@@lv5949 The sad part is that majority of the people doing these already had a pretty good life prior- most owned profitable businesses and were wealthy. I haven’t seen a single person from the ‘hood’ or below the poverty line caught trying to scam the govt. Only wealthy, well educated people who had many options but got greedy. This man owned homes and such. He wasn’t struggling to make ends meet to resort to this nonsense, not that it would be justifiable then but he knew better is what I’m trying to say.

everyone in my hood has new 2020 cars from covid money. every one i know got 14 Gs stat, and 400 a week in in Covid " back unemployment" (ark pau) they get checks using fake ssns still get money no ones got gaught, and if they do they already felons, and it was worht the 15 Gs. its crazy , mean while, i used my real ssn and really worked up til 2020, and got denied.... this is al over the country. wake up people, people in the hood are loving covid.. just telling u, its an excuse not to work and get paid

You can file the 600 on your 2020 taxes. My tax preparer did it for me. I just filed my 2019 taxes on March 17 and just received my state taxes, still haven’t received my federal. I filed my 2020 taxes two weeks ago and just received my 1400 stimulus check in the mail on 4/9Friday.
I didn't get the 1200 either. And it looks like im not getting this 1400 one.

I am so TIRED of hearing about these "bad actors" as I am a small business owner than this is directly affecting people that are legitimate and really need the help.

Whoever approves or disapproves these loans should be responsible for verifying the lenders business history. Did they just approved all Loan applications? Anyone can apply for the loan, but whoever has the authority to release to fund should be held liable too.

Yep we have one in Cincinnati Ohio here who got busted this week on PPP Loans
So many that it’s hurts legit cases, they freeze my regular uc every two weeks for no reason. I guess they are trying to see whose who.

I work for a financial institution and I do audits and I'm seeing people claiming unemployment in multiple states and their getting those payments. All these PPP applicants needed to apply was a tin, ID, and a form contact. They were told they would need to provide proof of disbursement and that's where they're getting fawked

Here I am born and raised in this country. Let me try and go file for a PPP loan, I would definitely get turned down. How much of the 24 million dollars went back to his native country? Agreed! I bet he sent some of that money to India, possibly to help out his family who's struggling during Covid! But then he decided to get greedy and spoil himself. This was allowed to happen due to this country's love for foreigners! I mean, just look at how they're pampering the Asians! Foreigners are taking over, and are treated better than all the rest! Don't be surprised if he gets a simple slap on the wrist for his crime!
How'd he get through the approval process?
Start the investigation with the highest paid PPP loan. Get 5 years tax record of the business or the person who filed for the loan. Also, check if the person representing the company has dual citizenship or ties to other countries. It seems that these evil individuals are tech savvy and has at least rudimentary knowledge of the financial system or banking.
Also, if the PPP was filed through a finance institution they should be partly liable. Get the money back and give them to the rightful small businesses!
It is so easy to do the wrong things. No one wants to work hard for the good things in life.
All that, and we couldn't even get enough to help with the power bill....
Fines of up to $1million and up to 30 years in prison? That's ridiculous. It's not like he physically harmed anyone or harmed anyone's property. And how can the punishment be the same for each offender, no matter if they receive $20k or $20million? Something is no adding up here.

Profiting from fines, long prison sentences, restitution, taxes, I mean damn. I'm starting to look at possible ways to invest in all of this.

This is happening and it will continue to happen because the government’s only criteria to hand out that loan is good credit. You can say you are King of the Jungle and the government will give you the PPP money. Those who truly needed it had their credit affected because they didn’t have enough revenues to cover bills. As a result, the credit might have taken a dip. This is also why so many big businesses got these loans. They had A+ credit ratings. Smaller struggling businesses needed the money but they couldn’t cut the mustard. They eventually shut down permanently while this fool went and bought cars and houses.
It never alarms people when something is too good to be true. It’s really a trap IMO

When the pandemic hit I had two people I knew called me and asked me if I was gonna apply for the PPP loan, I said for what, I’m still working and I don’t own a business, she said she didn’t have a business but they’re not checking so she’s going to apply. I told them both that the government gives nothing for free and if you’re caught lying there will be Hell to pay besides I’m working in law enforcement and don’t want to be in jail with the criminal I’ve supervised. Both were buying cars, Rolex watches and jewelry and I must admit I was kind of jealous but not enough to lose my freedom. Long story short, they both got arrested, lost their homes and jobs and still going to court trying to stay out of jail so they can care for their families. You get nothing for free unless you earn it people. Thank God I listened to my common sense and didn’t fall for this con,because if you lied if was a con and the American people will be footing the bill.

What about all these family vloggers (one here in Texas) that have filed for PPP loans claiming their businesses were hit by Covid? Um no, you work from home you film your boring day and you post it and get paid. Several of these families have made huge purchases such as homes and cars far exceeding the home showed in this piece. The family vlogger in question also has her husband working in a very lucrative position and have always lived pretty high on the hog so to speak. They claim themselves as employees meanwhile those who needed these loans and can’t get them lose everything
It seems like they are going after those who got 1 million or more.
