those days.
I, for one, am glad that younger people are discovering these wonderfully talented people that I was BLESSED to grow up with.
So glad you are experiencing this😎❤️☮️
I like when in certain parts of the song he seems to hover for a second and then Dive bombs again into a Incredible run. All the time sewing everything together like a tailor.
SRV was a divine being...we had him for such a short time, but what an impact! I truly enjoyed your reaction and I highly recommend a deep dive into SRV!
Coming soon 🙌🏽
I subscribed because I enjoyed watching your facial expressions so much as you reacted to Stevie Ray. I can remember hearing him on radio half a century ago. Yes, over half a century ago. And I took enormous pleasure in watching you discover him for the first time. Thank you for sharing that with us.
He was amazing. Thanks Alan
If you're into guitar solos , you are in the right place! My all time favorite artist!
Btw I subscribed. ❤✌
Thank you Kiersten 🙌🏽
You just listened to the Best of any generation so far. SRV RIP
Totally agred, best blues player watch ....life without you, beautiful song and a great message
Legend has it that this one time and stuff Stevie went to the East Belgium Wall and said " Mr ... Yelstein take this wall down" and stuff! And he did and people were all like Happy and stuff rocking out to some Stevie Jams and stuff.
My favorite , Just incredible 🤯
Hey Rad, watching your reaction is the way I felt the first time I heard this. (and saw this) Just beautiful bewilderment.
Best I’ve seen so far 🙌🏽
I so loved your real reaction of true talent that I subscribed
SRV is the G.O.A.T.
🤗 thanks Stephanie. He really is the best I’ve seen so far 🙌🏽
I like those pics on the wall behind you dude! I don't know who did those but obviously someone has some talent. Cheers!
Thanks George! I’m on a journey to discover as much 60s,70s, 80s, 90s music as i can
You're scratching the surface. I'll take this ride. Yes, I was there for the '60's.
Lol enjoy the SRV rabbit hole! You will now begin comparing all other guitarists to him. I love watching people experience him for the first time. It's definitely life changing! 😎
You are right lol
Loved your reaction! SRV was the best. You can chose any of his songs and be totally satisfied. Yes, I grew up in the 70"s. Was able to enjoy the great music from that era. Definitely spoiled with this music.
I’m jealous
God ...SRV was gifted ❤ ...
So glad you've found him 😁😍😁😍
Me too, amazing talent
As Julie below said, about the best blues guitar youll ever hear - Stevie has played with all the blues greats as well and surprised them all. For years it was said nobody played the Blues like the great old Black blues masters but Stevie learned from them, his brother and on his own and became one of the greatest among the greats - in fact some of the greats said he was the best even they had ever heard including Eric Clapton. I was lucky enough to see him play twice in the 80's and sooo glad I did.
True master 🙌🏽
The Celebration of Blues and Soul performance of this song takes it to a whole 'nother level...
Wow! You pick the best rabbit holes to go down! SRV is excellence embodied.
A master!
I've been playing guitar for almost my entire life there is no one better in my humble opinion than Stevie Ray Vaughan
I agree Mr Anderson
There isn't anybody better than Stevie...he is the G.O.A.T.
🐐🐐
