I love how much emphasis you put on how many people are there at what time in this series. we also like to stay away from crowds so that is super helpful.
I saw this perfect picture of the lake on Instagram and it was surreal. I kept looking at other images on Instagram that make it look like heaven on earth. Now I know that pictures are edited at times, so I figured a video capture of this lake can't be too far off. Then I came across your video and it set things straight! Thanks for being so transparent!
Thoroughly enjoyed this Vlog guys, had no idea Lago Di Braies gets this busy, and during Covid! Also, never knew instagrammers paid €150 for private access on the boat house! 😳
As a passionate landscape photographer, I have to say I still managed to enjoy the lake at sunset and sunrise (both summer and autumn - much better in autumn). But even at those times, you can find every morning about 15/20 photographers trying to hike the few meters near the boat place to take the shot. Funnily enough, my most beautiful shot is from the other side of the lake.
It has become a very popular spot but for totally good reason, it really is an absolutely stunning place and no wonder photographers would like to get a good photo of it! :)
I live pretty close to this lake and have relatives that live there. I used to stay with them over the summer sometimes and that was only like 10 years ago. I remember how it used to be, you could just go there for the whole day and chill with friends, have some food or just go for a walk and the only people would be those from the region. Ever since that Italian show they did at the lake the place has been flooded. And Instagram is just making it worse. It even got so bad that there were traffic jams for many kilometers. Idk the lake is probably one of the best in the world but I haven't been in 4 years because it's so crowded :( I am glad I got to make those memories and got to experience something so beautiful before the whole world found it! Great Vlog!
this lake reminded me so strongly off Lake Louise in Canada, scenic but overcroded with tourists, parking lot is already packed at 10am and a Fairmont-like hotel on the side. Though I strongly advice to see this lake once, especially go rent a boat and enjoy the lake away from the crowded walkway around it. Rented a boat for 30, but ended up being 90min (wasn't even upcharged) but from the boat you get amazing pictures as well
Hi! I live here in Italy and I always go on holiday in South Tyrol. I have known the lake of Braies since I was a child: before it was an oasis of peace and serenity, but since in Italy was broadcast the fiction "Un passo dal cielo" (2011), shot right at the lake, it has become a favorite destination for tourism mass - even of people who have never set foot in the mountains. Once there was not even the large parking lot you saw and access was free. Now everything is distorted. And to think that the lake is located in a natural park ... The owners of the hotel, in defiance of the rules, have had entire hectares of wood cut down to make parking. There is also a lawsuit pending, if I'm not mistaken. The place is beautiful and unique, yes. But as you have seen, now stormed by the maddened crowd. It's beautiful when no one is around, at dusk and dawn, as you have been able to appreciate. Great and beautiful video. Thank you.
Thanks for all this information. It’s sad to see what it has become, but luckily there is still lots of beauty to be appreciated 🙏🏼 your right, dusk and dawn is the best time!
"Funny" is that the Local Government payed the national TV broadcaster for this fiction in order to boost the popularity of the place, considerated too much unknown
Hey guys, beautiful video and thanks for the info 🙏🏻 we were planning to go there but we don’t have that extra cash and we thought it was free to get that magic pic we all look for 😊
I LOVE all your vlogs/videos etc! Stupid question please?! So the only charge is for walking onto the small jetty (boat house area), the rest of it has no charge? Heading there next spring (May) with my daughter, so getting all the information in order to get more out of our time there. Thank you!!
Thanks so much! Hope they are useful for you! Yes so the rest of the lago di braies area is free to walk around :) (apart from the car park) then you can pay to use the boats if you wish.
Hi.. Wanted to ask.. Is Drone allowed in Lago Di braies ? I saw some footage in your video.. Also I am planning to go in September last week.. When would you recommend to go.. Morning or Evening ? Planning to do Sorapis and Braise in 1 day.. Thanks
Hey! That’s so exciting, you will love it there we have no doubt 😄we visited in July/august and so understandably peak time there! Still a beautiful spot!
Has anyone been here in 2022, and if so, can you tell me if it's still this busy during summer season? I was planning on going here this year but if it's seriously this busy I think I'll pass. Plenty of gorgeous locations in the Dolomites and the rest of the Italian Alps.
You guys should have walked around the lake. Obviously the part where the path starts and restaurants locate are crowded. You can walk around the lake (3,2km path) and you will have plenty of room to enjoy the beautiful water and view of mountains.
Good on the owners for making some money on the best spot for a photo. This place has to be maintained, kept clean, etc and there's no easier way to ruin a place like this than tourists.
Not sure if this has changed, but it was okay to fly the drone. As always be respectful and ensure you follow all the rules and laws when flying drones in public.
I am watching the environs while you walk and there are so many other frames of this beautiful lake to be captured. Everything is so chiché and it’s all about ‘that shot’ these days. It’s really sad
Here’s the thing: it’s okay for other people to enjoy it. With nearly any gorgeous spot on the planet, especially in the social media run society, there are going to be people. If you don’t want to see people, don’t go to gorgeous places you found on social media. Also crazy crowds can be frustrating, but in the video, I didn’t see any crowds that were out of the ordinary. Be thankful that you got a lovely vacation that a lot of other people couldn’t afford. It’s okay to give your honest opinion but this felt a bit entitled, complaining just because there are other people present
It's crazy to me to see bodies of water that aren't encrusted by houses at every inch around the lake. In the U.S. every body of water big or small, clear water or the dirtiest scummy brown pond you've ever seen, will have houses jammed in on top of each other. You could drive around the entire body of water and not catch a glimpse. Really makes me hate the water rights we no longer have here.
Because of its beauty, it is popularization of it is inevitable. It is ironic that you both seemed a little perturbed by the amount of people at the lake; everyone who goes there (who are not locals), like yourselves, contribute to the number of people and parked vehicles on the premises. Thanks for the insight on the 150 Euro fee for private shoots.
So don't take the Instagram shot. Enjoy the lake for the lake. And take other beautiful shots and videos. Like you have actually done. You have your memory!!! ( and all the Instagram shots u see online)
I have noticed watching a few Europe related vlogs from 2020. So many travelers unmask themselves and are in close proximity to strangers while waiting in a line for a tourist spot or photograph etc. What is really going on in Europe ?
I love how much emphasis you put on how many people are there at what time in this series. we also like to stay away from crowds so that is super helpful.
Thanks so much! Yes it is definitely something we get asked a lot and so wanted to try and be thorough for other people too! :)

I had the same experience regarding California.
Thoroughly enjoyed this Vlog guys, had no idea Lago Di Braies gets this busy, and during Covid! Also, never knew instagrammers paid €150 for private access on the boat house! 😳
Aw thanks so much for watching! Yeah crazy about Lago Di Braies hey!! Honestly means so much for your comment. Love your IG page! 🙏🏼
A bit confused about about private photoshot… if i fly my drone from the boat or take photos, they still charge 150€? Thanks mate

Jo so ein scheiß
U were only at lake? U can also climb on the top and Its awesome i want go back there! My favorite place! ♥️

Fantastic! Its a beautiful place that's for sure. We would love to visit Canada!
It would help to know what time of year you were there. If you go peak season... then yeah it's going to be crowded. But how is slightly off-season?

@@TwosomeTravellers. Thank you!
Hello! May i know which date u came to this lake?
Of course! We visited at the end of July :)
Was this shot in august ? Cause it gets reeealy crowded in italy during the holydays
Hi.. Wanted to ask.. Is Drone allowed in Lago Di braies ? I saw some footage in your video..
Also I am planning to go in September last week.. When would you recommend to go.. Morning or Evening ? Planning to do Sorapis and Braise in 1 day..
Thanks
Thanks for showing the "behind the scenes" version of this iconic place! Just curious, what time of year were you visiting?
Hey! That’s so exciting, you will love it there we have no doubt 😄we visited in July/august and so understandably peak time there! Still a beautiful spot!

Hey guys! Thanks for your tips. Is it legal to fly a drone up there? Going to visit Lago di Braies in August
Hi! What date was that?
Great insight, thank you.
No worries at all! 😃
Hi, which parking did you stay on?
There is parking right next to Lago di braies, 3 big parking lots, you can't miss it
There are two beautiful lakes in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Tarvisio. The name is "laghi di Fusine". Most beautiful of Braies!
I was there five years ago in spring.
Just me my wife an dog. In a time Insta didnt know the lake
Did you have drone permit to fly over the lake? It's a no-fly zone there...
Laws may have changed since we last visited 🙏🏼
what backpack do you have, I like it
You guys should have walked around the lake.
Obviously the part where the path starts and restaurants locate are crowded.
You can walk around the lake (3,2km path) and you will have plenty of room to enjoy the beautiful water and view of mountains.
We took a walk around the lake, beautiful, still busy but to be expected during peak season 😄

Is drone photography allowed there?
Not sure if this has changed, but it was okay to fly the drone. As always be respectful and ensure you follow all the rules and laws when flying drones in public.
Of course there is more people wishing to see the lake as much as you
Is this place have internet connection?
I honestly cannot remember sorry. I think in certain areas maybe
150 euro... Jees, that's just crazy!
It's a tad expensive!! haha
I am watching the environs while you walk and there are so many other frames of this beautiful lake to be captured. Everything is so chiché and it’s all about ‘that shot’ these days. It’s really sad
Couldn’t agree more!
Same everywhere guys.
informative....& like it...
I prefer Lake Louse in Canada to this, 10 times over.
We would just love to visit Canada, it is so high on our bucketlist to see the beautiful Country!
So wird wearing mask in the middle of nature. I know it was a must

And its the fault of you "influencers" that this beautiful place gets destroyed
We were there 3 years ago and didnt pay a single penny for taking pictures from the boat house.. Guess we were lucky
Super lucky! I think because it’s so busy and they know people want a picture on the boat house they have capitalised on it!
It's crazy to me to see bodies of water that aren't encrusted by houses at every inch around the lake. Wow! That's crazy. There are Manny beautiful lakes in Italy with not a single house in sight, it sounds like you would love it! :)
Honestly kettle calling pot black… everyone is doing what you doing which is visiting
the true name of the lake is Pragser Wildsee - it has never been Italian
cap
Ah shit, there are still salty failed painters in Vienna lol

Well , stop complaining about the crowd, cause u 2 are one of them who wants to visit the lake as well .
We visited before the crowds arrived. There’s a difference 😘
So don't take the Instagram shot. Enjoy the lake for the lake. And take other beautiful shots and videos. Like you have actually done. You have your memory!!! ( and all the Instagram shots u see online)
now it's 400 lol

What's with the old mans hat? Did you forget to give it to your grand dad?
