Have to say, I love the new rule changes. The All Ireland final was like watching paint dry. This is exciting football. Teams should set up around with 45 now and take advantage of the 2 pointers. The Aidan O'Shea point against Leinster reminded of Maurice Fitzgerald back in the day, pure class.
A great job ...and only early days . Tweek ...one point for a 50/45. It will help stop the holding on to ball after a foul and cut out guff to ref. More precise kicking skills will be developed. Great to see good forwards shine when they are not being hounded by half the opposition....some great 1 on 1 plays.
Personally for me, I think a goal should be worth 4 and I think the 2 point arc isn't great. Scoring goals should be the priority for adding points to the board. I prefer 2 players from both teams in the throw up - I think it's very unique and I love the physicality. Solo & go is good but the 3/6 people being stuck behind a white line doesn't work at all.
I agree with you here. I’d add that the goalkeeper also shouldn’t be able to cross the half way line and I’d have 35minute halves to maintain the flow of the game.
I think the arc is a good thing. Long range point scoring is an attractive feature of the game. Why should someone fisting over from 15 yards get the same reward.
@@shaneheff5244 Yeah 100%. Why can't they just use the 45 meter line for that though? Then 45's would also be worth 2. It does just massively over complicate everything.
@NosajKnows Because the 45 goes straight across the pitch instead of an arc. Most shots to the side would end up 50-50 metres which is outside the team range of most kickers.
Keep three players back is a great rule. I want to see specialised forwards and backs. These days players are marathon runners that fist pass the ball. Boring! Fitness should not be the primary skill in the game. If you want that go do athletics.
Gaelic Football should be about forward oriented Football. People don't want to be going to games and watching crab football especially with the cost of attending games. Boring. GPA has too much say. The over hand passing, backwards and sidewards, is killing Gaelic Football.
Stop changing the rules. The great games for me are the tight , competitive games of the past where no quarter is given like Kerry Tyrone games of 03, 05, 08 , Donegal Kildare in a fantastic AI semi final. High scoring games are tedious. New scoring system could lead to cricket scores against weaker teams. I'd trial the 3 forwards up change and abandon everything else. Football needs physical contact.

@@dannyd96 Nah you can't do that to them, they're just as good at scoring points as the rest. I think maybe 20 minutes quarters or 40 minute halves?

Well spoken by Mr Forker. Club trials would have been more informative
