- I moved away from the UK at a young age and found a better life in Thailand!
Life in Thailand can be simple.. live the life you want and not what you think you're expected to live.
Young family trying to make it work in Thailand. It's not an easy task... We will share the challenges... the up's and down's...
If you have any questions I'm probably not the best person to give you solid advice but I will answer to the best of my knowledge and anything I share i've normally heard from a thai or a well established foreigner so isn't always 100% correct.

Went to Hua Hin during covid and loved its laid back vibes. Good to see its still pretty similar. Might be my new getaway spot with the twin daughters.
Yeah 100% your type of spot. Looking forward to the road trip video from you when you go.
I agree with your description of Hua Hin , I moved here about 3 months ago , because of the beach and the more peaceful and quiet lifestyle and you already said it is suitable for young families and also the older expats .
The people that bag Hua Hin are more than likely single and between 20 to 40 whose main aim in life is pubs & clubs and of course the ladies. I spent months reviewing different places which would be suitable for retirement , Bangkok,Krabi, Chiang Mai , Chiang Rai , Udan Thani and finally Mukdahan , the latter being where my partner is from . I chose Hua Hin for fact that it is not far from Bangkok , just a re-assurance due to my age being closer to major hospitals or clinics for any unexpected health problems in the future.
Actually just got back last night from a weekend in Phuket and had a really good time site seeing and visiting the local attractions , Big Buddha,Patong Beach,Jungceylon and Central shopping centres etc during the day and walking Bangla Road on Saturday and Sunday evening .
Best of luck in 2024 with your ambition to start another business venture .
Thanks for coming back and watching another video. Oh excellent first hand experience of someone whos moved to HH recently! I feel like you done the very sensible and correct approach and moved around until you found something you liked. Can I ask your opinion on Krabi for longer term living? I do think people 3 hours away from bangkok is such a good point. Also think you hit the nail on the its head when you mentioned about it being for the families / older expats.
Great Vlog Drew, looks like the family enjoyed it, and yes it may not be the video for everyone but its another place people may have on their radar when visiting beautiful Thailand, luv your work and effort mate, stay safe, take care Cheers
Thank you appreciate the comment! All the best!!
Oh yeah 😎 luv the music !
Great video Drew - I’m currently in Hua Hin for the first time & luving it - just the right pace - I’m not into bars and I don’t drink alcohol - the hotel you stayed at seemed good value - Thanks for sharing 👌👍👋🙏
Thank you for watching and the kind comment, Yeah I feel like it would suit a lot of people! I'm the same don't drink alcohol (maybe 1-2 times a year) I hope your enjoy your time there! all the best
Great vid Drew. I like HH. All the visitors will arrive this month. It’ll be packed out again soon. Good for local businesses. I’m surprised how quiet it gets during the Wet Season. It really doesn’t rain that much there…compared to inland areas up North. It’s worth a visit any time of the year.
Thank you, Yes I thought that may of been the case! ill be coming down south for the next trip! Thanks for watching and sharing the knowledge
Nice video, as someone who lives in HH it’s good to hear some positivity.
Re the no drone flying, I think that’s because you were quite near to the Kings summer palace so probably a security issue.
Next time give it at least 2/3 nights and you’ll get much more out of your trip.
On the strength of this I subscribed, looking forward to seeing some more of your content 👍🏻
Thank you for watching and the comment,
Yes that makes a lot of sense about the drone! Yeah we will certainly be back its a nice little get away!
Yeah HH is great for any type of getaway, hope you enjoyed it. Been going there for many years, my daughter grew up having pony rides along that main beach 😎 every year of two. Great place, miss it 😎👍
Yeah enjoyed it for sure! Oh nice maybe mine will do the same when shes a bit older! I hope you get back there soon mate
Hotel looks bang on ! Hua hin is probably one of my favourite cities places to go to in Thailand
Yeah it wasnt bad at all for the money, you'd need some transport though :)
Beautiful family . Love this vlog .Lana is so precious. Hua Hin is cool. Nice.
Thank you much appreciated
a rlly great drone shot mate, never went to hua hin. maybe I’ll go after watching this 😅
Thank you, hopefully you do!
You are a smart guy drew, a smart person can bring the customers to a hotel. Just look at Maybelles coffee garden. I would love to buy a shut down hotel on the beach. Looks like a nice trip. Check it for sure in December.
Thanks for the compliment, to much work for me at the min/money but hopefully I can get something a little different in motion for Hua hin though! Thanks for watching :)
Hahahahhaha a shoutout. Don’t reveal too much of the inner nerd drew. 😂
Great vid mate
What did he wake up at 6am for?
90% of people wouldnt have a clue what I said haha. The other 10% are in our discord reading it lol
@@lifeinisan true true
Great video, I've been thinking about spending March in Hua Hin. I live in Chiang Mai but need to get away from the burning season.
Thank you, sorry about the slow response time, Yeah hua hin great little spot in my eyes and im going south myself to try and avoid it as much as possible!
As you can fly direct to HH from CM there’s quite a lot of people who come down during burning season
@@johnwalsh1645 I had no idea, thank you for the information!
I've lived in hua Hin for two years it's got everything I need I don't party anymore and live a quiet life its great for that and great for family's
Yeah I can certainly see why you live there. If I didnt love isan id certainly look at maybe staying there a lot more!
Good job mate looks like a nice place we are from Brisbane Australia and we have some farm land outside Khon kaen we visit once a year. We are trying to plan for three months next year holiday.
Oh very nice! Can't beat a bit of Isan :) Thats a good length holiday. Will you do some travelling when here?
Decent room for 1000b
Hua Hin is a good chilled place . I like it .
Thanks for watching and yeah I thought it was good value as well :)
Great video 👌☘️
Thank you, appreciate it!
@@lifeinisan your very welcome, great content and your cheerful to watch, keep em coming 🙏👍☘️
Book in now if you plan to go around xmas new year, it was very very busy last year. Good place though i thought...
Thanks for the tip, I probably should! I feel like its a great spot, slept on it for a while. Thanks for watching appreciate it
Nice Vdo Drew. I also like Hua Hin and Cha Am as a family destination. Did you try Prachuap Khiri Khan yet ? We like it alot. Try it next time if you can and i think you will be not disappointed.
Thank you, appreciate the compliment and you watching. I haven't been to prachuap khiri khan yet but I will certainly add it to my list and we will be going south soon! So will stop for sure! Thank you for the suggestion
@@lifeinisan Thanks also. Nice to see some content from younger people and they thoughts about the areas. We lived in Phuket for so long and just moved to Khon Kaen and enjoy it alot so far. We really enjoy your channel. 👍
Glad you are enjoying the content its a little all over lol, will be back home isan myself soon enough. I've heard from a couple people lately doing the jump from phuket to KK! Happy to hear the move is going well
@@lifeinisan Fair enough. Talk to you later. Get home safely.
Visa Hotel in HH is very good and less than 1K. Close to town too. Very clean.
Thanks for the suggestion, maybe ill give it a go on a future trip :)
Beautiful family you have Drew!!!
Congratulations!!!
Beautiful partner and Adorable Mini Drew half Thai Daughter!!!
Have Fun!!!
Thank you appreciate it! Mini drew (maybe a little more crazy 555)
@@lifeinisan 555 yea!!
girlfriend lives in Nakhon pathom so we have been to hun hin a few times now i quite like its defiantly quite compared to pattaya. the 2 malls are really good as well plenty of choice on thai and foreign food. i was there last month and it was dead most places closed maybe it will pick up with high season coming.
Oh nice! do you live in thailand all year round? Its certainly more quiet than pattaya but to me thats ideal haha! Yeah maybe ill pop down when high season is in full swing and see the difference. Thanks for watching!
@@lifeinisan haha i wish i did. I work for an airline so it allows me to travel and my roster allows me to get away. currently i have 4 months planned next year. But still hard maintaining a relationship.
Oh nice, see I can come to you for me discount on flights ;) Oh thats still really good 4 months is a decent length of time (some people only get that 2 weeks) I hope everything works out for you (I can imagine it can be hard on the relationship)
@@lifeinisan thanks mate yh its a decent amount. going forward going to have to think about something more permanent though.
Looks like you stayed quite a bit out of town. HH is a place for Bangkok Thais for a weekend getaway. I prefer Pranburi or Dolphin Bay.
Yeah it wasn't bad though as had the car but thank you for mentioning them spots I will check them out for sure!
How's the new car consumption wise? Noticed only a 25l tank? Is it a hybrid?
Consumption is good (IMO) Small tank but hybrid :) Still early days though im doing a run home in it soon to isan ill let you know how it goes
@@lifeinisan cool thx
Go to Maybelle's Coffee Garden Restaurant in Phuket breakfast lunch and dinner… Specializes Western and Thai food… they a Air BNB very nice near the restaurant… Enjoy… HH looks nice …..
I went in during the covid times, nice little spot 👍thank you for watching and the suggestions. I'll be sure to pop in again when I'm down that way
Hotel didn't close because of the economic crisis, but it closed because of renovations. They got new investor, Most lands in Hua Hin beach owned by old money families.
Oh interesting, I wasn't talking like I know just thought it would of been the crisis. I hope to see it booming in the future as its a great spot and ive slept on it for a long time should of spent a bit of time there when passing through. thanks for filling me in and watching the video!
A cup? 🍻
HH is my jam
I can see why people like it 👍
Like your videos, I was just in Hua Hin. Pretty cool place. The new tax laws are stating in Jan 2024. I was considering moving to thailand ?
Thank you for watching, Yeah I enjoyed my short stay there. I personally haven't looked into it to much as it will probably change a few times before the actual rules are set and me personally all my income comes in via my companies so I pay tax regardless. But I can understand why its on peoples mind for sure! If I do get on concrete info on it ill be sure to share!
I like Hua Hin, the only thing that is annoying and that isn't Hua Hin's fault is the it is on the wrong side of the gulf, sunsets are better than sun rises
Oh thats a good point would be SOOO much better if pattaya and hua hin swapped lol
A cup size
More like a saucepan size 5555
32. B cup size 😂
5555 32.D maybe :D
@@lifeinisan I did see all the captions I was paying attention 😎
@@morayr6 yeah and I watched it all the way to the end so now he has to pay me 🤣
If UA-camrs "ask"; would I visit etc...? The answer is always yes.
It will take "business in general" another 3 years to come back from the enormous damage that was caused by the COVID drama. There are closed businesses and run-down buildings all over the place due to COVID-19, I guess 30% of the businesses did not recover.
You have a fair point haha! Maybe ill break the trend and do it with a place I wouldnt
Just seen you edited the comment about the businesses etc. Yeah look forward to things getting back to what they were previously (I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE OF WHAT THAT IS THOUGH) I loved covid times here in thailand but I was a lucky one some people lost so much! Thanks for watching and sharing
Stayed in HH in 2019 before covid, it was DEAD! I honestly don't get why people like it. Everything is run down, empty restaurants. Gale force winds 23hrs a day. Hated every minute of it. Hotel staff stealing my wife's belongings too. Went to 7 kings, same thing, deserted. The nightlife is tragic, it consists of about 6 crappy bars filled with old slappers well past their use by date. I was asked if I wanted to go back in 2022,i said HELL NO! anyone thinking of going there, don't. It's a fukin dump! Even if I was offered all expenses paid and free spending money I would decline.
You make Hua Hin sound like a dream. Can't wait to get down there with the twins
@@rickyisaan i will lay money on the line if he got all expenses paid and free spending money he would be there in a wink or should that be in a wank
😂😂😂
