      I mean I had a $2,340.00 PPP loan and the bank put me through the wringer. I had to submit tax returns, 1099MISC, bank statements for the year, and check stubs invoices that had to match to the letter my 1099MISC amount going into the account and I had to account for all business activity information from Jan through March of 2020 for my home-based business. Two weeks after I got the PPP loan I wired the money back because I got approved for PUA unemployment. How these people got loans big enough to do some of the fraud I'm hearing of is really amazing. I thought the bank was going to do a home visit and see if I really had a home office. I did a second round of PPP because you could use it for operational expenses. I wrote down on my application every single line item I plan to use that $2340 for down to the penny. I don't want any trouble. This government needs to have a national business registry and mandatory business education certification if you want to access any federal funds for business. Lots of people don't have a clue how to properly set up a business so that it is legitimate. I know business licensing is usually a state registry but the Feds and IRS should have access to those state databases to avoid the type of frauds that occur when federal taxpayer dollars are being distributed.

    Fraudsters aside... is there some rule that the SBA cannot call up a bank and ask "What date was this business checking account opened and was there activity the six months prior to the rona?" Is there? Because that ONE SIMPLE QUESTION would have avoided the majority if this fraud. What in the world led these people to hand out money without confirmation that there was a business? I just don't get it! Real businesses out there struggling and closing their doors - laying people off. A business should NOT be told that there is help, only to WAIT and REPLAN over and over... no one can run a business like that. Many should have closed their doors right then but instead - are stressed out, stressing their employees and family - and planning, replanning, and replanning again because the SBA didn't keep their end of the deal and the politicians don't seem to care that a bill was passed and is causing more harm than good.

    I was impacted by 2020.
    I submitted everything correctly, but why do I feel guilty for taking these loans now?
    I have not used 1 dollar of my loans
    I transferred both draws to a personal account as owners compensation.
    I in a sense paid myself.
    I should be good.
    But I'm afraid to spend any money.
    I write off milage on my taxes.
    So if I spend the money on my car payment, or gas... these I think are not qualified....

      If you have a legitimate business with Sch C income or actual payroll you should not be worried. If your PPP included Sch C owner income you are allowed to keep that portion calculated on the Sch C profits. There is a limit that is a reverse of the determination amount. If you receive funds on payroll YOU MUST spend at least 60% of the PPP on payroll (if you are an employee of your company you can also pay your ‘officer pay’ within the limits for owner pay). If you do not, you could lose a portion of forgiveness. If you keep the funds as owner pay (within the limits) it is considered the same as paying you payroll so you will meet the 60% requirement with owner pay only (no other employees). After you meet the 60% requirement for owner pay only or payroll, you can spend the remainder on overhead and current purchase expenses. We limited our clients to the 60% payroll amounts so that additional payroll amounts could be used to receive additional assistance. I am a bookkeeper and I helped many of my clients get these loans for owner pay only and hundreds of employees working for our clients. We are now processing ERTC for our clients. With millions acquired in EIDL, PPP, & ERTC for our clients, we are not worried, our clients are legitimate and have been assisted by us in properly accounting for approved expenses.

    • @ebperformance8436
      @ebperformance8436 3 роки тому +1

      As long as you’re keeping paperwork on what you’re buying for your business, it’s not fraud, the amount you get plays a big factor.
      If you received over $50.000 and you only needed $25.000 call your lender.
      If you lost your vehicle to breaking down or repo...contact your lender, and for crying out loud don’t buy a expensive car....only do that when you’re lender is almost paid off and your business is making good money.
      This is what the program is made for....personally I think the ppp program should’ve been made for small p businesses only.
      Make a separate program for bigger companies.

    This is what continues to confuse me...couldn't these ppl have "paid themselves" first then bought anything under the sun. Whether it was groceries or a lambo lol. I understand the people that don't have a business or falsify records to get it. But the rest is what scares me on spending ours for our trucking business. If we payroll it all out. Then that payroll money can or can't be used for personal expenses? i.e catch up on some old medical payments we fell behind on during pandemic 🤔

    • @ClaraCFO
      @ClaraCFO  3 роки тому +1

      If we put aside the fact that these people got the money by committing fraud, the next "control" on crazy spending with PPP is that no owner can get more than $20,833 per PPP loan. Even if they pay themselves legally with it, that will just be a payment or two on a Lambo ;)

    Thank you for taking the time to do these videos I really do appreciate you unfortunately for me I still don’t have the understanding to do a loan it scares me to think that I’m a steak that I may make could put me in jail
    My story is that I was a independent contractor a gig driver but not just for Lyft I drove for two other companies called hop skip drive and ZUM these two companies were for taking kids to school home or other events that they may have paid better than Lyft but on March 13, 2020 Ally unified school District closed all their schools and I was out of work I did apply for unemployment and received it and I never drove again in September 2020 I had to sell my new car at a loss to pay it off because it sat and collected cobwebs instead of kids or adults doing Lyft I do feel that I deserved some sort of loan up until that time but I just don’t have the understanding as to how to go about it and to justify it what do you think I should do I pay taxes and have bank statements I’m just scared
