First. (and late) Sorry we're late this week thanks for your patience! We had a horrible time exporting but eventually figured it out. Let the weekend begin!
if someone made some sort of webservice that could serve such a feature, if the ability to 'train' the r1 to use different apps gets released, it shouldn't be hard to incorporate
After 10 clicks I landed on the Pencast Ep 68. I think it was just over 1 hour long. I do get older Wan show from time to time though. Thanks for all the great work you guys.
Not really, since they'd be less skeptical of the answers given, or would have less general knowledge to know when the Rabbit is getting something wrong.

You guys don't understand how much I really appreciate and love these extra long episodes keep these up! I'm not too sure what the watch time is on the longer ones but I really love them!
I’m just listening to / watching this on May 12th, so the Apple iPad event is already behind me (watched it live), as I have not been an ardent fan of this podcast, but better late than never 😊. (UA-cam started playing it as I fell back to sleep this morning 😂.) Anyhow, it’s a long winded way to say that I enjoyed it! lol Thanks guys
Came from Apple Podcasts just to let you guys know that I get extremely excited to see these extra long episodes! And even more excited to see bonus episodes! Love it.
Firstly, I want to say that I really love this podcast! It is definitely the first place to go go when I want to see a review of a product! I'm now referring to the talk regarding the Rabbit R1: I was actually eagerly waiting for this video to come out, and was really curious what you are gonna say about it. I like the way David called it a "beta device", because it is, technically a device with not every feature they promised, at least yet. Though the thing that "I" think you got a little wrong, if I may say, is that you thought of it like similar to a smartphone, which I think is not the case. As I understood from Jessie, is that the R1 is meant to be controlled with voice, and the screen is a plus. The screen is meant to be for seeing if you got something right, use the keyboard if you don't want to use your voice, confirm an action after you said it by voice, etc. I think that if you are gonna treat it like a smartphone and use the screen the whole time, you are right that it is very limited. A big difference that "I" think is worth mentioning, which David did touch on, is the difference between the CEO's of Rabbit and Humane, the CEO of Humane sold you that he is bringing a revolution to the AI industry, and didn't give you much. And almost everything it did give you, is bad. But, on the other hand, Jessie, looked to me very humble, and he is eager to invest all his effort into the R1 to make it good. I can't agree more with Marques, that "you should buy a product for what it is now", but Jessie seemed to me that he's putting in much more effort in his product than Humane. Jessie also started the keynote saying that someone (I think it was said on this podcast) said after the launch of the R1, that if it would have even half the things they said on the launch date, he'd be happy. And I think that they delivered half or more than they said at the launch. In addition, from the reviews I saw, I saw that whatever the Humane AI pin can do that the R1 can, the H1 is doing it much better. I mean, it's faster, gives better results, the Rabbit Vision is much better (I mean when you point your camera to something, and asks what it is, Rabbit gives you better, faster, more accurate responses. Not to mention that the Humane AI Pin, you can point to anything, and it has a wide camera too, so when you ask it what is in front of you, you can't know what it sees.), the voice is less annoying, and plus, it has a screen. Lastly, I really liked the way you concluded the review saying that if one wants a cool, AI, beta toy to play around with, can kinda like it. And again, it does not cost $700 plus a subscription fee. I really can't wait for a full review from Marques!! :D ❤❤❤
MKBHD and the team you should definitely get the new electric G-Wagon 580 it's the perfect car for all that you need 😊❤❤❤😂 Keep up with great work and greetings from sLOVEnia 😊😂

And gave an answer suggesting SPECIFICALLY How WAVEFORM should start THEIR podcast THAT week. 3:10 I got stuck in a loop between this episode and another one for the first like 7 and then it sent me to a couple other WVFRM episodes. You’re welcome for feeding your engagement.
10 play next clicks leads me back through more WVFRM podcasts (mostly, one or two LTTs vids in there) and ending on the episode with Hasan Minhaj. That said, great episode once again, folks! Always feels like I'm sitting around, chatting with a group of friends. :D
My major question with the Rabbit R1 has always been about longevity. Since it's cloud-based how long will the device be operable? What happens in a year if the company is acquired or releases an R2 and they decide they no longer want to provide service to the R1? There's also a concern about the company's ongoing profitability. Namely, since the device doesn't have a subscription then how they do continue to fund the cloud portion? Are they going to sell the Large Action Model as a service to other companies, built on the data we provide by training it? Are they just another Google where they're going to sell our user-data? But otherwise the device does seem neat. I really kind of like the idea of a handheld device that can hold a conversation. My nephew has become enamored with using ChatGPT's conversation feature (which is awesome because if you say "you're talking to a child" it'll tailor its responses accordingly) and every time he sees me he asks to talk to the AI. (Though I admit this poses other issues like whether he should be talking to an AI at all, or the fact his last conversation he was continually telling the AI that he hates it because he wanted to see what it would do.)
I live in Pheonix we saw a herd of Waymo on the high way a few months back being led by a dude in a car up front. It was very interesting and seemed like highway training.
I just hit next 10 times. First was another waveform podcast, then 9 digital foundry videos in a row, each between 1 and 3 hours long. I've seen other people mention getting piles of DF videos in a row recently too, and they're putting out a lot of long form videos. So it does look like it prioritises long videos. It is 1am here right now too...
When I fall asleep and wake up I’m always listening to some 2-4 four like jazz or some odd stoner dubstepwave house type video. I also in my sleep tracking am only getting one cycle of deep sleep pretty sure the two are connected
Incredible! I press next on the vid and it autoplayed 1hr 3hr 2hr videos and these are channels I put on when going to sleep. Mr. Sunday movies and Andrew Huber man. Fun experiment
@9:25 "Hitting the brake" should be the proper thing to do, however many cases of unexpected acceleration are people hitting the gas thinking it is the brake, so saying hit the brake isn't exactly always the right advice. I think disengaging to neutral could be more universal advice, or at least letting off both pedals and confirming what you're hitting. That's very hard in the moment but just felt worth noting that "hitting the brake" isn't what it seems in the moment at times.
I think one major flaw is the security concern regarding “training” your Rabbit r1 to log into your other web apps. I’m assuming there's a VM that follows the recordings, which would require them to store your credentials in plaintext on their servers. This gives me the same vibes as the Nothing phone, where they were announcing they were bringing iMessage to Android, which would require them to basically have a VM access the user’s entire iCloud account. There is a reason why APIs exist, and trying to go around that usually opens a pandora of issues. Edit: Even if they don’t store credentials in plain text I find it a hard pill to swallow that they basically have full control of my accounts. It will be different if we’re using OAuth, where I can clearly scope the permissions.
@@chockablock34857 Not every authentication uses tokens some are session based. If the site is using tokens, how would they know where the token is located? Not every site stores token the same way. What happens when the token expires? Does the Rabbit r1 grabs the refresh token?
@@chockablock34857What happens when the token expires? How does it know where is the access token located? Not all sites have the same authentication implementation. I thought I already replied to your comment, I don’t know why my post reply either got deleted or didn’t send. 🤔
"The Rivian R2: Are we preordering?" All ten videos were waveform episodes, totally compatible with the 6-7 episodes i "watched" in the last 10 days while driving
To be fair, it would be amazing to have a built in Graphing Calculator... (I do not use any apple products.) EDIT: i posted this before they said that exact thing lol
The hand gesture thing is crazy lol. Could you imagine driving your Tesla and seeing a hitch hiker waving you down and your car just starts pulling over lol
32:05 The algorhythm apparently thought, that I have to be in the mood for the Waveform Podcast, so it took me through 10 episodes of you guys I haven't watched (bc those came out, before I subscribed and since this is always mostly based on news, I don't want to listen to outdated episodes) Eventually after 10 times skipping I landed on "Mac Pro Story Time, r/Place Recap, and an Interview with Jad Abumrad"
Huge security risk with the Rabbit R1: The VMs store user login/passwords and not an API/OpenID authorisation. From your description it seems you connect to the VM directly to type in the password. What if someone manages to connect to other people’s VMs ? So they can get your data/passwords/credit cards, can watch what you’re doing since the app is open when you’re sending audio commands..
I'm surprised they haven’t mentioned it, and I’ve said it before: the Rabbit and Humane pin would be great tech for blind people. Especially the Humane PIN that can analyze the surrounding area.
Started at this podcast's video (in a new tab), hit next 10 times, ended on "IDLES: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert" video. I LIKE THAT! Full pattern was something like this: * Waveform Podcast * Vergecast * 4x Primeagen videos * 3x Scary Pockets videos * IDLES tiny desk concert The jump from tech videos to music videos is almost certainly the algorithm knowing what I watch to kill time or when I run out of queued videos. EDIT: I have a slight inclination towards take-out rotisserie chickens in a hard shell plastic container rather than a heat-safe plastic bag. Both are fine though.
18:35 guys, I do not usually comment but the ride hailing app is NOT “just a mock up”. It has been used small scale during test drives at special events. It is probably being used by Tesla employees for ride share to work rn. You’ll see.
Hitting next 10 times to me to a Bill Burr podcast. The first 6 skips took me to different episodes of this podcast then it tool me to Rogan and lastly Bill Burr. Cool to see it just kept giving me podcast to watch
The music guy learnt faster than a large action model at 1:04:00, took minutes to figure this strategy of having some reply to indicate that you heard which also allows for some burn time.
32:14 - 10th next: Rivian R2: are we pre-ordering. Went through some Linus Tech, Technology connections, vergecast then last two were past WVFRM episodes. Thanks, didn't need that demonstration of how solid my echo chamber is, but now I know. Great. Also explains why no one else knows anything that is happening in the world of tech
Please comment on whether the killer app to the R1 is that a VAR can preset up the R1 by training it for specific apps in a specific vertical. Like a personal R1 and a specific sub vertical business R1.1 and R1.2 etc. Then resets these customized Rabbits.
Limitless pendant (ex rewindai) is 4 months away. hope you got your preorder. that could be interesting cause they had working software before (it seems, according to reddit). now they're combing it with speakers.
you guys should have been in deep conversation and then Andrew should have said now lets get out of this rabbit hole. Then Marques could have said, speaking of rabbit holes, here is the rabbit R1 loll. Great podcast as usual guys!
6:39 The main difference between Wolfram Alpha and current LLMs is that WA doesn't hallucinate. If it parsed your query wrong, you can tell because it gives you the steps it took to work it out.
10 next plays challenge (w/ YT Premium): I think David is right on this one!! It's 10PM, the algorithm probably thinks I'm about to sleep. I ONLY get long podcasts!! That's so freaky. - Andrew Huberman podcast - Lex Friedman podcast - Tim Ferriss podcast
So I made the autocomplete challenge (31:55) twice. 1. After picking a Dave2D video I hit Shift+N 10 times and by number 6 it was coming back and forth between "Our Favorite Productivity Apps" and "Is Apple Breaking the Law?" 2. I went to the last second of each video I was getting by Autoplay and ended at "Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Review: Why Buy Anything Else?" by Marques Brownlee. This time I didn't come back and forth between already suggested episodes.
57:00 After seeing the launch keynote and giving it some thought I think it was actually smart that this is a separate device-even knowing that people will say “why isn’t this just an app?” By making it a device they get to control the experience from top to bottom and they are not beholden to Apple or Google to approve updates. It allows them to move as fast as they can. In the keynote, it’s clear that they have much bigger plans than the things that you can do in the current app ecosystem. They want to be an OS but competing as a phone OS is basically guaranteed failure at this point. By making a separate device they don’t have to try and be a phone. They can be only what they want to be. They also started simple and didn’t try to do something as grandiose Humane which does a much better job setting expectations. $200 is in the ballpark where early adopters will try it out and this will allow Rabbit to get valuable feedback as they move into a mode mainstream product. The whole thing could still fail but I give Rabbit much better odds than Humane.
After hitting it ten times I got to a new video from one of my favourite channels (Korean Englishman!) that I’ve been saving for after watching this episode!
I did exactly what Marques told me to do, and I hit *Next* 10 times on the Autoplay queue, and I kid you not, ever single one of the 10 videos I was thrown into was a full 1-2hr long episode of the Trash Taste Podcast. Every single video.
1:49:41 Definitely plastic container because it's easier to deal with the carcass. (Listened to the podcast while running, but jumped into the comments section to answer 😂)
31:56 Results of the challenge- All 10 were wvfrm videos(mostly recent ones,) half of them I remembered watching. Had only 5 intro ads. Is that normal? Cheers
finally a big channel mentions that the rabbit could basically be a huge botnet and most companies they're trying to integrate have it in their t&c that it's not allowed to bot and your account can get banned.
@Ellis, I really want to be sold on why the bag is better than the container. I don't buy rotisserie chickens often (or at all?), but if I did, why wouldn't I want a container to put it in instead having a bag that doesn't lay flat in the fridge?
after 10 times clicking next it took me to different episodes of the podcast that i haven't watched and landed on The AI Search Wars Have Begun and OnePlus 11 Recap!
for the ipad calculator, i already use an app where I can write equations with the pencil and it solves them. If apple used that as a base and built a kinda wolfram alpha like integration to further explain the equations (and handle more complex ones) I'd say thats a solid ipad calculator implementation. Being able to draw a graph with the pencil and it builds an equation for it would be sick as well too.

Also it’s 830. Which is when I usually go to sleep but I don’t work tomorrow
I was itching for the episode to drop
If you know anything about RPA, it's not true that it would have to be in plain text
@@chockablock34857 Not every authentication uses tokens some are session based.
If the site is using tokens, how would they know where the token is located? Not every site stores token the same way.
What happens when the token expires? Does the Rabbit r1 grabs the refresh token?
@@jamarforsythe7262What’s RPA?
@@chockablock34857What happens when the token expires?
How does it know where is the access token located? Not all sites have the same authentication implementation.
I thought I already replied to your comment, I don’t know why my post reply either got deleted or didn’t send. 🤔
@@chockablock34857 Depending on how they are locked down, tokens can be grabbed.
"The Rivian R2: Are we preordering?"
All ten videos were waveform episodes, totally compatible with the 6-7 episodes i "watched" in the last 10 days while driving
As someone who also falls asleep to YT, I have auto-play disabled so that my laptop will go to sleep when, whatever video I fell asleep to, ends.
To be fair, it would be amazing to have a built in Graphing Calculator... (I do not use any apple products.)
EDIT: i posted this before they said that exact thing lol
Best community ever ❤
The hand gesture thing is crazy lol. Could you imagine driving your Tesla and seeing a hitch hiker waving you down and your car just starts pulling over lol
Better late than never *LETSSS GOOOOO!!!* 🎉
32:05 The algorhythm apparently thought, that I have to be in the mood for the Waveform Podcast, so it took me through 10 episodes of you guys I haven't watched (bc those came out, before I subscribed and since this is always mostly based on news, I don't want to listen to outdated episodes) Eventually after 10 times skipping I landed on "Mac Pro Story Time, r/Place Recap, and an Interview with Jad Abumrad"
I got to Waveform Trivia Finale - The Closest One Yet!
Huge security risk with the Rabbit R1:
The VMs store user login/passwords and not an API/OpenID authorisation.
From your description it seems you connect to the VM directly to type in the password. What if someone manages to connect to other people’s VMs ? So they can get your data/passwords/credit cards, can watch what you’re doing since the app is open when you’re sending audio commands..
I was looking for a comment like this. Work in Web security and this gives me the heebie jeebies.
When I fall asleep I always wake up to some black and white battleship documentary. I've never been recommended a battleship documentary.
perfect for kids
I'm surprised they haven’t mentioned it, and I’ve said it before: the Rabbit and Humane pin would be great tech for blind people. Especially the Humane PIN that can analyze the surrounding area.
Started at this podcast's video (in a new tab), hit next 10 times, ended on "IDLES: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert" video. I LIKE THAT!
Full pattern was something like this:
* Waveform Podcast
* Vergecast
* 4x Primeagen videos
* 3x Scary Pockets videos
* IDLES tiny desk concert
The jump from tech videos to music videos is almost certainly the algorithm knowing what I watch to kill time or when I run out of queued videos.
I can confirm The WAN Show conspiracy is real, The next 6 autoplay videos were WAN show, and after that, 4 videos of Linus building a pc for 3 hours
Bag. I watch every single second every week.
I definetly love this podcast!
It has me on the waveform podcast back to back.😂😂😂
lol marques was being petty....Great show guys! always a good podcast.
Please comment on whether the killer app to the R1 is that a VAR can preset up the R1 by training it for specific apps in a specific vertical. Like a personal R1 and a specific sub vertical business R1.1 and R1.2 etc. Then resets these customized Rabbits.
hey Marques. could you do gadget reviews. i really miss watching your gadget reviews and there’s so many new gadget this year. Let’s Go!!🤩🤙
"MIDYUAN EXPLAINED" I cannot lmao
1:29:00 You keep hearing a clicking sound, as if there was something wrong with a cable.
Limitless pendant (ex rewindai) is 4 months away. hope you got your preorder. that could be interesting cause they had working software before (it seems, according to reddit). now they're combing it with speakers.
Hitting the next button 10 times: all the next videos were other episodes of this podcast, the 10th one was right to repair deep dive
you guys should have been in deep conversation and then Andrew should have said now lets get out of this rabbit hole. Then Marques could have said, speaking of rabbit holes, here is the rabbit R1 loll. Great podcast as usual guys!
I landed on "We Took Over the Podcast!" video of the WVFRM podcast channel. I left a comment there also.
I fall asleep to Let's Read scary stories because Joel's voice is just so soothing.
The first thing that popped in my head when I watched the review was that it reminded me of a Pokedex. Glad to here that you guys got the same vibe
Hello can you ask why the camera feature don’t have a flip while recording function ⁉️⁉️
6:39 The main difference between Wolfram Alpha and current LLMs is that WA doesn't hallucinate. If it parsed your query wrong, you can tell because it gives you the steps it took to work it out.
More David please! Love his takes.
I love when you guys go off the rails. It's the highlight of my week.
I haven’t seen the bag that Costco uses, so I guess I’m defaulting to preferring the tray. But either way, rotisserie chickens are 🔥
10 next plays challenge (w/ YT Premium):
I think David is right on this one!!
It's 10PM, the algorithm probably thinks I'm about to sleep.
I ONLY get long podcasts!! That's so freaky.
- Andrew Huberman podcast
- Lex Friedman podcast
- Tim Ferriss podcast
Great episode happy holidays 🎉 new sub
So I made the autocomplete challenge (31:55) twice.
1. After picking a Dave2D video I hit Shift+N 10 times and by number 6 it was coming back and forth between "Our Favorite Productivity Apps" and "Is Apple Breaking the Law?"
2. I went to the last second of each video I was getting by Autoplay and ended at "Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Review: Why Buy Anything Else?" by Marques Brownlee. This time I didn't come back and forth between already suggested episodes.
57:00 After seeing the launch keynote and giving it some thought I think it was actually smart that this is a separate device-even knowing that people will say “why isn’t this just an app?”
By making it a device they get to control the experience from top to bottom and they are not beholden to Apple or Google to approve updates.
OMG I was convinced that the WAN show thing was happening only to me. Glad to hear that it also happens to you guys. It’s ALWAYS the WAN Show!
1:41:12 it only connects to wifi when you turn the screen on so you have to wait for it to reconnect every time. Amazing
31:56 Results of the challenge-
All 10 were wvfrm videos(mostly recent ones,) half of them I remembered watching. Had only 5 intro ads.
Is that normal?
Cheers
WOAH SO ITS NOT ME WHO WAKES UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT TO THE WAN SHOW. THANK GOD!!
finally a big channel mentions that the rabbit could basically be a huge botnet and most companies they're trying to integrate have it in their t&c that it's not allowed to bot and your account can get banned.
STG this video is starting to be the video that I wake up to now since I watched it originally 😭😭😭
@Ellis, I really want to be sold on why the bag is better than the container. I don't buy rotisserie chickens often (or at all?), but if I did, why wouldn't I want a container to put it in instead having a bag that doesn't lay flat in the fridge?
after 10 times clicking next it took me to different episodes of the podcast that i haven't watched and landed on
The AI Search Wars Have Begun and OnePlus 11 Recap!
for the ipad calculator, i already use an app where I can write equations with the pencil and it solves them. If apple used that as a base and built a kinda wolfram alpha like integration to further explain the equations (and handle more complex ones) I'd say thats a solid ipad calculator implementation. Being able to draw a graph with the pencil and it builds an equation for it would be sick as well too.
