agreed. The whole of infinity war and start of endgame has thor being cocky as hell. For me, black widow’s death was perfect because there were moments when they started bringing it up, but they had too much too do. They made sure that they didn’t focus on black widows death until after the fight, to show that they were trying to make sure her death wasn’t in vain. Idk it’s just my personal opinion because for me it seems more grounded in universe.
Nasir Ali yeah, I loved her character arc. She goes from an unfeeling spy to finally finding some form of family, and in the end, sacrificing herself for them.
@ ikr? I really liked the part where Clint and Wanda bonded over having both lost loved ones, but that was about it for Natasha. I never really liked her as much as Tony, but I would have liked to see a bit more of a memorial for her.
I thought Tony was pretty clear about bringing people back but not undoing the 5 yrs that had passed (the time in which his daughter was born). But, yeah, time travel. :)
Yeah, that’s probably one of the only things I fully disagree with Marcus on, here. The movie didn’t feel like three hours, at all. Everyone I’ve spoken to about it has said “it didn’t feel like three hours” somewhere within the first few minutes of conversation. My parents, one of whom who has leg issues that can become more pronounced from sitting in a chair for too long, saw the movie and commented that it didn’t feel like three hours. It seems to be one of the near universal comments I’ve heard been made about this film.
Your number 1 criticism might be be my favorite thing about the movie. Thor's arc is so damn good and Captain Midnight's video on it explains it perfectly if you are interested.
Interestingly on my first watch I agreed with everything Cosmonaut said about Thor. Second watch I agreed with everything Captain Midnight said. It's funny what a second viewing can do lol. I still think that the conclusion to Thor's arc could have been a bit better though, which is something Captain Midnight mentioned in his video.
@@tripled2505 Yes, I know, but the way character arcs go there should be some sort of a conclusion at the end, even if it is not the final conclusion of his arc. I think there was a conclusion to Thor's arc in endgame but it could've been done better. This was a concern that captain midnight raised in his video. Nevertheless, though I think the ending to Thor's arc could've used some changes, I am satisfied.
His criticism was about her death scene itself, that the scene didn't sell her death as a permanent thing. Having a _second_ scene with the sole purpose of saying "Yes she is gone forever, in case you didn't get that" kind of supports his view.
@@Stryke10 People also throught Gamora would be revived somehow, and not just a past version of herself. Thor represents the audience in that scene. Not upset because he believes she can still be saved. Even when they others explained that he was wrong, I still wasn't believing it.
There is a point, where Bruce/Hulk says he tried to save her, too, but he couldn't.... but that's when Thanos comes in and literally brings the house down. It's almost easily missed.
Thor was so good in this movie, this is the most human of this character, it showed that he is relatable. Like the last line that he said was so important when he was leaving Asgard.
Everyone is saying that “after endgame, I’m done with the MCU” and for a lot of people I’m pretty sure that’s the case, but not you. You’re obviously a comic fan, and considering what’s gonna happen, people like you and me are gonna hit up the theaters. FF4, X-Men, Blade, these are all introducing a brand new side of the Marvel universe. So yeah, don’t think you’re done just yet.
Captain America lifting the hammer was this generations “No, I am your father” Probably one of the only moments in the past decade that made people actually gasp or cheer in theatres
Gotta say I really appreciate you being the perfect poster child for "you can have criticisms of things and still enjoy them". It's been hard for me to unlearn being ruthless about what I allow myself to like but watching your videos really helps
Zenron it’s like he says it to try and sound cool “I aCtUaLlY DiDnT LiKe It” Yeah whatever you stupid hipster You speak entirely in vocal fry shut the fuck up
I would really like to see one last video from you on the MCU, like a finale that closes up your thoughts on the jorney that took 11 years and maybe some thoughts about the future of the MCU.
I thought you would mention Hawkeye and how important he is in the story this time, and how he's an actual likeable character that does something. Plus he was really cool
I find it strange that so many people seem to think Black Widows sacrifice didn't feel final. Sure did to me. I thought the rules were pretty straight forward, as laid out by Stark: Bring everyone from the snap back, don't change anything else. Also, you can't pick the time travel apart. It's rock solid. It's just about the most rock solid time travel in any movie except Primer and maybe 12 Monkeys.
The only kind of time travel stories that don't fall completely apart if you think about them for a second are the ones set in a deterministic universe where it is absolutely impossible to change time even a little bit, and whatever you do in the past was always a part of the original and only timeline. They also tend to be a bit depressing.
shraka to me, I was just desensitized to it. It was too much like Gamora’s death (yes, I understand why), but I was one of the people who bought Infinity War and watched it over and over again. We see that they brought Gamora back, so to say they can’t do that with Black Widow is a bit naive.
I think one of the reasons the characters didn’t make a massive deal over natashas sacrifice is because they thought they could bring her back as banner tried he said after but it didn’t work
I think Thor's change was understandable. Because he has lost everything he got family, his home and friends . In an infinity he was holding on a revenge, but when he get his revenge he doesn't feel good like a winner. I don't know he was just broken(
Murtagh Exactly. In fact, it's startlingly similar to DBZ. The Cell arc had alternate timelines. And of course they were collecting muguffins to wish back their friends
One of my favourite character moments was seeing how many people turned up to Tony's funeral. The fact Hank Pym turned up to respect a Stark is quite something.
Literally the only problems for me were the Audi and Thortnite product placement and that one forced ass girl power moment - but oh my god they made Iron Man’s Age of Ultron vision come true and really wrapped up the whole MCU so far it was incredible and all the character moments were incredible - felt amazing seeing Frigga and The Ancient One again and THE ENTIRE LAST BATTLE SEQUENCE
@Phantom Stryker Thinking about Capt. Marvel after that vid and honestly: you could rewrite a lot of stuff to have her not there and it not affecting the story.
@@shinigamiryan5837 You still need someone to blow up the ship, though I'd argue that the Guardians of the Galaxy could do that since they had so little to do in this film.
I really liked the shot of cap standing alone, with a broken shield, against thanos and his entire army, but still determined to fight to the last breath
The thing I love about it is that's it's been out for so long so " the mcu" that it's basically able to feel like a real comic book movie it's able yo do things I'd never expect and it was fucking amazing
The MCU has been trying its best to slowly incorporate all the weird stuff for the past 11 years. If Guardians hadn’t been good none of this weird stuff would have worked. They nailed it all.
What i enjoyed most about endgame, was how formidable thanos was as a villain. He was not just strong, or just a good fighter, he was clever and strategic. He was outmatched with capt. marvel, but figured out how to overcome her in a way that seemed spontaneous and it really showed his cleverness. This was done in a way that wasn't small, but still subtle. And this was just one of many little but significant details throughout that fight. It was just very excellently done, and so satisfying to see done well.
Seeing this in theater might be the greatest thing I’ve ever done. I went to see it with a friend of mine and I can’t even do scribe the experience. It was great, and I feel bad for everyone that didn’t see this movie in theaters
I remember when I saw Thor playing Fortnite after a 5-year time skip, I thought 'wow, this reference will be outdated by the time 2024 actually comes around' How very wrong I was.

The only thing I was thinking was holy crap. Spiderman killed a lot of things. Probably will have ptsd or something. Plus it's his first major big battle. Going from small time villians to this must be tough on him. Later on i learned he was completely fine and it didn't matter

Edward Millard I could have sat there for another 2 hours lol
Yeah, that’s probably one of the only things I fully disagree with Marcus on, here. The movie didn’t feel like three hours, at all. Everyone I’ve spoken to about it has said “it didn’t feel like three hours” somewhere within the first few minutes of conversation. My parents, one of whom who has leg issues that can become more pronounced from sitting in a chair for too long, saw the movie and commented that it didn’t feel like three hours. It seems to be one of the near universal comments I’ve heard been made about this film.
It felt like a long time for me, mostly because it was such an emotional roller coaster. Feeling despair, hope, despair again made it feel super long.
I felt like it was even shorter than IW :D

Thor's arc is so damn good and Captain Midnight's video on it explains it perfectly if you are interested.
Sicky sicky sicky on my dicky uhhhhh
Interestingly on my first watch I agreed with everything Cosmonaut said about Thor. Second watch I agreed with everything Captain Midnight said. It's funny what a second viewing can do lol. I still think that the conclusion to Thor's arc could have been a bit better though, which is something Captain Midnight mentioned in his video.
Akul Bector it was done well, but could’ve been better. In the end, I’m satisfied and happy.
@@4775HpPjcooldude his arc isnt done though
@@tripled2505 Yes, I know, but the way character arcs go there should be some sort of a conclusion at the end, even if it is not the final conclusion of his arc. I think there was a conclusion to Thor's arc in endgame but it could've been done better. This was a concern that captain midnight raised in his video. Nevertheless, though I think the ending to Thor's arc could've used some changes, I am satisfied.
This movie may have problems, but I will always love for the last hour being my favorite part of the entire MCU. Greatest send off
The pacing, was the only problem for me ,what's the others
Ummmmm.... there is an entire scene dedicated to Black Widow's death though when the characters return from time heisting
His criticism was about her death scene itself, that the scene didn't sell her death as a permanent thing. Having a _second_ scene with the sole purpose of saying "Yes she is gone forever, in case you didn't get that" kind of supports his view.
I think people that haven’t watched infinity war or didn’t understand what was going on thought that she would return

I watched endgame on opening night. It was unreal
Time travel is cheap lazy writing
The only kind of time travel stories that don't fall completely apart if you think about them for a second are the ones set in a deterministic universe where it is absolutely impossible to change time even a little bit, and whatever you do in the past was always a part of the original and only timeline. They also tend to be a bit depressing.
Or the ones where it's not actually time travel, like this one.
Idk, they could undo that sacrifice which will create a different timeline. Then, they could get her from the alternative timeline.
shraka to me, I was just desensitized to it. It was too much like Gamora’s death (yes, I understand why), but I was one of the people who bought Infinity War and watched it over and over again. We see that they brought Gamora back, so to say they can’t do that with Black Widow is a bit naive.
