  • Try this simple no flip over easy eggs recipe for perfect over easy eggs every time. The hardest part of cooking over easy eggs is the flip. The last thing we want is to break that beautiful yolk that looks so fantastic on our plates. No need to worry about this problem anymore.
    Shopping List:
    2 Eggs
    1 tbsp. butter or non-stick spray
    1 tsp. water
    Kosher salt & course black pepper
    Directions:
    Heat a non-stick skillet over a little more than medium heat then add the butter or non-stick spray. Allow the butter to melt.
    Crack the eggs carefully into the skillet taking care not to break the yolk.
    Allow the white of the eggs to cook and set.
    Season with the salt and pepper and add the water.
    Reduce the heat to just below medium.
    Cover (preferably with a glass see-through cover) and allow the yolks to form a whitish cloud over them. When you see the yolks completely clouded over yolks turn off the heat and serve immediately.
    Enjoy!

    I don't eat eggs myself, so am really unfamiliar with cooking methods for them and my boyfriend's elderly father asked for these this morning. Found your video and had one very impressed old man thinking I was a vet at these! Thank you so much for your concise but thorough instructions!

    Never knew this was a possibility ! My mom always taught to flip, and I could never get the right moment to do it without breaking the yolk or overcooking. So I’m always anxious doing it. Definitely going to try this !

      I have another way to do it because I want my whites thin, and my father gave us a choice between "open" eye and "closed" eye fried eggs when we were in Yellowstone Park in 1948!

    NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES! (some wear aprons lol)
    Yay! My husband thinks I can cook everything, specifically he and our kids believe I'm so egg cooking queen. That I have some magic touch, I even have had my friend who is an actual chef say that my scarbled eggs were "delicious but OMG pretty! Estheticly pleasing to the eye without any intention". To which I can say I am actually a very, very good cook. BUT OVER-EASY EGGS ARE MY NEMISIS AND MY FAVORITE. I can manage to sometimes get the flip just right, other times not. When I DO make perfect over-easy eggs, I have to do so 1 at a time.... This is problematic when making for 4 people.... Thus, I mostly stick with scrambled. Well I've been wanting over easy eggs so badly so U made the yesterday & today, 3/4 of the yesterday were great, the rest were over medium ish? Then today everyone asked for over easy eggs and hasbrowns. I caved. However I thought yesterday a lid might help - which I swear is why 3/4s were perfect. Today, I Googled "how to make over-easy without flipping" I found this video!!!
    You're my new egg hero! More than that, I won't lie I had a panic attack at the thought of more than 2 eggs at the same time (I typically do them 1 at a time, sometimes - RARELY 2 at a time) but I said "Go big or go home! You asked and he has answered!" I did it! I made 5 perfect over easy eggs in 1 pan at the same time in less than 5 minutes start to finish!!!

      LOL, thats it exactly. An extra 30s - 1 min will solve that and give you a partial over-easyish to over-medium that doesn't dry the yolk.

    I tried it today, didn’t work 100% for me because it was the first time, but I get the idea it’s a great way to do them. I just need some more practice. Thank you for sharing..

    • @RICHARDINTHEKITCHEN
      @RICHARDINTHEKITCHEN  3 роки тому

      It didn't work for me either the first time. It's more playing with the heat of your stove. Every stove burner tends to be different. There's a sweet spot you have to find on yours to make it work. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

    • @boots7859
      @boots7859 3 роки тому

      It really depends upon the type of stove, elec/gas, and the type of pan, cast/non-stick.
      I usually use the non-stick for obvious reasons, however the cast has much more mass and adding a little water doesn't drop the heat to beloiw boiling like it does with the non-stick. If using non-stick you might need to up the heat a 1/4 notch, or if using cast try dropping it to med-low. If you have a vent on your lid, stick a piece of paper towel in it to allow the steam to build up just a bit more pressure which will help cook the top of the egg.

    I used to be pretty good at flipping my eggs without breaking the yolk, ya know, just a quick flip of the wrist. When I say USED to means I got some hot grease, so now I'm a little gun shy, probably an age thing. BUT, what I'd like to add for those watching, I guess the runnier the yolk is the better it is for you? I tried to make poached eggs but haven't had the greatest of luck.

    • @RICHARDINTHEKITCHEN
      @RICHARDINTHEKITCHEN  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching. Yes, runnier egg yolks retain more of its nutrients so bit more healthy. Another note is the less they are cooked, the less oxidation takes place caused by the heat, therefore a bit less worry on your cholesterol. All the cholesterol in eggs is in the yolks. Cooking eggs kills any bacteria, so that would be the only concern. Recommended is 2-3 minutes each side. But if you have issues flipping, use a spatula as you tilt the skillet slightly and scoot some of the grease over the top of the egg, which will cook that side. Another tip is try to refrigerate them as soon as possible after buying because that halts any bacteria from growing. Hope that helps. Thanks again!

    I always cook my eggs in my bacon or sausage grease and just flip the grease over top of them with my spatula to cook the whites.

    Probably should change the title to be accurate. " How to baste eggs" A technique to does not flip an egg is not "over" anything. "How to baste an egg" is what you are demonstrating.

    If you don't Flip them, then they aren't "OVER Easy", they're "Easy", and they don't taste as good.
