That's a very nice fix. I was looking at our 2010 D100 today and noticed those pins looked like they could be a future failure point. Good information to know for when they inevitably break. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for that, was just looking at purchasing a new hood inners, and it was $258 American... Mine needs repairs to the parts that clip on to the cab also... But that will get me started... Moral of the story, don't lend your tractor out... Mine came back in rough shape... But anyhow, thanks for that Buddy, that will fix one of my many needed repairs..
I did something very similar, I used a 3/8-16 bolt, drilled the plastic out to 5/16 then tapped the plastic apply glue to the threads, then thread in until you are at 10 mills.
My solution involved mounting the hood on top of my house and driving the mower around the block to see who noticed. Nobody wondered why the hood was next to Santa Claus and the Easter Rabbit, so I guess they have me figured out.
My hood has hood pins but I need to replace the plastic mounting piece that those pins hook into. Do you by chance know the part number for it? Mine is missing it completely so my hood just rests on the top of the mower.
Thanks. Broke mine off yesterday.
You’re one of many showing this fix but yours is far and away the most straightforward. Thank you.
Thanks for a great concise repair video for a JD 100 Series Hood.

I used bolts and cut the heads off.
