- In this action packed, predator fishing episode, I target and catch some big pike in winter from a popular carp lake. I explain the best baits, fishing tackle and rigs for catching these awesome, aggressive fish. Enjoy
Both on trout think I’m late for the competition. Top video glad I stumbled across this at 3am . Now I want to go pike fishing
Trout was the bait.... its up there with my favourite baits along with smelt and pollen. Loving the videos, great work.
Pollen ?
@@montellwilliams811 it's a coarse fish found in vast lough neagh in Belfast. Amazing deadbaits. Naturally buoyant. Can be bought in most tackle shops
@@bencarvosso3691 thanks for your reply and information 👍
Enjoyed your video I'm a keen piker can't believe this is the final first of your videos I've watched but it won't be the last. Trout got your first 2 pike 👍
Cheers buddy
thoroughly enjoyed this
It’s the rainbow trout doing the business. Great video keep them coming
Rainbow trout nice one Rich frazzles for the win 😁👌
Trout, and great video mate, shame i couldnt get more pike fishing in this winter. Best fishing in my opinion, but catfish are a close second. If anyones in the kent area, theres a lake called greenacres is biddenden. Big pike, catfish and carp all in 1 lake.
Rainbow Trout!
Cracking video as always, lovely crocs!
Nice videos rich I love the way you get excited when you catch the answer for the competition is trout tight lines mate
Cheers mate, yeah I always get too excited 👍
Trout, never used it myself but will maybe look into giving them a try next winter🎣👌
I took two things away from this video when I saw it the first time. Trout as a bait and pre baiting. Trout has its day and pre baiting is amazing. Night before, after the feeding window, pop a few chops in and the same at the start of the session the following morning. Winner.
Had three doubles in two and a half hours last weekend, last session of the season for me. Happy days.
Thabks for the tips, definitely given me some confidence!
Trout. Just started on the pike this year. Cracking video

Wish I had seen this before last week when I was in Norfolk broads fishing for pike. Got a few the biggest 12lb, uploaded a really short vid to You Tube if interested. But I have loads of trout in my freezer I Caught a fews weeks ago. I should have taken them for bait!! Have subbed!
Cheers buddy
@@all-roundanglerwithrichwil6161 Hi Rich, what rods were you using in episode 9 Big Pike Fishing please?.
Trout was the bait great angling
Trout was the bait used good catches mate
Great video I'll be watching more👍 what net was you using in the video?
Fox predator net, thanks buddy
Norfolk has been missing something perhaps we have found the new John Wilson
Bait was trout. Looking forward to this year's winter pike campaign
Trout . Hell of a job.
Trout! And I must admit, I’ve never used them.
You make it look easy.
im not a fisherman myself but ive witnessed several people catching pike over the years and compared to them you seem to be extremely comfortable stroking and having your hands right next to their mouth . the guys ive seen catch them all seem very weary of those teeth. but also when seeing people put them back they dont seem to take no where near as much care as you do when replacing hence you really take the time to let them catch their breath before you ever so gently ease the fish back into the water. most people ive seen after the photo,s taken posing etc they seem to rush putting it back and sometimes almost throwing the fish back in, so credit to you if they seemingly arnt gentle enuf ?
Trout, never go without them.
Yes mate
Rainbow trout
Hi! What rod you use?
Caught on a trout, great vids Rich 🎣🎣
You caught your fish on a rainbow trout
pollen my fav bait by far has caught most of my twenties and thirties , just a bit of advice while using braid and its my pet hate hanging trebles through inner eyes on rods it only takes one scrape on the inner eye and braid will cut off like a knife through butter leaving a poor pike swimming about with your tackle and braid resulting in death just a point to note but great footage hope you don't take offence to this but a tip for all out there !!!
Everyone so shocked about using the trout? i've sworn by them for years most pike fry & jack pike probably survive on small trout and minnows, so it makes perfect sense.
Live bait fishing is no more in Scotland, but when it was legal, my absolute favourite live bait was stone loach followed closely by small trout - i've had many a high double on stone loach, pike love them, but you have to get the loach yourself from a stream with a net.
We have a River and Loch system in the Highlands that have some hefty Pike, they definitely like trout, I take pike on "flies" made to look like water voles, there are also a large amount of trout many of which carry pike inflicted war wounds , the trout, even the small ones that have wounds also have a tendency to be full of toads , I had a 1 and 1/2 pound trout which when gutted was only 3/4 of a pound, the rest of the weight were sizeable toads in various states of digestion. I am wondering if the trout ingest the toads to use the highly concentrated bad taste as a defence mechanism, which must emanate from them , when attacked, to deter pike from eating them. I can also confirm the trout that eat toads do not have palatable flesh for human consumption the toad "poison" permeates and taints the taste, of what are pink fleshed tasty looking trout. I return them all now if they have a gut with toad consumption obvious as they carry an obviously swollen belly.
Great stuff. Thanks for sharing. Am I too late for the competition? Trout :-)
Trout. First time watching the channel very enjoyable to watch
trout, great video with great content, would like to see my vids fishing for big perch.
Another great video. The answer is Rainbow Trout. Thanks.
Great video, think you are a nice fishing mate.
Maybe one tiny tip. First make up the non float rod, and than the floater rod. I learned cause when i once put the floater in, was making up the 2nd rod, and when it was ready, my floater was long gone already haha. Since than if first do the one with my optonic. When that hits while i am making up the floater rod, i hear it go of.
Cheers 🎣🍻
Cheers mate
Trout . Really enjoy your explaining why you use yr tackle and methods in all yr videos .thank you

Hi Rich, its a Trout.
At some stage I'd like to see your paternoster rig for pike for both rivers and lakes. I'm very interested to learn how a paternoster works on a lake due to no flow!?!
Regards James.

Great watch again rich, what tc were the fox rods you used in this video mate?
Cheers mate, they’re 3.5 I believe. Awesome rods 👍
Trout :) great video once again rich 🎣🎣
Funny how fishing programme backing tracks have changed over the years:
Growin up watchin matt hayes, wilson, mick brown and bobb nudd, there backing music was like your next door neighbors nerd son, just pressed demo on his yamaha keyboard.
Now its like the intro to the pride of britain awards and "little freddie's just come out on his NHS crutches to collect his award" style music.
Rainbow Trout - lovely video, thx
Well done Rich. Rainbow Trout seemed to be the way forward that day. 🎣
Trout brilliant vid mate
