    Perfect. I can tell that comes out, just needed to see how. Now I know. Pulling my engine too. I'd love to see what the next steps are. I'm taking the harness off and trying to just lay it on the battery side on the inner fender. I'll know early tomorrow if that's going to work for me.
    Thanks for posting this!

    Thank you clay for the great video I’m having trouble with my bright lights they won’t turn off ever I changed dimmer switch didn’t help I changed the on off switch didn’t help so I’m thinking it’s got to be in the fuse box. My question is there a light relay under that fuse box? I’ve been told that but would like to know before I remove the fuse box

    Question about the connectors underneath the fuse block. The connectors you are removing and laying over the engine or removal. Is that an entire engine harness? Or is there a way to replace a singular connector? Also is there somewhere to find out what the name/part number off each connector? On my 2015 Silverado there are multiple connectors under the fuse box like yours, and only one connector is corroding. I’m wondering if just that harness can be replaced or is that just one piece that all has to be replaced.

    I assume the 3 nuts only need to be removed if I’m removing the entire box,correct. I simply can not get that fuse tray/block out

      Well the reason that I don’t do that is because mouth breathers don’t understand that vehicles are made for several years that are the same.
      The reason manufactures do that is to save money producing millions of parts is much cheaper than only producing 100,000 apart
      And even though they may look a little bit different the function is pretty much the same and the removal is fairly similar as well.
      Also I take a little bit of assumption that if you’re attempting to remove your fuse box you have a slight bit of mechanical ability...... and were able to look at something and discern possibly how to take it out once you’ve seen a somewhat similar one taking out as well. Sometimes I shouldn’t assume things

    I have a 2010 and the truck was vandalized they cut the 2 sides harness wire bundles and took the two plugs that plug under the fuse tray and took the tray as well. My question where could I get those bottom plugs and a complete tray with fuses??

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  3 роки тому +1

      Yes Tim that should be fairly easy you will want to look for one of them junkyards that allow you to pull your own parts then find a fuse box that looks similar and you will be able to cut them off there at least that’s going to be the most economical way
      Another way is that you can input your ZIP Code into this and search for vehicles identical to yours and that will give you a list of salvage yards in your area that may Have the fuse box and connectors that you’re looking for you will obviously have to call multiple ones , and describe what you’re looking for because generally they do not stock them as searchable items
      Car-part.com
      Even though this place does not pay me for advertising I’ve been using them for about a decade and a half and they don’t collect information all they ask for is your ZIP Code you could email them for me though and let them know that they should LOL

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  5 років тому

      It is definitely the same for the most part. Manufactures need to make as many of one part as possible so they Can save money on production cost so they don’t make a lot of different types of fuse boxes they generally just make one particular type a fuse box and add and delete things that they do not need for other models I hope the video was helpful

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  3 роки тому +1

      Well usually wires don’t break when they’re wrapped up in tape unless there was some kind of incident that happened prior knowing what I know about these fuse boxes I would recommend taking it out and separating it you’ll probably find corrosion in it it’s very common for these sorry I do not know how to remove that wiring loom off the top of my head

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  Рік тому +1

      Well, they’re all similar so even if yours doesn’t look identical to this one, it’s pretty much the same procedure. You really can’t ruin anything taking the fuse box out. Just make sure when you go to put it back in you carefully put the plug back in you can bend the pens, but other than that you really can’t do anything wrong

    • @hduke1307

    Great video, quick question when I’m trying to order the part it says it needs reprogramming is this true or just plug and play this is on a 10 Silverado thanks

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  Рік тому +1

      It might need to be correlated basically meaning a basic reprogramming I’m so usually dealership would probably be about half an hour charge you can obviously plug it in and try it it is it going to hurt anything and it isn’t going to work any different. But it may cause track stability control, light to be on because the Vin number wouldn’t be programmed to that module. I would assume it would still communicate and probably work eventually re-learning the parameters of your specific vehicle.

    how to do you take the plugs out do you just pull them out because I’ve tried on my Silverado and they are stuck in there

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  3 роки тому +1

      Well sometimes they have a screw in the center of them
      And sometimes they have what’s called a camlock
      Generally the fuses just go right into the plug so that might be why you are unable to remove it
      You can take your cell phone and take a couple of pictures of the fuse box and then remove all the fuses and it may make them plugs come out a lot easier we careful though make sure you put the fuses back where they go

      And what do they for?

    • @sharpcarco
      @sharpcarco  Рік тому

      Well, that depends on if they’re connected to the other one do you see a fuse? If you don’t, they’re not fused, they are Extra Post for adding extra power or accessories that did not come with your particular truck, but come on other models of trucks.
      Obviously, I’m sure you understand but probably never really thought about it. It wouldn’t make monetary sense for a manufacturer to manufacture 10 different fuse boxes it’s cheaper for them to manufacture one and put them in 10 different model vehicles. . That’s why they’re there, but probably not used.
      Hope that helps you Brandon. Have a great day.
