  • I moved away from the UK at a young age and found a better life in Thailand!
    Life in Thailand can be simple.. live the life you want and not what you think you're expected to live.
    Young family trying to make it work in Thailand. It's not an easy task... We will share the challenges... the up's and down's...
    If you have any questions I'm probably not the best person to give you solid advice but I will answer to the best of my knowledge and anything I share i've normally heard from a thai or a well established foreigner so isn't always 100% correct.

    Dig up a pond and use the soil that dug up to level up the rest of the land. The pond can be used for fish farm. Part of the land could be used to plant sweet mangoes and some part for vegetable and some part for rice. A mixture uses of land should be an ideal, it's king rama 9 ' s idea.

      Yeah thats 100% something we are planning, we have that smaller pound and would extend. Just got to check with all the correct offices/people and make sure everything would be achievable.

      The wife wan't to keep buying more land, I just want to keep the small strip we have and make it a paradise.

    As my dad always said “they aren’t building anymore land son” from that point I bought land in U.K. and Thailand. My first purshase was a garage for £1k when I was 19. It’s probably worth £40k now

    I think the idea is good but you should check a few legalities such as what you will be permitted to do with the land (both the new strip and existing). Also assuming you are good to build a road, would you be allowed to join with the main road?
    Before you consider any build (wall, road or otherwise) you should get a survey done to determine the exact boundaries. As far as I am aware, Nor Sor 3 doesn't have this, but Nor Sor 3 Kor does. I would check with the Land Department and also whether it is possible to join and upgrade the plots to Nor Sor 4 (Chanote). If you can get everything on a Chanote, I believe this will benefit you in the future.
    There are other things to consider for the future such as connection to electricity, water etc.

      Excellent comment, yes so much for me to look into. Even if all the boxes are ticked itll still be a case of raising the land and waiting for a couple years and in that time a lot can change plans wise but things are certainly only getting more expensive. thanks for stopping by and watching

    we have recently sub divided 1 rai. only do it if you understand what you are in for and can pay cash. I do new development only if others are also building.. bit risky if you're the only one around. also go to local land office and check first.

      Thank you for the comment, How did everything go your end? In our area houses are constantly being built but that farm spot is a little more out the way. The land is my daughters name and wasn't a cost but yes Id say you are right about the risky part. Food for thought and will need to pop down the land office and check for sure. Before the land was passed down they always spoke about lifting the land and building a thai style house and living out with the buffalo. Maybe just a pipedream

      Possibility, this is something that would go on years certainly wouldn't want to do it all in one go. The raising the land is first and then wait a few years and "we go again" with a build haha

    I know your in Issan but looks like a lump of land for 50K. You need to confirm the land is Nor Sor 3 and owned outright by the family.

      Hi toby, do you mean the road access? - Im trying to find that out atm, our land is owned outright and praying the road access land is outright as well

      @@lifeinisan Hi Drew. I thought it was the whole lump of land behind you in the vlog. If your only buying a piece of land for access it seems reasonable. Building up the land is usually cheap depending on where they source the soil and how far the trucks need to travel. I got 130 trucks to build up my land and remember it was not expensive.

      Buy the land it will be on your partners name , since it's farming land and it stays in the family then the owner / family can transfer the chanote over to you girls name .
      build a new house on the big land that your girl has already.
      Better to start loading the sand and building asap once soil is steady and solid because building materials are becoming bloody expensive.

      I wish :) it will literally just be a laneish width through there land to ours so I can make a road. I think if all the dots connect ill raise the land but not 100% sure what the future will hold for it (The plots on the road are very expensive like eye watering so I feel like ill be adding value doing so even if we wasnt to keep/build. How many rai did you build up if you dont mind me asking?

      The strip of land im talking about purchasing would be to build a road to our plot else we wouldn't have access. It would all be long term and we do already have 2 buildings very close by.

    If i were you, I'd be spending money on things that make money. You can raise lands, build houses etc once you created some projects that actually create income mate.

      Thats a good point to make, raising the land and then the settling period will be a couple years. You still make a good point though, one of my latest projects has done well so that's why something like this is even on my mind. 100% cant have enough though and i still need more! haha

    sure how many rai that is but I guess is more than 10 rai. I have just filled in 4 rai along with two ponds. Your builder is way off the mark. I paid 475k baht to raise that to road level. Check out my kids on it.
