Welcome to another book recommendations video~ Here are my 8 favourite books of 2022 so far! 📖 We have a whole bunch of wonderful fantasy, contemporary and historical fiction here. I love getting to film these favourite books videos. They're literally just an excuse to talk about all of my five star books and the best books I've read, which I love the most 😂

I've read most of GGM's books and have to say Love in the Time of Cholera remains my favorite. A Hundred Years of Solitude is wonderful, but I was so glad when Love was recommended to me. There are so many lines and scenes in that book that ring so true in life for me.
I’ve also had about 8 favorites so far! Some are I’ll Give You The Sun, The Starless Sea, and The House in the Cerulean Sea 😊❤️

I read (and loved) The Seven and a Half Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, and goodreads criticized it for "ripping off" The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but man, they do not sound like they have anything in common other than the number seven and a person named Evelyn.
Having read both, your analysis is correct. They didn’t feel similar to me at all beyond the name and number 🤷♀️
I love Marquez's books, They are so magical!
While reading One hundred years of solitude I also needed to write down the family tree not to get confused)

Christy! I finished ‘The House in the Cerulean Sea’ last night. I cried at the end. I read this book because you recommended it. I loved it so much. It was so funny and heart warming. Thank you for recommending it! It is quite different from the books I am usually drawn to, so I probably wouldn’t have picked it up on my own accord, but I am so glad I did. 🙂💕

It makes me happy to see people loving The Goldfinch because I think it's underappreciated. You reminded me to finally pick up She Who Becames the Sun. That cover is beautiful though!

Dear Christy, I have just finished reading the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, it was a beautiful and captivating story and I enjoyed every minute of it. I choose The Goldfinch as my next read. It is my 3rd time reading a book completely in English, but obviously this one is twice the size of other two books. I hope I will complete it within the 10 days.
Your videos always get me so excited to go read again if I’m in a slump! Running to put all of these recommendations on my TBR right now :)

I have the goldfinch on my tbr (I liked the movie!!) Also have Evelyn Hugo on my tbr, so will get to those two first 😊
One Hundred Years of Solitude is my all-time favourite classic!! Honestly, nothing could top that book yet, not in the genre of fiction anyway ♥️♥️♥️

I am currently reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I have been completely going through it, I think I'm at around 80% and yesterday I had to make myself take a break because I was too immersed in it 😅I think I am slightly in love with Evelyn, this feels like a bigger than life book. Thank you for recommending it!

I highly recommend The Way Past Winter by Kiran Millwood Hargrave!! It's a beautiful, wintry story that affected me in a similar way to what you described with Julia and the Shark (which I've been eager to read since your vlog for it, still waiting for it to be published in the U.S. and become available at my library, but I may need to cave and order it online after your rave review!)
Good reads, jot down a few :) right now I'm quickly reading the sandman by Neil Gaiman because it's coming to Netflix soon (aaah :D)

I think it's interesting that you felt like Evelyn Hugo wanted to feel loved. My perception of her is way harsher. I think her relationship with love and sex was so messed up that everything she did was so calculated. In my opinion she is a proper narcissist. Mostly only seeing her perspective.
The 7HOEH is my least favorite book I've read this year. The writing style was just bad.
Straight after I started Killing Commendatore by Murakami and everything in me is relieved to finally read beautiful lines with depth again.
She who became the sun is still on my TBR list.
