The most beautiful trek, especially in spring when Rhododendrons are in full bloom. Walking under a canopy of rhododendron laden tress and a trail embellished with fallen petals has been a memory of a lifetime ♥️
This was like a mind relaxing therapy session 😍thanks aloooooooooooooootttttt for the team for making such an amazing video 🙏 we need more videos like this plzz 🙏
Last week me bhi chopta gaya tha lekin snowfall itna tha ki hum chopta phuch hi nahi paye..to hum. deoria tal gaya the , live snowfall hone se bahut maja aa gaya ..
Recently had been to tunganath last month, area had a lot of snow. Unfortunately chandrashila was not possible as route was not visible due to heavy snowfall.
Hi, yes. It's a good time to witness rhododendron. They might not be in full bloom as it's early spring but we have been expecting early bloom as well this year. So you will get to witness good amount of rhodos:)
Generally people reach Chopta by means of some vehicle and then trek to Tunganath and Chandrashila Is the route that you mentioned above a special one? Like, can we do it ourselves? Any special pass needed which only a trekking company can get?
Yes, this is a wonderful trekking trail and a good alternative to the road journey from Sari to Chopta. The forest section in between is incredible. You can trek on your own, but you have to get permission from the forest dept. to enter the National park.
Take a local guide along or hike with India hikes. The trail is full of wild animals and the section around Rohini right until Chopta is bear prone. Also, there is a point where you have to climb down after rohini to Akash Kamini. People sometimes end up missing it and get lost while soloing. So, do the first attempt with trustable guides or organisations such as IH.
Hi Vaibhav, yes. Spring is a great time to to Deoriatal Chandrashila as the whole trail blazes with rhododendron flowers. It's a beautiful experience. Check out for the dates here - indiahikes.com/deoriatal-chandrashila-trek#view-dates
Hi Vikas, yes. Infact, more than December end, we would suggest late Jan or Feb if you want to experience the snow. The added advantage is less crowd on the trail which helps you experience the trek in its true form:)
Hi, you can do Deoriatal Chandrashila trek in December. It's a good time. We do have the groups open for December. Check it out here - indiahikes.com/deoriatal-chandrashila-trek
What exact time of the year is recommended for a warm and greenery lush experience.... been on kedarkantha trek and have had enough cold for myself tbh😂
Definitely May and June! There won't be snow, the meadows will be beautifully green, the days will be warm. The nights will still be cold, you'll need only 3 warm layers though -- not the 5 layers that you usually need for winter.
I did this trek last year.. I would suggest April 2nd/ 3rd week.. it won't be cold, but you will see a lot of rhododendrons... only syami camp will be little cold in the evening.

Do I need a guide if I start the Chandrashila top journey from Chopta at 3 am in the morning?or the trail is laid down itself
You do not need any guide. There is a concrete steps/ path way up to chandrashila.
Can I do this trek in the month of Dec End or Jan.

Hi, i am planning on dec 25
It is good time?
Yes, definitely it's a wonderful time. It's the onset of winter. Chances of snow and snowfall are high at that time.
Tungnath temple is open that time
