Use of the diagonal stripes in this quilt is visually stunning. It's a charming quilt. Thank you for the tutorial 😊 👍 💕
You make quilting truly so very easy, your a great teacher and tutorials are so easy to follow. Thanks x
Thank You! and thank you for watching:)
Love how you made this look so easy. God knows that with being a fairly new quilter, I make many mistakes. To bad it's half way thru the project, that I discover it, lol I did take a paper piecing course, an the item was a cup cozy for her desk at work. I just randomly added pieces till it took up the side I wanted. When I got the paper removed, the pieces had all come together to form a letter K. It's funny because my daughter's name is Kaylinda. What a coincidence. Im learning to not be so critical of the projects I've done so far. A couple purses, an hot pad holders. An a few coasters. I've started about 9 quilts , I just come up with an idea an start a new one, or learn a new technique an just have to do it tonite. Lol. I hope one day I'll finish a whole quilt, happy Quilting. Deb
Deborah Blaylock How exciting! a new quilter. Just have fun, don't worry about mistakes...some of the news ways to quilt have come from mistakes! You could find the next new way:) It will all come in time, enjoy the trip along the way...just like your cup cozy! happy sewing
:-)
I love panels! I have had so many given to me and here they sent folded. I never know what to do with them. You have given me so many ideas! Thank you so much
sew glad to help:)
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this video. I love panels but I never know what exactly how to put them together because I'm one who does not like the look of a traditional pieced quilt, I like more art quilting and things that are unusual. keep the videos coming :-)
thank you and thanks for watching
Awesome quilt! The cartoon corners are the frosting! 👏❤️👏
Laura - I have collected a few of these cartoons. They are a riot and so much fun to sew fun gifts. Thank you for informing us where to find more of them. I just love your tutorials. You manage to keep them so unique, with excellent instructions and tips. Glad I'm subscribed. Thank you again.

Glad the video came in handy:) Wish you could be there....I have fun for you, even buy fabric
This was an excellent video! I'm so glad you showed that these panel prints aren't even and how smart to find a fabric to help hide it. You managed to highlight a great panel while pulling attention away from some of its flaws.
Thank you, I'm glad you found it useful. I love using panels and some as so hard to resist. Have a great day

sweet I have stayed away from panels unless I was making pillow covers or doing them as appliques onto Tees. This has been extremely informative. TY for explaining the squaring up. LOVE these cartoons.
+carylanne rosten Glad I could help, be sure to give the panels a new try. and thanks for watching
I've had this panel and the cartoon strip fabric.in my stash for awhile because I wasn't sure how to showcase it. Now I know. Thank you!
I love PICKLES!!! That is cute!!! I am looking forward to seeing the fabric and more cartoon strips also. Thank You for always showing Is exactly, how to make Your Beautiful Quilts. 😊👍🏼

Panels are great fun to do. I love how quickly you can finish a quilt this way. I'm happy your like the way to cut the fabric! I hate waste,so I have figured out how not to waste. thanks for watching.
Laura, this fabric panel and coordinating fabrics are way too cute! Love what you did with it. By the way, Pickles is our FAVORITE cartoon...and in addition, Brian Crane actually lives close enough that we have seen him in person at the Nevada Museum of Art.
Hi Debbie, thanks! I love the fabric and the cartoon...when you see him next let him know I love his work.
Have a Merry Christmas
Well done! So very many great tips! Thanks! I have a similar panel I can now feel confident in sewing up!
Thanks so much for making a video of this. I was trying to use a panel as the centre of a child's quilt, and was going crazy because it had been printed so crookedly. Now I know how to fix that, so I can actually use it! ~Diana from Toronto
HRHDMKYT Your welcome, I so glad you found it helpful, happy sewing

This is the first time I've had the pleasure of viewing one of your videos. You do a fantastic job! Not only is this very clever but you are an excellent presenter! I'm subscribing to your post immediately.
Thank you and welcome:)
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have several panels but haven't used them because they are crooked. Now I know how to fix them! Thanks for sharing!
This is genius! HOW DID YOU LEARN ALL THE THINGS YOU KNOW??
...and it just so happens I have some fabric panels (in the lightest whisper soft pastels) from when I went on a shop hop to several quilt shops one year. Now I can confidently make it because you've taught me the tips! That bias-looking fabric is perfection for your cartoon quilt!
I noticed a comment below mine about sewing a Halloween quilt this way!! I LOVE Halloween and now I'll be able to have a H-tradition quilt to hang every October, a really fun scary one that I want to design myself (I mean, paint my own pictures on fabric).
Aaahhhh, sigh! Thank you! What became of this quilt you made in '14? You are so prolific!
It travels with me on my trunk shows and often finds it way on my lap while reading:) thanks
This was great I love it, I have panels that I didn’t know what to with them. Thanks
Adorable. Can't wait to try the sashing with cute corners. Nice instructions.

Fran Rhine .
That is really a sweet quilt! I have a cartoon panel too!
Thank you so much for this! I have quite a few cute panels; I can't resist buying kitty and dog ones but I really struggle on setting them! This tutorial helps so much!
Margo Jannuzi Sew glad I could help, I too love panels. I just picked up a peacock panel...can't wait to use it. Sometimes I just use them on the backs of small quilts...two for the price of one...quilting. Happy sewing
beautiful quilt, and it looks like a beginners quilt. I think I should start with this one. How big is this one?
Hi Laura and thanks a million! 😎🌸
Absolutely love this quilt. How unique!!!! Almost looks like a door with windows and it made me think of using Halloween Fabric Panels. How fun would that be to make it look like there are ghosts and witches looking out at you :D
***** YES Yes Yes How fun, be sure to send me a picture:) thanks for watching

Sew very cute! :) I really love how you did the borders.
Thanks Lana, That border works great with lots of different fabrics. thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for the tip on squaring up the panel. I have a bicycle panel by Henry Glass that I want to make into a bed runner. I am not a quilter but have been sewing for over 50 years.
Question: I never heard of Earl and Opal. I never saw it as a cartoon on TV? Maybe it is a comic strip rather than a cartoon? Can anyone clear this up for me?
Wow, you are a genius
I Love these youtube videos. The only thing that I do not like is stories. It makes me want to sleep when I watch these kind of videos.
Thanks and thanks for watching
I absolutely LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love this quilt.
thanks
I’d love to have that panel but can’t find it thanks for the tips
Where can I buy the fabric thanks Chris
Very good instructions. However, how do you quilt it? Did you quilt it before adding the binding? Did you add a sleeve? I am still a newbie.
I quilted it this way and did the binding after ua-cam.com/video/hV3nFbeaHNU/v-deo.html and I do like to add sleeve if I can:)
petmom ful wamazing love ❤️ it.

Thank you for your answer and congratulation for your tutos, I love them very well.
+Odile Domalain The fabric is from Timeless Treasures, however I don't think it is still available. and thanks for watching
Love this ♥️
What do you think about the idea of (for instance, using the cartoon strip panel) making a whole cloth quilt, layering the cartoon panel with batting and backing,...then using 1" wide strips of a woven fabric (something that will fray/rag nicely), ...then laying the woven strips inbetween all the cartoon panels, and 'stitching in the ditch', so you sew everything together by sewing the strips down the middle and across each panel...then clipping, then washing...and then it looks like you pieced all the little panels together, and gives it a rag look? Does this make any sense?
Yes it does and it sounds really cute! You know you can buy a roll of fabric just for that same thing! here check out this video ua-cam.com/video/ElIbSjMlVLY/v-deo.html
Hi, yes, I am am familiar with this product, unfortunately, we can't get it where I live and none of the quilt shops here can get it in either...
