I just bought the same shop vac, can you please tell me which parts to buy and that latch that locks it in place? Also what screws did you use? Thank you
I know you've done videos on all of these products before, but it's nice to have one location that summarizes the products, and has the links you included to make it easy to find these guys for ordering products. Great descriptions Jake, keep up the good work.
@@btbinnovationsllc6815 Ah Thanks, when I watched the video earlier it didn't show any video description, now it is showing the video description with the links. Thanks!
The funny thing is that 60 years ago most guys would build an entire house with little more than a handsaw, hammer, level, ruler/tape measure, a yankee screwdriver, Crescent wrench and a nailset. I've been using a lot of hand tools lately and I've found that they're actually faster and easier for most tasks rather than dragging all of the power tools out. The exception being drilling and driving more than a few screws. It's easy to see that a few hand tools and a cordless drill/driver set up will handle almost everything and fit into a single, smaller toolbox. I have such a box under the backseat of my truck and it's amazing what I can do with just the tools within.
@J Whitley Compare the time and effort it takes most contractors to set up, charge batteries, trips back to the truck/trailer, chasing down a tool on the job site, knocking everything back down and don't forget the weight of it all. I'm not sure how much planing you're doing but for a few edges a well tuned hand plane does the job in less time than having to go grab and set up even a cordless one and then there's the expense for a tool that may be used very little. I don't know about you but the only planing I've ever had to do is to clean up a few cut edges, ease a corner or two and plane down a door. All of which is very easy to do with a hand plane and one could argue that it does a better, more precise job. Interesting that you mention the Sawzall as I just had to cut roughly 30 long 2"x6" in half to get them out and down to the dump. I stacked them and grabbed my Sawzall thinking it would make quick work of the job with the new blade I installed and found that it wasn't a good choice as the blade was binding and it was much more effort than the small toolbox handsaw I had been using to cut them. I couldn't use a circular saw without removing a ton of nails. So it was back to the handsaw which sawed through them in no time, leaving me wishing I hadn't wasted the time and effort of retrieving, setting up and putting away the Sawzall. My point is that builders used to be able to do the same job with much less equipment that fit into a small tool box/tote that held everything they needed compared to the huge array of modular storage rigs, trucks and trailers of today and were independent of having power on the job site as well...something that anyone that's worked a summer or two in the North woods in the 1980's would appreciate. I think that most today would be surprised at how well and easily hand tools work to do many of the jobs they tackle on a daily basis. As I originally said, if you've got to drill/drive a lot of screws I'm grabbing a power tool the same as if I have to make multiple cuts on nail free lumber, etc., but I just marvel at the difference in the number of power tools/tools "needed" in a relatively short span of time.
Can't argue your point however the cordless tools available today make life a lot easier. There are a lot of tools that seem silly to many but are vital to others. When you need it, you need it, especially once you know it's out there. That being said tool whores do walk among us.
I agree you're the main reason I went with packout to organize my bits and other things. I saw you on vcg's video and loved the set up. From there I got an organizer, small tool box with drill/impact in it, and a large toolbox for the circular saw and other tools. The bit bins and your videos is what made me bite the bullet on buying a 3d printer. Hats off to you and Ben!
At first I was like "this is gonna be like every other milwaukee fan video". Nope its more of a look at all this innovative people and the products they make to make the packout fit for everyone. TAKE MY MONEY. Ordering some of those plates now.

If you're hanging crates on the wall, I found 2 cleats isn't enough to support any real weight. I broke 2 cleats. I recommend adding the center block style cleat for sidewall mounting
I know this is an older video but I'm looking into doing my own 3d printing without mortgaging the house lol. Can you tell me where a good place to start is...?

I removed the center handle & pockets from a 15" tote & mounted my Oxy/Acetylene torches inside the tote & bolted the plastic torch case to the bag. Now, my torch set is a pack out tote with everything I need to weld refrigerant lines on board.
I work in IT and carry all kinds of computers, tools and networking stuff.. honestly, the cobra and the Kaizen foam really helped me protect and carry all that equipment with me.
As a guy just getting started in the acquisition of tools for some DIY, this is an excellent video on how to get rolling! Thanks for the detailed input. Definitely will be following your work and sharing your videos with contractors I know.
Any chance you would make vacuum kits for other brands of vacuums and tool boxes? I have the Ryobi project vac and the Tstak system. I would love to have a way to lock my vac into my tool boxes.
I’ve been trying to think of a way to cut out a little door for the bottom pack out wheeler. Especially with the new drawers coming out soon, I want to be able access all of my tools without having to unstack the boxes. It would be awesome for you to make something up or have any idea.
I’ve been hesitant about buying the packout cases. Right now I just use plastic totes to move tools around. After seeing the customization I might buy in to this system. Great video!
I'm interested in getting the 3 drawer. I have a question. If I put any color wire nuts in the divided bin. Will they jump the divider if you shake the whole drawer system? Thanks
Just started a new job was looking for a idea to store and move tools and supplies from apartment to apartment. This looks like what I need. Thanks for a great video.
That Kaizen foam may well have persuaded me to buy some of this Packout. I can now box up my tools in an organised fashion, instead of just throwing them into a big box of mess.
12:45 funny thing is the Dewalt bit cases fit perfectly into the shelf tray in the smaller packout. I just threw all the dewalt bits into my backup case and put all my shockwave bits into it to carry. Fits two of the dewalt cases perfectly, like they designed the shelf tray specifically for them.
Already got the Kaizan foam and was looking at the brackets. I am going to give some thought to the 3D printed options available. Thanks for the links and ideas.
Hey can I just say, you are my new favorite facetube person! Your brain moves as fast as mine. I hope I can make youtube videos that are as informative as I just watched with no BS. Just bought my first (2) stacks of Packout and am super stoked! I was using bags / tool bags or whatever people call them to transport mixed / moshed, whatever I could jam into them.... (super unorganized) to the job site. I love organization & customization! JACKPOT! You rock! Keep doing what you are doing. I haven't even finished the video (wanted to comment) & will go buy (hopefully you have a website!) some of your customized set-ups for the system.
You should come out with a design with the feet to mount the chargers to a lid or inside the boxes so you can set your charger on top, lock it down and not worry about it falling off when bumped and just a more stable mount when charger the bigger High Demand series batteries! Great video and can’t wait to get some mounts for my crates to help organize both my shop and my boxes!
Hi can you answer me a additional question because you have been so helpful ;) I ordered packout size 2, and I want to buy also lower organiser case, I would like to know if it is possible to lift the bigger handle of the packout size 2 when slim organizer is mounted on the top of it.

The template would be thin and you would put it on the Kaizan Foam and trace around the template. It would be a lot easier than tracing around a bulky tool.
this defiantly could be done, one issue I see Is it would take time, lots of time. Is this something you would think people would be willing to pay for?
JakeOfALL I know I would be willing to pay for a set of templates. It doesn’t have to be every tool, but all the popular ones would be a great start. Couple of ideas - if you know anyone at Milwaukee Tool, maybe they would share a CAD drawing of the various tools. A full size drawing would go a long way. You could use the drawing to generate a cut line from the outline. Maybe add 1/8” to make it easier to insert/remove the tool. Then cut the templates on a laser out of acrylic. You could also label each template with the Milwaukee model number and what it is. If you can’t get a CAD file, I think you can build some type of simple light table. Put the tool on the table and then take a picture of it. Adjust the exposure/contrast of the picture until it’s just a black and white picture of the tool. Then you could use that picture to generate a cut line as before. It would take a few tries to get the scaling correct and the camera would have to be nice and perpendicular to the light table.
What do u guys think about making a door in the bottom box to be able to slide out contents of it sideways instead of removing two above boxes? Rigidity should not be heavily reduced

Yes. I'm gonna get that Packout bracket for the front of rolling case and also wanted to get the Cord Cobra but they bot mount in the same place. Is there a Cord Cobra that mounts on the rear?

between lubing the top and keeping it protected, AND THE SHIRT! new sub, and super awesome ideas! the socket set idea is awesome. Just saved me space in my truck and in my wallet!
Wow seeing this for a wall mount setup. cut out a power stip to link power to packout setup for m18/m12 batteries and chargers. I rather it on the wall than in my box. The organization ability of these are sweet.
Thanks for all the information. I just started my own packout set up and really like it so far. Checking out what all is available. I really like those foam inserts. I'll check the site out. One question, the lid you have for the crates, does Milwaukee make those as well or are they 3D printed? Or are they 3rd party?
I want something about the size of the cooler that will quick charge 6 M18 batteries. Or a pancake compressor that fits in a space the size of the 3 drawer tool box. Or a coffee maker.
Bro 1st time viewing your channel and I'll be back again and again and again... Have a lot of Milwaukee tools but haven't been able to get myself to spend that kind of $$$ for the packout system.. but love your ideas... thanks
Are you aware of any feet/locking system that can be attached to the underside of a tool bag that will then lock into the packout system? Basically, I’m a DIYer/handy husband who’s just starting the packout journey. I’m a tool bag guy who doesn’t need dedicated storage for every specific item…yet, and I’m not a big fan of Milwaukee’s tool bags so I’ll probably be buying a different brand bag but there are certain things that I would like to keep separate/organized like my socket set and retain the ability to attach said socket set to the bottom of my bag. Any advice would be great appreciated. Thank you for your videos!
I need to get a bunch of brackets made for the new shop! Just getting started in packout and having solidworks and a 3-D printer at my disposal should help lol
Let me be very clear in my next statement concerning this video and the pack out system. I do not do anything that remotely requires me to use any of this stuff, but this video makes me WANT to do this kind of work just so I can have an excuse to buy stuff like this. I am pretty sure I need medical help, but honestly, buying this stuff is probably cheaper in the long run then going to a doctor.
Great video, love them all products, ideas, and 3D printed, and brackets. Very well organized and everything have its place. I smashed that “liked” button got that 700th
Well.... hum, Maybe ...I can tell you that I don't spend any time searching for tools., and if someone calls me and says where is the SAE allen sockets, then i can tell them the exact drawer .
JakeOfALL Very true; you could probably tell them exactly how many inches from the edge of the drawer the 10mm socket is! All joking aside though, I love your packout system.

Hahah, thanks for coming along with us !
Wow seeing this for a wall mount setup. cut out a power stip to link power to packout setup for m18/m12 batteries and chargers. I rather it on the wall than in my box. The organization ability of these are sweet.
Thanks
Thanks for all the information. I just started my own packout set up and really like it so far. Checking out what all is available. I really like those foam inserts. I'll check the site out.
One question, the lid you have for the crates, does Milwaukee make those as well or are they 3D printed? Or are they 3rd party?
I want something about the size of the cooler that will quick charge 6 M18 batteries. Or a pancake compressor that fits in a space the size of the 3 drawer tool box. Or a coffee maker.
You're obviously a contractor and you probably own stock in Milwaukee😉 but, that said, those are some good ideas.even for us regular folks.
Thanks!
Dude, good content but the ad quantities are a no for me.
A nice addition would be some sort of B-Tank holder that hooks onto that front rail system for plumbers
they say packout owners eventually start to resemble their packouts
Big and Red?
What’s the link to get the bin to mount the bits and the jig saw blades, thank you in advance.

Bro 1st time viewing your channel and I'll be back again and again and again... Have a lot of Milwaukee tools but haven't been able to get myself to spend that kind of $$$ for the packout system.. but love your ideas... thanks
Thanks for stopping by, and thanks
Are you aware of any feet/locking system that can be attached to the underside of a tool bag that will then lock into the packout system? Basically, I’m a DIYer/handy husband who’s just starting the packout journey. I’m a tool bag guy who doesn’t need dedicated storage for every specific item…yet, and I’m not a big fan of Milwaukee’s tool bags so I’ll probably be buying a different brand bag but there are certain things that I would like to keep separate/organized like my socket set and retain the ability to attach said socket set to the bottom of my bag.
Any advice would be great appreciated. Thank you for your videos!
yeah we have a bunch of them at shop.jakeofall.com
Milwaukee should come out with a packout crate with both side can open to access tools, instead of removing what’s on top of the crate.
thats a good idea
You and the other designers make me a pack out fan!
Man. I am just getting into Packout. I’ve got so many ideas now from this video. Thanks for taking the time to make this vid!
No problem
Just found this channel, mind has been blown! 💥💥

yeah No problem !
Great video, but dang that was a lot of ads.
thanks, how many was there?
I need to get a bunch of brackets made for the new shop! Just getting started in packout and having solidworks and a 3-D printer at my disposal should help lol
This video just took my packout to another level. Best 30min I’ve spent on the internet today 💯💯🙌🏽🙌🏽
Welcome to the jungle
Hey just bought a 2021 proomaster city any pointers on how to mount the packout bracket on the wall of bare van.
SO I have seen people use unistrut first and plumb the wall with them first
Let me be very clear in my next statement concerning this video and the pack out system.
AHHHH hahahahahhah
You domt have to be in the trades to use them man , we won't make fun of ya . Got any hobbies ? Use them for that .
Can you add brackets on the bottom of a backpack to make it pack out compatible
I think so
I like to keep the tip lubed too 🙋🏻♂️(21:09)
Hahaha
Where can i get some of that # 2 bunk bins and all that drill bits holder

Wait where can I get that black plastic lid for the pack out bucket?! I’ve never seen that and I definitely need it
"...I must smell good".... uhhh flies aren't usually attracted to "good" smells my dude hahaha
hahahaha, but to them I am good LOL
Jake can you give me the information of who sells the items you mention in your video and cost?
most of them should be linked in the description
Pretty sure this guy spends all his time organizing his tools and no time using his tools 😂
Well.... hum, Maybe ...I can tell you that I don't spend any time searching for tools., and if someone calls me and says where is the SAE allen sockets, then i can tell them the exact drawer .
JakeOfALL Very true; you could probably tell them exactly how many inches from the edge of the drawer the 10mm socket is! All joking aside though, I love your packout system.
@@wlms04 ROTFLMAO , thanks so much
@@JakeOfALL ahhhhh SAE LOL, where is that 10mm? 😂
