Thank you for this. I'm a hospice nurse and part-time caregiver and one of my client's prefers his eggs overeasy. I'm confident today that he'll get almost perfect eggs overeasy!
Thank you SO MUCH Deronda for posting this! I'm not an expert cook by any means, so by taking the time to post SIMPLE cooking videos, it really does help people like me learn some more basics and develop more confidence with cooking. I managed to successfully cook a couple of eggs over easy for my husband, with this video playing on my phone alongside with me- he was happy with how they turned out and ate them! Thanks again for taking the time to post this ❤️
I have a demonstration of cooking an egg tomorrow and this is what I'm gonna do, I kinda feel a little bit of confidence that I can do it after watching this video, hope it turns good
Keep in mind when ordering this in restaurants, some places do over-easy a little too easy and it doesn't cook all the way through. For those who find that to be a bit gross to eat, you _can_ order it 'over-medium' and they'll come out just the way she has shown in this video. Perfect consistency!
yea some do but most don't. and who the heck wants to take the chance and waste your breakfast and egg getting served a hard yolk. Some restaurants also over cook steak. I'm not going got start ordering it well done assuming they are incompetent.

For my entire life I’ve only eaten scrambled or hard boiled eggs, but just recently I wanted to finally broaden my horizons a bit. I didn’t think I would like super runny yolks, so I ordered over medium at a restaurant and they came out great. Runny, but maybe just ever so slightly gelatinous. I really liked them. I’ll be ordering my eggs this way for the foreseeable future.
Dearest Deronda, I thank you for you service and your commitment to the cuisine.... I will be celebrating my 2nd year anniversary with my shmoopy boopy. Corona quarantine brought me here. Thank you Deronda for your soothing southern charm in these times of turmoil. And also for teaching me how to cook the perfect egg because I can't go pay someone to do it well for me anymore.
That;s the hardest part for me too, flipping the egg, and getting it out of the pan. I've been looking for a pan with very shallow sides so I can just slide the egg out, but no such luck.
Don’t be scared of it. If you cook it long enough initially, you’ll notice the yolk hardens and doesn’t move around easily. It becomes extremely easy to flip if you do with it with some quickness. If the yolk breaks when you pick it up, you didn’t cook it long enough yet
Thanks so much for this video! I looked up a bunch of other over easy egg videos, but your video is by far the one that REALLY helped me! Your tips helped me so much to learn how to tell if I'm undercooking or overcooking it. I always struggled with that in the past! You're a lifesaver!
Oh, my goodness. I have been doing it all wrong for so long! I tried it your way this morning with 3 eggs in my little 8 inch GreenPan skillet and they turned out just perfect! The other day when I made eggs they were so stuck to the pan and it was just a mess. I thought my pan had gone bad, but it was just the fact that I was using too much heat. Thank you SO much for your wonderful and helpful video. I'm so happy! :)

I thought I was super fly because I flipped my first attempt without breaking yolk, only to find the yolk was like a hard boiled egg when I went to eat it lol
How long did you cook it after the flip? It should only be on that side for 30-40 seconds. That is why it cooks the majority of the time before the flip.
Finally. A video that explains why my over easy eggs always turn a bit brown on the bottom. I need to really slow down and keep the heat low. Thank you.

Look at you playing with that egg like a boss, I am so not the boss with my eggs! I've come to the conclusion that my heat is too high? I haven't been patient enough. Your egg came absolutely perfect! Thank you!
That looks more like a poached egg. Still delicious though... In my opinion, a fried egg is supposed to have a little bit of crust, so you do want it bubbling a little. Cast iron makes the best fried egg, it just requires more oil. I think the point is that "best" is preference based.
I disagree. When you order/make overeasy eggs, ordering runny is when you get the white uncooked. Regular overeasy is the perfect egg yolk uncooked but white fully cooked. Over medium is when the yolk starts to harden but not fully... you can sop up some egg yolk with your toast but rest remains stuck to the egg white. Well done or hard is nothing runny. I mean the whole REASON why this version started was to NOT have the runny white that sunny-side up can have.
Beautifully done. How in the world did you not break that yolk is beyond me. Not necessarily on the flip, but when you slid the spatula underneath it right after doing so.
Excellent video, I made perfect over easy eggs on the first try. Word of advice, skillet size does matter, I was using a 10'' skillet and the yolk spread out more. Also if you are cooking more than one egg put them in a ramkin or bowl then pour them into the skillet.

There we go!! I figured out what I was doing wrong. I kept the pan on the stove even if I saw bubbling, and the egg usually comes out overcooked on the bottom and undercooked on the top, whilst also being oddly dry... I will try lifting the pan every so often, thank you!
Perfect instructions thank you so much. I like to use coconut oil I like how healthy this version is! I need eggs because they’re healthy and have heard. This is the healthiest style of cooking them.

When the white isn't runny, that's an over medium.

This is an old video but its my best friends birthday today and their only request was over easy eggs and this worked out perfect. Thank you!
AWESOME & Happy birthday!
I have tried cooking over easy eggs and been unsuccessful. After watching your video I cooked my first over easy eggs perfectly!! Thank you 👍
I did it but had it on medium heat. Came out real delicious 😋😋
Great 👍

Awww THANK YOU💖💖💖all these years I tried. Thanks God bless you & yours
Glad I could help
I remember how much I use to watch your videos as I grew, thank you❤️
You are so welcome!
This would have to be the easiest Eggs Over Easy method I've seen 👍🤤
Eggs over easy, not overcooked and greasy!
Thank you 😀
I just made a fried egg for the first time following your instructions and it came perfect! Thank you 😊
Great job!
I’m 20 and I’ve just now started cooking aparantly I’m good at it but I only know how to cook a few things this is really helpful so thanks for the instructions
There we go!! I figured out what I was doing wrong. I kept the pan on the stove even if I saw bubbling, and the egg usually comes out overcooked on the bottom and undercooked on the top, whilst also being oddly dry... I will try lifting the pan every so often, thank you!
Gonna make this tomorrow for Father’s Day 😌😌😌 thank you 🙏
The background music is perfect! Made my day!
I’m starting junior year in about a week so I’ll be waking up before everyone else I’ll need to make my own breakfast thank you so much
Perfect instructions thank you so much. I like to use coconut oil I like how healthy this version is! I need eggs because they’re healthy and have heard. This is the healthiest style of cooking them.
Thank you Deronda. I 'll try it and see if I can do it without splattering the yoke. Wish me luck, I'll need it!
