Hey Lori, friend from Tank Ritual, I alway look at video history and of course, lemon sugar scrub caught my eye! I may have to halve the recipe, but it looks awesome!
Hello Lisa! This stuff really is wonderful and I have been using it for years now. I’m excited for you to try it and let me know what you think. Thank you so much, Lori.
This is one of my favourite videos ever, I usually watch it before bed. I find your voice and the whole scrub making process so therapeutic and calming. Thank you!
Thank you so much for not adding music over your talking. This is the third channel I've gone to trying to learn about these scrubs. People add music they like, as loud as they like, to their videos not thinking about whether we (the people) will be able to listen to it. :-)

Hi there. Really enjoy watching your videos. I made some of this using your recipe and it went really hard. Am I doing something wrong? Should I add another oil? Thanks.
sounds really good, however, I am a bit worried about the photosensitivity of lemon oil and all other citrus oils. Can you really use this scrub daily and then go out in the sun?
Hello Patricia! I have used this for about 20 years and have never had any problems with that. You could always test a small area of your skin or ask your doctor because everyone is different. Thank you, Lori.
Hello Daisy! You don’t have to refrigerate and it’s never separated on me before. Thank you for watching and please remember to like and subscribe, Lori.
Hello Kiki! I’m so glad that you will give this a try and you will love it. I can’t live without my sugar scrubs. I appreciate you watching and please remember sharing is caring. Thank you, Lori.
Love it, Girl, QUESTION I just ordered shea butter and other stuff to make whipped butter creams and arror root powder and mica color powder from Amazon. can I use shea butter if I don't have the coconut oil? .
Hi Pamela! I’ve never used Shea butter or made any butter creams. This is the only beauty product I have ever made and wish I could answer your questions. I would search UA-cam for creams using Shea butter. You might be able to use Shea butter for the body scrub depending on how well it melts and incorporates with the sugar. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Thanks for sharing this lovely video. If I may ask, where do I get small mason jars and essential oils at an economical price? (making for a bulk). Any suggestions? Thanks!
Hi Roshni! I purchase everything from Amazon including the jars, the coconut oil, and essential oils. Here is the link for the Mason Jars. www.amazon.com/Silver-Canning-Storage-Pickling-Pickles/dp/B08BR6G62H/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?crid=3SV9E23ZB62JS&keywords=mason+jars+8+oz&qid=1677620485&sprefix=mason+%2Caps%2C244&sr=8-14. Here’s the link to my Amazon Affiliate Shop and I have all the oils there to purchase. www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-5ef69f14. Thank you for watching, Lori.
I made as shown on the video, but it turns hard, even though it is in a sealed mason jar, because you are using solid coconut oil and melting it instead of fractionated coconut oi which is already a liquid. Is it supposed to be solid? If you used another oil, such as the fractionated oil or jojoba, it would be more moist. How is it supposed to turn out? Thanks.
i want to thank you for your video. i had another lemon sugar scrub saved and somehow the link isn't working. but your's seems so close. i think i used olive oil, sugar, lemon essential oil and possible vitamin E and D. (i added those on my own.). and a drop of yellow food color to give it a good yellow color. over the past few years, it come in handy for my daughter and her friends who are in the health field, always washing their hands. they all loved it. i love to use it for my whole body and it softens lips so much. so, now it is time to make a few more batches. before i do, i have a few questions if you can help please. why do you use glass bowl and wood spoon? i usually use stainless bowl and scilicone scraper. and after you melt the coconut oil does it harden again when it cools? i thank you for your time.
Hello there! I’m happy you enjoyed the video and I use a glass bowl just out of habit and the wooden spoon helps to mix all the ingredients. The coconut oil does harden when it cools. This is my go to body scrub and it smells heavenly. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Hello there! I’ve never used preservatives for my Lemon Scrub and it lasts me about 3 months which is about how long it takes to use one jar and I also sold it for many years. I’m not sure how much would be needed since it’s a homemade recipe. I’m sorry. I appreciate you watching, Lori.
I noticed there was either jojoba or almond oil sitting there and something else, what are they and can u use those in the scrubb as Well? Yes, be careful if you go out in the sun with all the lemon scents that you use a sunscreen or u can burn easily.
Hello and welcome, there Jennifer. It's just like any other scrubs you use srub and just rinse of remembering you want to leave the oil in your skin the sugar will dissolve once it gets wet and pat dry. If you feel that is too much oil just use it as like any lotion you use to rub it gently on your body. Thank you, Lori.
@@craftingwithhwm hi Lori, so yes theoretically you could massage the scrub into your skin, add warm water, scrub up a while ....then just leave to dry out and moisturise skin. !! Bonus. No wastage down plughole ! ☺
Thank you for video, can't wait to try this! One question tho, since it will be used in the shower why can't you use plastic instead of glass? You mentioned because of the essential oil, but if you omit that is plastic ok?
Hi Sylvia! I wish I could answer your question but I’ve never used preservatives before and wouldn’t know how much. You can search for videos on UA-cam and I’m sure you can find a video. I’m sorry and appreciate you watching, Lori.
Hello, there Chris. It is really up to the personal preferences, I like to do exfoliate every other day or when it is needed. It depends on the person. I have a lot of my costumer that buy them constantly. Its made with a really high-quality essential oil and leaves your skin nice and soft, of course, anyone could use it every day and the skin starts to change. If, you have any more questions, feel free to contact me. Don't forget to like and share. Thank you, Lori.
I didn't see the lemon or the vanilla oil in your store??? and where can you find the cute little latch on it? Can't wait to make and share this scrub. Thank you ......B
I purchased the oils from Eden Garden follow this link www.edensgarden.com/collections/single-oils You will love the sugar scrub. I purchased the container from walmart. Let me know if you have any questions when you make it. Have fun making the scrub.
i love lemon which is what caught my eye! sounds fabulous especially since its almost time for warmer weather. i however cannot help but want to add color which i do in most of my products. how do you feel about adding micas or dyes to this? Im learning and for the most part like natural except for colors and i will use fragrance oils for my more gimmicky products. just wondering your thoughts about using color in general to something you would be applying daily to your skin possibly. Thanks and great tutorial! you have a new subscriber!
You could probably use other natural ingredients to colour it (for example, use turmeric to give it a yellow colour, etc) not only would that make Ur products more beneficial for the skin, but it also to a customer, it would seem better than using other colouring agents. (especially since some people might not know that mica is natural)
Why don’t you try an inexpensive (Approximately $15) digital scale from Amazon. Then you wouldn’t have to mess around with your Coconut Oil moving it from one container to another. I like your recipe the Lemon Zest is a Brilliant Idea! But, for a better exfoliation, you should have used a mixture of white sugar and raw sugar.
@Linda BTDT Oo! A mixture of white sugar and raw sugar sounds like a good idea! I was hoping maybe you would have suggestions for us as to if it would just be two cups of that mixture?
Hi Margaret! This scrub is intended for the body and I don’t use it on my face. Anytime you exfoliate your face, it’s important you use sunscreen. I hope that helps. Thank you, Lori.
Never melt cold press coconut oil in the microwave! You Change and ruin the oils Properties!! I don’t heat my oil, I mix everything by hand like your doing, it just takes more elbow grease!! I did your recipe without heat!
Hello Netty! This is just the way I have been doing it for 20 years but you can do what works best for you. I just wanted to share the recipe with everyone because I love it so much. Thank you, Lori.
Hello and welcome, to my channel, Rosaura. I hope you do make it and will like it, let me know how it turns out. Don't forget to like and share. Thank you, Lori.
Hi Chela! I’m glad you love my recipe and I don’t put anything in it because it lasts me 3 months and I always finish it long before that but you can definitely add something if you would like. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Guys i am saving ur time Step 1-add sugar 2-coconut oil 3-mix mix and mix 4-vanila essence(if u need) 5-grate lemon(ahh tht was awkard i never grated a lemon but sge does it so gud bye bye)😆😆😆
Hello Negin! That’s way gives me the best results and mixing everything together all at once didn’t work for me but that’s just the way I do it. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Hello Anna! I have never had an issue with that and been using this for 20+ years but the lemon peel is more used for scent so you could use lemon extract in its place if it’s a concern. I hope that helps. Thank you, Lori.
@@craftingwithhwm thank you yes i might try the extract, i love your recipe i watched it many times but haven't try it yet sounds so amazing for the skin, thank you!!!
I will send you the link here Sue you will also find all the essential oils there as well. Don't forget to like and share. Thank you, Lori. www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-5ef69f14
Hello and welcome, there Ana. If you leave out it needs to be at room temperature and also keep it covered. If you leave it out uncover it will dry out, must be in an airtight container. You can add more coconut oil to lose it up. Don't forget to like and share. Thank you, Lori.
I know it has been a couple of years since you made this video, but my question is not about the benefits to your skin, but what effect does this scrub have on the drain pipes/sewer system? Whether it be city sewers or septic systems with drain-fields. Coconut oil has a lower melting temperature but also solidifies at a low temp also, which would mean in would coagulate on drain pipes. Just curious as to how people deal with this, is it a problem?
Hello Roxanne! I have been using it for over 15 years and I haven’t had a problem but you can search online if you want more information about that. I don’t want to speak on something I’m not familiar with. Thank you, Lori.
Roxanne Strauss this is no different than rinsing your sink after making a cake etc. Essential oils are natural Ingredients and so is everything else in here. I would be interest to know where your research is from. I asked my husband who is a chemical and nuclear engineer he said it would not damage our pipes.
It probably won't "damage" sewer pipes, but will definitely clog them up. When we shower, water is at temps that melt coconut oil, but that warm temp does not carry through. So, at some point, coconut oil solidifies again.
Hello Roxanne! The solution to it is to use fractionated coconut oil which is in liquid form and does not go back to solid even at cold temperatures. That problem really only happens if the pipes are cold if the water is cold and I live in a very warm place and take hot showers so it’s never a problem for me. Thank you, Lori.
Hello Mercy! I don’t use any preservatives and make mine fresh every 3 to 6 months but you can search UA-cam to see what others use on theirs. Thank you, Lori.
Hello and welcome, there Arixx. Yes, make it and let me know how you like it. I have a lot of clients that love it. Don't forget to like and share. Thank you, Lori.
coconut oil is quite cheap actually. i bought the kind she is using in this tutorial and think it was around 4 or 5 dollars for a big jar. I dont know about the vegetable oil. Id think it would be too greasy but im no expert. :)
I did not see that you used " fractionated coconut oil". My mistake, I guess. Not everybody lives in a warm temp, as you do. I didn't hear that in your video, "Recommended for only warm temp regions" ...
It’s listed as an option in the description. This video is just to share my favorite recipe. It is always suggested that people do their own research on anything. I do not make any claims on whether this is the best method just my favorite.
Hi Patsy! I sometimes do but only after testing on a small area to make sure it doesn’t irritate my skin. The skin on your face is very sensitive so just use caution if you do. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Hi Maria! I would say about 3 months since I don’t use any preservatives however I finish mine fairly quickly because it’s the greatest scrub. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Hello Amal! This is the best exfoliator for the skin and I have been using it for over 15 years. Thank you for watching and please remember to like and subscribe. Lori
Hi! I made this and it's really lovely on the skin. The only thing I found, is that the day after I made it, it had solidified quite a lot (I'm in the uk, it's cold!), it did still work but just wondering, as I'd like to make some for gifts if there is another type of oil that anyone can recommend which won't solidify but has the same affect? Would castor oil be any good?
Hello there! I’m so glad you loved it and I use it all the time. It’s my favorite scrub. I’ve never made it with any other oil but I think Olive Oil would work great. It has a lot of benefits. I hope that helps. Thank you, Lori.
I have never refrigerated my scrubs because I use them in the first few months but I don’t think it will be a problem. I would try refrigerating a small amount just to test it out. Thank you, Lori.
Hi Candi! Brown sugar wouldn’t be coarse enough which is why the majority of scrubs out there use granulated sugar. I hope that makes sense. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Love this video and my scrub, too. Smells so good and my hands are super soft! Thanks for pampering me
So glad you love it Holly! You are worth it!

Good call, Tracy! Lemon is actually bad for skin, it's an irritant and should not be in skin care products.
Kristen Kruse I use lemon on my feet and my face never had a problem with it.. but I wouldn’t use it on my other body parts 😬
Guys, don't microwave your coconut oil! it kills all the good stuff in there! melt it on a radiator or double boiler :)

Hello and welcome, there Tolu. Yes, you may. You will love it, so much. Don't forget to like and share. Thank you, Lori.
Looks wonderful! Thank you for sharing. Happy Holidays : )
Hello and welcome, there Dottie. Thank you, very much. I wish you, the same, Lori.
I will, and thank you
i love lemon which is what caught my eye! sounds fabulous especially since its almost time for warmer weather. i however cannot help but want to add color which i do in most of my products. how do you feel about adding micas or dyes to this? Im learning and for the most part like natural except for colors and i will use fragrance oils for my more gimmicky products. just wondering your thoughts about using color in general to something you would be applying daily to your skin possibly. Thanks and great tutorial! you have a new subscriber!
You could probably use other natural ingredients to colour it (for example, use turmeric to give it a yellow colour, etc) not only would that make Ur products more beneficial for the skin, but it also to a customer, it would seem better than using other colouring agents. (especially since some people might not know that mica is natural)
Hi
Why don’t you try an inexpensive (Approximately $15) digital scale from Amazon. Then you wouldn’t have to mess around with your Coconut Oil moving it from one container to another. I like your recipe the Lemon Zest is a Brilliant Idea! But, for a better exfoliation, you should have used a mixture of white sugar and raw sugar.
@Linda BTDT Oo! A mixture of white sugar and raw sugar sounds like a good idea! I was hoping maybe you would have suggestions for us as to if it would just be two cups of that mixture?
I made it n it work very well but I noticed sunburn on my face
@@craftingwithhwm , I understand that! I do like your recipe. It mixed well for me with out the melting, Do you have any new scents?
Wow!!!! I'm going to try this. Thank you for sharing. Have a bless day....

Hi. I love you recipe. Do you add a conservative to it?
Hi Chela! I’m glad you love my recipe and I don’t put anything in it because it lasts me 3 months and I always finish it long before that but you can definitely add something if you would like. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Hi
Can i use the shea butter instead of the coconut oil?
Hi Victoria! I’ve never used Shea butter and I don’t know if it would be fluid enough but it might work. Thank you for watching, Lori.

I think you really love mixing. Why dont tou just pour all the stuff first then mix them all together the video is more asmr of mixing
Hello Negin! That’s way gives me the best results and mixing everything together all at once didn’t work for me but that’s just the way I do it. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Hard Working Mom thank youu for saying that 🌿
Was the vanilla oil also by Eden Garden?
Hi Jenny and yes I believe it was. Thank you, Lori.
😍 can u please make a video using the jojoba oil or sweet almond oil?
I will definitely try to do a video of that soon. Thank you, Lori.
How much sweet almond oil do u use
i love it thank you!! i have to ask what the possibility of bacteria growth because of the fresh lemon peel?
I tried to go to your Amazon link but it says it is closed. What brand essential oil do you use?

I made it for my mom and sister! (: they loved it so much that I been making them a batch every week. It’s so easy and fun thank you!
Dang.....coconut oil is way to expensive as well as the others u mentioned. All I have here is a Safeway and everything here is expensive
JoDee, search around online and see if you could find some even from Walmart. Search online. Thank you 😊
Amazon
Trader Joe's
Dallor Tree has 16 oz jars for a buck
This got rock hard overnight? How do i soften it?

I did do a search, results were not very favorable, thank you Lori!
How do l preserve it to have a long shelf life?
Hello Mercy! I don’t use any preservatives and make mine fresh every 3 to 6 months but you can search UA-cam to see what others use on theirs. Thank you, Lori.
Pleas is suker do’sent melt ?eny way tnanku you for share your viedio💞
Hi Ronak! No the sugar doesn’t melt and you will love the scrub. Thank you for watching, Lori.
@@craftingwithhwm tnanku very much i will try for sure 😊
Love it and is easy simple/ not just for gifts but for me too 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Hello and welcome, there Arixx. Yes, make it and let me know how you like it. I have a lot of clients that love it. Don't forget to like and share. Thank you, Lori.
Where we should keep it?? In refrigerator or in any room temperature area...
Hello Varsha! You can just keep it in a cabinet or under your sink and it will be fine. Thank you, Lori.
Hard Working Mom Thanks for replying back. Can I make it a week before for gifting? I have to to 20 jars. So I cannot make at the last moment.
I think I've found my sugar scrub for me to try...this is an easy and awesome recipe thanks for sharing
Oh you are so welcome and I think you will really love it. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Like it, but video was so long.
Hello Olens! I’m happy you like the video and thank you for watching, Lori.
Can I use raw oats ? Instead of sugar ?
Hello there! I only make sugar scrubs that only work with sugar but you might be able to find a recipe out there. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Its super easy and very very nice
Used this product and my hands n feet feeling super soft
I might try this lemon sugar scrub! It probably smells amazing
Can Sea Salt be used instead of Sugar?
i am on a tight budget can i use vegetable oil instead of coconut oil?
coconut oil is quite cheap actually. i bought the kind she is using in this tutorial and think it was around 4 or 5 dollars for a big jar. I dont know about the vegetable oil. Id think it would be too greasy but im no expert. :)
I think lard would be ok but wont smell as good as coconut
If u have a dollar tree around you ,you can get some there I like it
thank you i will go there tomorrow
I did not see that you used " fractionated coconut oil". My mistake, I guess. Not everybody lives in a warm temp, as you do. I didn't hear that in your video, "Recommended for only warm temp regions" ...
It’s listed as an option in the description. This video is just to share my favorite recipe. It is always suggested that people do their own research on anything. I do not make any claims on whether this is the best method just my favorite.
Do you also use this on your face?
Hi Patsy! I sometimes do but only after testing on a small area to make sure it doesn’t irritate my skin. The skin on your face is very sensitive so just use caution if you do. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Hi, how long is the shelf life?
Hi Maria! I would say about 3 months since I don’t use any preservatives however I finish mine fairly quickly because it’s the greatest scrub. Thank you for watching, Lori.
does this exfoliate the skin?
Can I add preservative to it to store for longer like four months
Hello Nene! My scrubs last about 3 to 4 months without preservatives so you should be fine but yes that would be an option. Thank you, Lori.
Thanks ma
is it powder sugar?
I don't think so
Granulated Sugar
Absolutely not
Is it a bad idea to squeeze the lemon juice in it and refrigerate?
I have never refrigerated my scrubs because I use them in the first few months but I don’t think it will be a problem. I would try refrigerating a small amount just to test it out. Thank you, Lori.
Hard Working Mom Thank you ❤️
Can you use brown sugar?
Hi Candi! Brown sugar wouldn’t be coarse enough which is why the majority of scrubs out there use granulated sugar. I hope that makes sense. Thank you for watching, Lori.
Where do you get your oils
Hello there! I have them in my Amazon shop and here is the link. www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-5ef69f14/list/3H7NL43QJ942F. Thank you, Lori.
Cannot wait to try this one!! THANKS.
