The rabbit hole of amazing songs is deep between Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry- Slave To Love, Kiss and Tell, Don't Stop the Dance, Love is the Drug. Ferry is the epitome of class and always looks GQ.

Great tune but let's do some really great Roxy Music...i.e. Out Of The Blue, Virginia Plain, Do The Strand, A Song For Europe, and so much really great Roxy Music, especially my all time favourite Roxy tune, Mother Of Pearl, not only the best Roxy tune but one of the greatest tunes of ever. Saw Roxy a few times way back in the day...Great band, great shows.

this is the title song from roxy music's final album. AVALON is the mythical realm of king arthur and the band wanted the LP to embody, reflect that ethereal, other-worldly feel. when this album was released in late '82 it's lush, romantic sound stunned the industry - a masterpiece ❤
if you want more romantic, suave roxy music try "oh yeah" and "same old scene" and bryan ferry's solo single "slave to love" - OMG so sultry!

"Sublime" is the word you're looking for. _Avalon_ is perfection, one of the best albums of the 1980s, & one of the best produced. The best part of this video is your seated dancing, with swaying similar to Bryan Ferry's moves. You're feeling it right.
You can't go wrong with Roxy Music:
    "Dance Away" (1979)
    "Love Is The Drug" (1975)
    "Pyjamarama" (1974)
Check out Bryan Ferry solo, he kept the vibe going:
    "Don't Stop The Dance" (1985)
    "Kiss & Tell" (1987)

Avalon is a mythical island from the legend of king Arthur. It's where the sword, Excalibur, was made.

Let’s not forget Brian Eno - Sound technician, keys, and reel to reel mixing. Mr. Eno was one of the original members of RM.
Since his departure from the band in 1973, he’s enjoyed a successful solo career with his Ambient sound.
Although my favorite albums is the first after his leaving Roxy. ‘Here Come the Warm Jets’ & ‘Taking Tiger Mountain’.
Brian Eno is hailed as one of the best music producers. He’s produced records for: for Talking Heads, U2, Devo, Coldplay, Massive Attack,
He’s worked musically with: David Bowie, Genesis, John Cale, amount others.
*cool factoid: Eno created that little piece of music-….the sound of the Windows 95 start up. (That cool chime when you start up a windows pc)

Avalon has been a personal favourite of mine for the very reason you
pointed out, super smooth and chilled, another song worthy of a listen in DANCE AWAY but it has to be the full version to experience the sax work. Like people have already mentioned Roxy Music have a deep catalogue on very influential music dating right back to the early 70s.

A soothing and relaxing song from 1982. Other great sounding music from Roxy Music are MORE THAN THIS, THE SPACE BETWEEN AND a more faster rock song out in 1975 LOVE IS THE DRUG. Enjoyed your reaction to this song.

I hit like even before watching the video. You should try The Style Council either Long Hot Summer or You're the Best Thing.

Ohhhhhhh my boyfriend Bryan Ferry 🖤🖤🖤
He just breathes...to me he is the perfect definition of sauve sophistication. All class. There are SO many Roxy Music songs to sit back and soothe your soul to.
    Oh Yeah
    Dance Away
    Same old Scene
    Angel Eyes
His voice is just another level & sends me drifting away
    He's had my heart since I was 8 🖤🖤🖤

The lady doing the background vocals was actually heard by Ferry on a Sunday morning I think walking through the studio when he heard her in a next door studio, a Haitian singer Yanick Étienne.

Avalon was released May 1982 - 1970's Roxy Music was a very different sound.
The sax player is Andy Mackay - check out his solo albums, 'In Search of Eddie Riff' and 'Resolving Contradictions'.

This song (and video) is so perfect and beautiful it can bring tears to my eyes.
Check out Jealous Guy - it's a John Lennon cover but it's beautiful, way better than the original imo.

Avalon was a great song and the album of the same name was.
Also his song "More than this" is brilliant too. All the best Jay from Liverpool UK 👍🇬🇧

One of the best records of the 80's -- absolutely solid from beginning to end with no mediocre tracks, and superbly recorded and mixed. Since you like this you should check out another 80's group with a somewhat similar feel -- The Blue Nile. Try "Tinseltown in the Rain," "The Downtown Lights," or "Let's Go Out Tonight."

Hi Jay, great review!! And yeeeeah....you nailed it when you said "if your stressed, turn this song on" 😂 that's the essence of this song!! I'm telling you, it transports you to a mindset that I don't think any other song could!! Don't think so, listen to it on a loop for an hour and it just gets better when you close your eyes and let the music take control!! I'm 64 and it's still in my top 20 of all time!! 😂💯😎

I used to sing Gaviscon (UK indigestion mixture) along to this and now I can't hear the song without thinking of that haha!
Virginia Plain is a more upbeat song from their earlier career.

One of the greatest bands ever. So cool and decadent. Listen to Ladytron from their earlier days in the Early 70's. Back when they had Brian Eno on synthesizer. Also songs like Street Life and Out of the Blue. Bryan Ferry are still going strong. 76 years old and still touring with his band. Have also made a lot of great solo albums. Love This Island Earth. In 1999 he released As Time Goes By. Old classics in the Ferry Vibe
