I love when David is on the podcast, then again we kinda love everyone at the team, I'd love it if more of them showed up more often alongside Andrew and/or Marques :D
38:00 The point of voice messages is to get the intonation, annunciation, and/or timing, etc., that you can't get with text. So, I can't figure out why you would want this.
Hey, Rcs Dev here.. a couple of things to correct.. ABC - Apple Business Chat came as a response to Google and Facebook B2C (Business to Customer) approach. The RBM (Rich Business Messaging) has been around on Google Messages and Whatsapp/Messenger for a while with richer features. [Tiles, Carousal, Buttons, App icon integrations, etc] The default messaging application on many Android devices is Messages by Google. The Chat feature is asked to be enabled when opening the app and we have found many users enabling just for read receipts. RCS is being used by many users without users actually knowing. There is also an abundant of users outside of the US who are used to B2C on WhatsApp along with Messages by Google. The term when talking to business would be a RBM agent. Either a automated bot collecting conversational data, or a handoff to CC (Contact Center) that will connect to agent to message you.
I had the same issue of 10% with Nothing Ear (1). Luckily, was under warranty I got it replaced but it seriously puts a big doubts on the company. But after replacement, for past 5 months I don't have any issues.
The new features of Google Messages that David is talking about, almost all of those, added for message/emoji reaction & specific message reply have been there on Teams (and a few other apps) for a while now. The All/Personal/Business tabs in Messages seems to be inspired from SMS Organizer (from MS, practically the best SMS app out there). I don't mind, these are good features to add.
39:00 Andrew, a lot of Spanish speakers use audio messages all the time. I would say that some use it more than texting. It’s more convenient to share long messages that way and voice to text is usually not good at transcribing certain Spanish dialects.
@@david_03.13 haha yeah I lived in Spain for a while and I have a lot of Latino friends, that’s how I know haha but it’s so strange because my English speaking friends never use it
Surprised that David didn't know MODEM full instantly. He's so knowledgeable about tech stuff and definitely fun when hes on the podcast. Total keeper.
The pencil adapter is just so offensive tbh. First off, the fact that they charge you at all for the pencil is a crime in itself seeing how Samsung gives it for free and it has everything Apple's does (including Apple's "new" hover feature), and the S Pen actually has 7ms faster latency. The $9 adapter is just more packaging, more deliveries that need to be made, and eventually more e-waste
There isn’t much point to USB C if the speed is still USB 2 speeds might as well have stuck with lightning for another year instead of pretending there was an improvement.
I want the nothing ear 1s to be good so bad but they constantly lose connection, and get out of sync. They also randomly drop connection multiple times during listening sessions. I also have had the same problem of only one ear bud charing over night.
Good to hear Google is FINALLY getting their sh!t together with messages. These features should have been introduced 10 years ago, instead of creating and killing duo, meets, hangouts, meets (again?), alo etc. People love to blame Apple for the green/blue bubble thing, but this is Google's incompetence and fault.
Sometimes the contacts for the headphones get dirty and will not charge right. A Qtip with isopropyl alcohol whipped on the contacts for the headphones and the case might fix the issue.
Didn't mention the new Messages update coming with a pretty significant logo change (which looks more like iMessage's logo), which brings it (as well as Phone and Contacts, which also received new logos) into "logo-parity" with the rest of the Google suite of apps.
It’s the connection between the earphones and the charging case. Sometimes my AirPod pros do that, I just wiggle the headphones while in the case to help the connection
I always have problems connecting any type of Airpod with my iPhone. I have a Fitbit connected and for some reason Aipods cant connect while Sony and other earbuds connect with 0 problems.
31:10 as an iPhone user that’s probably the smartest thing google could do, apple might was well fix it now. It’s hurting iPhone users more than anyone
It’s only an artificial limitation insofar as they did not need to include the landscape camera. There is obviously no way to have both the charging coil and the camera on the same side. This is why the iPad Pros do not have the camera there. Also, there is another difference between the iPad 10 and the iPad Air 4. The iPad 10 STILL does not have a laminated display.
the camera view on marques and andrew is jittery or lagging whereas the view on austin as well as the centre view is fine...is this a technical issue or some FPS easter egg??
Andrew is literally every android user. Android just has so many features that many times we dont register even if a feature has been around for a while. Apple on the other hand celebrates every small feature so much that even a grandma can't miss it.
I have the exact same problem with ear phones and running! I sometimes opt for over ear headphones if it's not too hot out but feel there's a gap in the market for someone to swoop in
Great to see Dave on again! Woohoo! I suggest trying the Jabra Elite 7 actives (or one of their older active models). My wife and I both use them for our runs and weight training. They sound great (customizable), stay in-ear very well for both of us with no wing-tips, are comfortable, IP57 rated, and have multi-point connection. I tried the first and second generation AirPod Pros and couldn’t get either to stay in my ears.
Live in West Virginia. I picked up the Fold 4. Never saw a fold\flip in the wild before. Now, a month later, I know someone else who got the Fold 4 and ive seen 6 people with the Flip in the wild. They're starting to pop off.
I’ve had the same experience with my airpods pro where the buds don’t charge even when they are in the case I have to pull them out and put them back again and again for it to work
Guys, I think something is wrong with the camera shooting Marques's side. Definitely not 30 FPS. (Or if it's Adam's editing. Don't worry about it. You're doing great, Adam. )
Same issue with the "wing tip/Google buds" style and also have to use the stem style earbuds. I recommend the latest or last gens LG Tone's F8/F9 and T90 they sound great and are sweat resistant
Impressed with David! Didn't think he gets this technical and has insane product knowledge off the cuff. Marques clearly tries to make a 1 or 2 line summary of a product then point back to it constantly during the review (see: poor use of space video). David is good at that too...pointing out that the high end products needed dongles now the cheaper ones do, and other times
Is the camera recording Marques and Andrew on a different frame rate. Looks so weird. First I thought my display is behaving weird but Austin's angle looked fine.
Why the video is choppy for the MKBHD segment! is it the camera issue? Because Austin's video is smooth as previous footages. is it final rendering issue?
Three or four times I've picked up my PowerBeats Pro, and one will be at 100%, the other barely charged. The problem with those are the case. If they get slightly jostled around in there, and don't sit in the charger just right, one will not connect to charge. You have to be really careful with them. And all that joy for $200!
For the iPad having the 3foot cable adaptor, I think it is meant for using the Apple pencil Gen. 1 to draw/write on the iPad while it is charging.. but I am just guessing
I switched from Android to iPhone a couple weeks ago. I'm still using my OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2 earbuds and my old Sony WH-CH700N over ear headphones that I used with my 12/256 OnePlus 7 Pro Nebula Blue. I haven't decided if I want the AirPods or the Beats yet. My main issue is that there aren't more brand choices in earphones and buds that work with iOS like Android has.
The ipad air should just be the budget iPad or base iPad at this point. Drop the price to $400, Ipad Air is now the new base. Then have the mini and the Pro's. Done. Way too many iPad versions as is.

I've been using them dialy for almost a year now, I had the problem 10-20 times but It hasn't been happening anymore since August
I always thought this was a connecting issue? When I came across this problem, I would pop them out and back in and they were fine.
@@kleanish it was such an annoying experience. I had the experience when I updated the firmware early 2022. FInally I got it replaced!
I literally threw mine in the dust bin. The company needs to sort out the reliability issue
Love how much Austin knows and remembers so much about marques.

A bunch of them, also on whatsapp

it's before their time, just like they didn't know sony trinitron. totally understandable
Don’t say anything too obvious

3:38 that’s not true AirPods Pro will let you swap with a difference case you just need to hold down the back button to put in pairing mode
okay marques' anecdote with the htc thunderbolt was so cool!
31:07 "How the turns have tabled." What lol
love the podcast. One thing that really annoyed me though; the camera on marques and andrew is at a slower framerate for some reason eg at 59:58.
31:06 "how the turns have tabled"
"A LinkedIn without all the poor people on it" 😂 Andrew hit us with pure comedy right there

What's the timeline for these message features?

David is high quality and must become a permanent participant
It’s the connection between the earphones and the charging case. Sometimes my AirPod pros do that, I just wiggle the headphones while in the case to help the connection
The issue which you had in Nothing Ear (1)
I have the same issue in Airpod Pro
the messages for business has been around forever on Android but it's Maps and Search. it's now coming to messages, that is what makes it new.
I have frequent issues with the ear1. sometimes the left one won't connect when I pick it up from the case. apart from the 10% issue.
Same here but with right one
I always have problems connecting any type of Airpod with my iPhone. I have a Fitbit connected and for some reason Aipods cant connect while Sony and other earbuds connect with 0 problems.

is it just me or is the framerate a bit off at the section starting arorund minute 49 to 1 hour 13
They changed the position of the camera?
It’s only an artificial limitation insofar as they did not need to include the landscape camera. There is obviously no way to have both the charging coil and the camera on the same side. Galaxy Buds plus! Best workout buds. Hiked the entire PCT TRAIL with them. * if you don't need ANC. $50-60 on sale if you can still find them.
Glad not a single UA-camr realized the iPad 9th gen is still being sold

I know I'm late, please use SMS organizer from Microsoft for it's features. It doesn't support RCS but does somethings insanely well.
Ayyy we got David again!

+1 for Jabra. Using the Elite 85t for lifting and they are really great. Not really a runner, but they sit really good in my ears.
MTW3 from Sennheiser also. Good fit for the gym.
Would really help if these were numbered.
Actually the air 4 and the 10th gen do have different screens. The 10th gen is non laminated and SRgb but the air is p3
