For my shoe covers, I use the food storage lids that look like shower caps. They work great and add no weight. And I have, at times, used the shower caps that I take from hotel rooms.
I totally agree about wanting to just get home once the leaving a vacation process has began. I’m always a little sad as a trip comes to an end but once I’m packed I just want to be on the way already!
I had a few Amazon gift cards to use and also used mine for those exact Bose headphones!! I got them right before a two week trip to the Philippines, which was a 15+ hour flight from LAX (talk about cranking up my bad anxiety!!). Unfortunately, Philippines Airlines isn't compatible with the plug (had to use their headphones), but I have no regrets getting them since we had a 10 hour layover in Manila in the middle of the night and I needed some sleep. I threw on the headphones and was able to take a few naps - total lifesaver! Thank you for the review of the Monos - I've been on a search for a "perfect for me" carry on bag for a few years and that one might be in the running. I really love the idea of that outer bag being used in the seat pocket - perfect!
I ordered the first set of 3 Away luggage in 2019. Went on two week cruise. When return home noticed one corner of large case was cracked. Away replaced it. 2022 went on another long cruise and returned home with an interior zipper broken. Away replaced that large case. Now will be on another long cruise this summer with my third new large case. AWAY does stand by their warranty. I am happy with the Away luggage except for the things that break.
yesss welcome to Team Over-Ear Noise-Cancelers! I got a pair (of Sonys) last year and I love them because, even though they take up a little more room, I can wear them along with my pressure-reducing earplugs on the plane and be in my own little world. I had the *coziest* 10-hour daytime flight last year with those, a blanket, and plenty of old black and white movies on the Lufthansa entertainment system.
I have been waiting for your review of the Monos Duffel bag. Glad to hear it’s working out for you. I am thinking about buying it for my upcoming Europe trip but concerned about the size restrictions in international flights.
Hi Jen, yes I will be flying on European carriers (ITA Airways, Finnair and Virgin Atlantic) and I heard that they are pretty strict when it comes to the size and weight of the carry-on bags, both luggage and underseat bag. Is that your experience as well?
Your story sounds familiar! We had 45 minutes to go between terminals in Changi (a huge airport) in a bus! Carry-on only, thankfully. My husband puts a bag under one and the kid under the other arm and just belts ahead. I hustle behind with the other bags. He made it to the plane just in time…everyone was already boarded. I got in as they closed the door. What a drama. They shouldn’t sell connecting flights with such little time between. Lesson learned!!!! 😂
Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones are awesome. The net flap inside of the case is where I keep an extra facemask too. Sadly the pin on my cord got bent so I'll need to use the AirFly. Btw I'd love to use your affiliate links but I'm in the UK.
I love unpacking videos. I recently went on a trip to Savannah, Georgia and did an inventory when I got home of what I used and what I didn't. I should have brought one less shirt and one less jacket! Notes for next time.
I always unpack very soon upon arriving home - totally agree it makes the most sense! (also - "cuir" is French for leather as you probably know by now). Glad you enjoyed your trip!
once you go bose you'll never go back. got my headphones 4 years ago for an international flight and they're still holding up amazingly! use them on every flight, commute, etc.
I have that bag! Love it! I bought mine in Munich, Germany in 2018. It's a work horse. Mine does have a cross body strap. In Munich I was given the VAT on the spot.
Hey Jen! I’m going on my first international flight this Oct and I realize I have no idea what you are talking about at the end of this video with your receipt for the bag you purchased. I would love, love, love a video on international travel and customs etc since I’ve never done it and have a lot of travel anxiety. Thanks for taking time to show us your unpacking. I love that’s it different from the typical pack with me style videos 😊
In most cases, international visitors don't need to pay sales tax on some (not all) purchases. And there's usually a minimum amount and ALSO if it's OVER a certain amount you have to declare it when you come back into the US and pay tax as applicable. Hope that helps! (it's why duty free shops exist - you can buy things at the international airports and skip the step of having to get the refund)
Your new bag is gorgeous! Are you worried about the leather getting scratched? I would love to take some of my leather bags on trips but worry about ruining them, but then what’s the point of owning them if they just sit in a closet? 😂 We just got back from a week long cruise yesterday and I’m working through our mountain of laundry at the moment. Trying to get as much done before we have to go back to the real world tomorrow 😉
YES this used to be me as well! I wouldn't with my nicer things because I was worried I'd ruin them but at home I never used them either so literally no point. I pack my good things carefully and do my best but I buy them to USE THEM (or at least this is who I'm working towards being?)
I have more trouble with people shoving my bag out from under their seat. They want to shove their bag under their seat. Our last flight the lady in front of me was in the first seat and was too lazy to put her bag overhead. The flight attendant asked her to put it there and instead she shoved it under her seat pushing mine out onto my feet.
Yes, that foldable hat looks adorable on you! Just checked it out on Amazon but you wear it so much better. Gonna order and hope I look cute like you and not the Amazon pics 😎😎😎
I've just discovered your channel and love it. I live in Australia and have travel anxiety too, so you can imagine what long haul flights are like for me! I love your presenting style. My question though is about that lovely grey zip neck sweater you're wearing in this and another recent video, it looks so comfy and soft- could you please say what brand it is? :)
So it’s so old and the company LL longer exists and it’s a men’s size! I actually bought it as a Christmas gift for one of my sons but he didn’t care for it so I swiped it. Thank you for the kind words!’
I am officially making myself a travel fan girl. One more weekend away from home in a room that was way too warm was the deal breaker. I shall not continue to suffer in rooms that were not built for chubby middle aged women!!
I love my Away everywhere bag! But I will never carry anything larger in a duffle type bag. I have one duffle bag that I took for a trip to Spain and Portugal and it is larger and heavier. Big mistake. I was 76 years old and had to climb up the steps to board the plane coming home from Madrid, so, of course I had to carry that big duffle up the steps without my rolling bag underneath it. It was pure torture to carry that bag up those steps. I now have a backpack for that reason. If I need anything bigger than the Away it will always be the backpack now. I’mm 77 now and can no longer put the Away larger carry on up in the overhead bin. I have had to go with a Travel pro underseat bag as my carry on now, so I now have to check a bag. Bummer! Thanks for you many great suggestions along the way. Be well!
Pls remember that baby powder used to contain talc which is harmful for the environment. If you do the baby powder hack, make sure to use a powder derived from cornstarch or other non-talc based powders. Thank you!
Talc itself isn’t harmful, it is the fact that it is typically mined near other minerals (mainly asbestos) which is harmful. Most testing has found that talc does not contain asbestos however, there is a chance that it can which is why it has been removed from many products including baby powder.
Baby powder and baby lotion were marketing gimmicks created decades ago. Babies don’t need them at all, and the talc in the original formula caused uterine cancer in women. The aerosolized powder in any formula is terrible for babies and adults’ lungs. Just use it sparingly.

You will never regret BOSE. As someone that flies Southern to Northern hemisphere I never fly without them
I just might have to buy that mono bag. You convinced me the detachable pouch for the plane. 🙂
So glad that your flight situation coming home worked out! Those Bose headphones sound like a dream for flying!
Yeah I had a hard time justifying the cost but now I get why people rave about them!
Love this! This is so helpful to see some better ways to “pack” to go home and organize during the trip!!!
I wish they sold that little “pocket pouch” separately 😢. What a fantastic idea!
Omg that leather Longchamp is beautiful! 😍
It has been my go to of late and I just adore it!
I ordered the first set of 3 Away luggage in 2019. Went on two week cruise. When return home noticed one corner of large case was cracked. Wow that’s amazing!
I love my traditional Longchamps but that leather is GORGEOUS. 😍
Ah yay! More packing tips from Jen!
Thanks Sarah!! I appreciate you very much!

Jen, I have a label maker that I use to label all of my electronic charger cables😀

I like these unpacking videos. Especially for carryon only.

Good to know!
Nordstrom Rack has a few leather cuir bags in the medium and large sizes...
Just checked and sadly none of the colors I like but some good deals!

The second time I was in London they did that for me at Herrods. Wish it had been that way there!
After my friend got bedbugs from being at a hotel everything gets washed and put in the dryer because that was a nightmare to fix.
Japan!!!!! Wow! Also, I love my Longchamps so much. I have multiples.
Yeah we are VERY excited!
Love the Longchamp!❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Can you post what brand the flatiron is? I love the size and need a travel one! Thx!
It's Kristen Stewart from Target I think?

@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge Thanks so much! I appreciate you for all the work you do for your channels. 🌺
Is there a good way to pack cords so you know which goes with what?
Just finished packing for 8 days in Denmark in my away carryon and the everyday bag…🙏🏻
WELL DONE!
Awesome video Jen!
Thank you!
