Your first knee video made my hiking 100% better. I did scare myself running down the mountain but I was so energized I had to hold myself back from going back up. Thank you so much for that.
Dear Swati, Thanks for these videos. I am going to be doing Sandakphu trek in the next 45 days. My first Himalayan trek after 11 years and now at the age of 60. All videos are real gems in helping me get ready for the sleeping Buddha. God bless you.
It’s nice to watch this. I went up on ghare hira and ghare soor in Makkah, I didn’t have any training no hicking sticks, and after climbing the 2 mountains my knees were gone I was in horrible pain.
Yeah knees have to be taken care of. They are fragile. Great video. One thing, during treks when my feet muscles are stiff, may not be possible to do stretching exercise. Instead I shake my legs and loosen them. And slowly massage all points that are paining.
45-60 days work out is must prior going to hard trek...one must also understand that while doing a hard trek a lot of you body fat burns easily and that's why one you are are back from these hard treks you feel very light weighted...consume at least 2-3 spoons of clarified butter in the morning to avoid knee pain
Warm up well but Do Not Stretch before strenuous physical activity, only stretch afterwards. Also, don't trust a stranger (Le Me) on the internet but do your own research to cross check and confirm the point made. Happy trekking!
Hi Rekha, we don't have a video on this. But one of our team members had a knee injury and needed to recover before a trek. She wrote this extremely useful guide. There are exercises listed down too. Do take a look - indiahikes.com/how-to-recover-from-knee-injury/
This post will help you with that - indiahikes.com/mountaineering-course-in-india/ It's been written by someone who did extensive research before doing his own Mountaineering course.
-Hi Amali, we suggest you visit the nearest Decathlon store to shop your braces. Just make sure that while trying them out you try them on your pants, as that’s how you would wear it on trek. It’s the best way to check the right fit of braces!
If person having lower back pain how these exercise will help rather they might hurt our back further. Kindly show some exercises which will not affect back.
Hey. Where do I get knee braces from? Do Decathlon sells it? If not ,where do I get it from and which ones would be best for me. Thanks for all your videos. You're awesome.
If you're using it just as a precaution, then yes, Decathlon has one. You could pick that up. If you have a known medical issue, then it's best to consult a doctor.
@@Indiahikes I don't really have any known issue but I think knee braces supports your knee a lot so I was thinking of getting one. Can you use these braces during the ascend and descend both?

If you're swimming, it depends on how consistently you can swim. Only if you're a regular swimmer, who can do 10-15 laps, it would help build your stamina. If you're a casual swimmer, we would recommend sticking to running.
I suffered from a meniscus tear one year back, now it is okay and I am training hard for my first trek. Should I do anything different from the stuff you mentioned (already doing all those things)?
Hi Bhuvan, if you are following all the fitness regime we have mentioned, it’s good enough. However, it’s better to check with your physician once if you can go on a trek.
Can you please make a video with stretches which we can do before and After trek. It will be really helpful in day to day life as well. Thanks a lot! P.S: Love your videos..keep up the good work!

it is natural for that to happen if we don't do regular running. You can reduce the stress by doing some light stretching or exercises daily.
