Love watching all your videos, and happy knowing I can binge watch for quite a while before I run out of videos. I love this panel, and happen to have one!!! I've had it for about 2-3 yrs and just made it into a Fall quilt for my toddler grandson about 2 months ago. I wish I'd watched this video and others in which you use panels to make a larger quilt. I just used the panel, batting and a backing to make it a quilt the size of the panel and a 2 1/2 inch brown binding. I quilted it by hand. I embroidered around each figure with black or orange embroidery thread. Every flower, rake, pumpkin, bird, etc. I loved how puffy and soft it made it look. I have other panels that I will definitely use as centerpieces for larger quilts. Now I know that when my grandson outgrows this quilt I can make it bigger for him (if my dil let's me) she likes to save things. I guess if it lasts the test of time she can give it to a grandchild of hers in the future. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and great ideas.

This came across my UA-cam at the right time because I am making several panels into lap and bed quilts. So the idea of a 4 patch or even a 9 patch border is brilliant!

I love your idea of using 4-patch blocks to make your border. When you were first putting them on the design wall, I was feeling your pain about getting them distributed the way your wanted. But....after they were in the quilt and you got the entire effect, they looked great!

Love this panel, and your four patch border is another great idea. I’ve made some juvenile quilts using panels, and bordered them in different ways. Bit I never tried your idea. Must try for the next one. During the pandemic, I’ve made three large, bed size quilts, mostly using my stash for the piecing, and buying yardage for the borders and backing. The last six months I’ve made nine baby and child sized quilt tops. I have to finish and quilt them. Not my favorite thing to do. I’ve made them very simple, letting the fabric stand out and they turned out really cute. It’s been so nice just to sew. I bought a lot of precuts so cutting is minimal. Sometimes Its nice to relax and just sew!

New subscriber here and I really enjoyed your video. I have never made a quilt before but I bought a king size pillow sham with a bear scene on it and I thought I would try to make squares around it . Sounds a little crazy but I thought it would be like quilting around a panel. I’ll take the back panel off the sham so it will be a single layer . Oh well, wish me luck.

Here it is to yours after you've made this post add I found it today period I am trying to do a panel quilt and I understand about putting the first border on but what I don't understand is how you decided to use six and a half inch finished blocks and match them up on the sides in the top so you don't have to cut one or two down to fit the panel quilt. I hope this makes sense How do you figure out what size of blocks to use with your panel quilt? Thank you so much I enjoy your videos

Absolutely. Or you could use your pinwheels around the tshirt panel unless you’ve already made the pinwheel portion o the quilt. Having blocks of interest on both sides of the quilt would be great. Hope that helps.
