- Today we decided to discover if the hike to Lake Sorapis is worth the hype it gets across social media. Lake Sorapis has incredibly intense blue water that it nearly looks like photoshopped.
In this video we show you complete guide how to get to Lake Sorapis in Dolomites, North Italy.

🏔 Lake Sorapis, also known as Lago di Sorapis, is an alpine glacier lake located in the Dolomites, North Italy.
The Lake Sorapis has such a blue color due to the presence of finely ground rock particles known as "rock flour" suspended in the glacial meltwater.
The lake's color can change throughout the day and with the seasons.
Lake Sorapis is situated at an elevation of approximately 1,925 meters above sea level
and it’s surrounded by limestone cliffs of the Dolomites Mountains.
Which makes it only accessible by hike or helicopter. Hiking trail leading to the lake is called the "Sorapiss Circuit” and is usually accessible from late spring to early autumn.
Lake Sorapis is protected Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site Area. If you decide to visit please follow Leave No Trace principles & respect the environment.

Dolomites are beautiful all year round. When to go there it depends if you want hiking, skiing or just driving through & staring. In this case October is the best month - autumn colors, snow free roads and not crowded. Nice presentation of the area - informative and relaxing 🖐

Thank you for sharing. i am going there next month as well. it helps me. As i knew, it takes 1hr 40 mins to get there. It depends on the personal condition, is it right?
hi there, yes it really depends. you can definitely do it under 2 hours up to Lago di Sorapis from Passo Tre Crocci if it's not slippery and you are in good physical condition. you don't need so much resting breaks as there are just two short segments that are steep.
