Don't forget to check out this week's YPC bank UK where we find out who's done enough to get through to the final! Wish me luck! It will be live at 6pm today! Here in the link - ua-cam.com/video/5EJxJyesJ9I/v-deo.html
Should you not have put that pike out of its misery it looked extremely skinny and will likely die of starvation over the next 2 to 3 weeks horrible way to go.
Well done mate, so many noobs are taking up pike fishing, and your leading from the front! For us to keep our pike safe, it needs people like you taking these noobs (that are going to happen anyway) in the right direction 👍
@@BIGM-gg9ln What, and traumatise the bollocks out of 'em ? Aye, im sure they're happy to be dragged out of their gaff on a hook. Don't talk shite, mush. That's gonna prolong their lives immeasurably, surely ? I'm anti gobshite, not anti fishing; per se.
@blackbob3358 you are speaking the truth. I love fishing, but I'm not delusional. It does zero good for each fish to haul them up out of their environment where most can only breathe, handle, dehook, and return. Never mind the ones who get damaged/killed due to the process. It's actually rather cruel. Glad to know I'm not the only one to admit it.

What a great capture. Well done. She was a catch of a lifetime on some canals 👏👏👏 ahh, but I congratulated you too soon. That poor last pike. What a shame for it. I'm just glad that you were there to help it. Well done to you for that.
When I caught my biggest, after 50 years of chasing them, I was so pleased, as are you. Great videos, super impetuous to get me back at them, even at 71 yrs of age. Peace and goodwill
Thanks ❤👍 congrats on smashing up your group, looking forward to the final ! I’d love to watch a Vlog of you and Geroge, going on a remote adventure, fishing, together . The positivity of Geroge, and his contagious excitement would be an amazing video❤🎉🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣 Give yourself a rest, you don’t wanna do any long-term damage to that arm !!!
Chris - really big fan of your work. Mate, I've fished through many injuries and illnesses and know how it feels when you just want to get out on the bank; I can also imagine the pressure you feel as one of the most consistent YT fishing creators; but PLEASE take that bent back pike as a sign from the fishing gods that you really should be taking it easy! Your fans and audience aren't going anywhere but you could do so much harm fishing on when that break is in the process of its alignment and healing. It was tough seeing you in pain too bro!
I was wincing every time you jarred your elbow that's going above and beyond for your sport, loving the use of double hooks and what a fabulous canal pike. Hope your arm gets better soon take it easy.
Congratulations for this amazing giant and thumbs up for your respectful approach. Fish with spinal deformity like the one you have caught are actually quite common, some of them are congenital, not caused by human handling. I have seen quite a number of perches with similar twisted spine that survive for years. Wish you a speedy recovery, don’t force too much on your elbow!
Congrats on the beast croc! Hope your elbow gets better soon. That last fish was in a poor state and well done on educating maybe new anglers to be careful with their catch. I remember not too long after i started fishing i lost my disgorger and though 'meh, i wont need it' sods law i caught a chub deep hooked of about 2lb. I tried forcing various things down its throat to try to unhook it even though i couldnt see the hook and instead of just cutting the line, i pulled it hard and pulled its stomach and its teeth out all at the same time with blood pissing out of everywhere. It made me feel so ashamed and to this day (29 years later) i cringe about how i treated that fish because I didnt know what i was doing and didnt have the right equipment. Now i always have multiple spare disgorgers of different sizes, wire cutters, scissors, forceps and if for some reason i've lost one, i dont go fishing. We owe it to our catch to treat them as well as we can.
Mate I love the determination from you but it wouldn’t hurt to have a break whilst you recover and maybe upload old vids or just montages I’m sure people would understand.
Totally agree Ethan, I'm not sure on the extent of Chris' injury, but pushing too hard will both lengthen recovery time and make incomplete longterm recovery more likely.
Congratulations buddy, only a handful of people have ever had a twenty plus canal pike, let alone a 25, an amazing early Xmas present and a bit of Karma after your elbow break. Well done, enjoy the feeling.
Mate, you probably shouldn't have been fishing with that injury but damn, that was an awesome session. Real shame about the pike at the end but you did your best and that's all anyone can ask. Shame I can't make any videos about my favourite areas to fish. The locals would absolutely have my guts for garters. Great video dude. Keep up the good work but make sure you rest that elbow!
After a lifetime of chasing the biggest bass I can I have switched gears and discovered a new found love of pike. While bass fishing I would catch pike on occasion, but never directly targeted them. Their strength and aggression is awe-inspiring. Nice job on landing some beautiful fish.
That’s just jaw dropping. Just to think it could hit 30lb in a year or two. Great video. I’ll have to seek out your grass carp vid, now! Well done Chris.
What an absolutely cracking pike Chris, well done and well deserved mate. Mint condition too! Keep the videos coming, always a pleasure to watch, ans so inspiring.👍🎣🎣🎣

Great video as always Chris. Sorry to hear about your elbow. I broke my radial head in a climbing accident in my mid twenties. It took over a year to really recover but left me with no pronation in my left arm. Doesn’t really impact my fishing but I urge you not to unduly stress it by lifting big pike ! and take it easy with it generally.
Aww Chris 😮 what a beauty I’m delighted for you pal I had to stop the vid to put my comment in as that was an absolute stunner & with a hammy elbow 😂 well done a great early Christmas present & what a present 👌🏼 hope you recover soon keep bringing these great vids I always look forward to seeing your latest vids Have a lovely Christmas pal ✌🏼💙🙏🏼👍🏼🏴
Another cracking episode, congratulations Chris on the PB what a stunning fish, it was awful to see what damage mishandling a fish had done to your second fish, very sad. Also, I think you will do just fine in the YPC UK final. You need to get yourself up to Scotland for a bash at the big Pike up here.
I’ve watched only 2 of your videos so far and in both you’ve captured lightning in a bottle. First was pike on a pike on a pike. And this one-PB pike and that poor pike that was rescued by you. Amazing work mate!
Such a high followed by such a low. Congrats on the new PB, chris. What a specimen pike for canal and with a broken elbow 😮 It's so sad to see pike shortly after.

Cracking videos, just started watching. Been pike fishing for over 30 years. It's a great experience to land a nice 20lb+. Real shame about the injured pike. Given it's condition, it might have been kinder to dispatch it. It had obviously lost an awful lot of weight. You're probably right about it being dropped. I'll never forget John Wilson dropping fish. He dropped a very large 20+ on to the gunwale of his boat. Makes me cringe just thinking about it. An absolute must when piking are multiple sets of forceps, wire cutters, disgorgers, gloves if you need them, a good net and the all important un-hooking mat. How to hold a big fish is so important. A strong grip on the jaw and a supporting hand mid way is a must. Hold the pike over the unhooking mat and don't stand up for the photo. My first 20+ was in 1985 in Chichester. 24lb 12oz. Years later at the gravel pits near Aldermaston, I landed a 32lb 04oz. Both ignored baits on rods fit for purpose. I caught both on very inadequate rods and light line.
Chris you really are an inspiration, all anglers should follow your ethos, congrats on your pb maneater ,would it have been kinder on this one occasion to put the injured pike out of its misery as it obviously wasn't feeding well enough ??

well done mate congrats on the beast and the education on handling anything that can help people look after the fish is a plus it amazes me how fish can survive with injuries I've caught completely blind pike in the past caught that fish twice you could tell it had some age to it large head small skinny body but was doing well and one that had some sort of back injury was only small but boomerang shaped was still feeding and fought the same as a healthy fish.

No problem Chris I broke my ankle jumping over a fence too get to a fishing spot in June, tightened my boot up, fished for 2 hours no fish next day A&E for 5 hours.
Great vid as always Chris, really like the editing on this one. Felt a bit like a fishing documentary/film . Anyway congrats on the fish and hope your arm gets better quickly
First class stuff as always 👏🏻 As others have said though, you should be resting that elbow. You'll be no good if you can't fish at all in a couple of years time!
Wow it's a monster! 😲
Congratulations Chris 👏
Friendships from France!
Clonker! Well done. All the best with the elbow!!
The more I watch your videos the more I admire u as an angler...what a fish and hats off to u for trying to save that unfortunate pike...do u do tutorials Chris ?
Absolutely brilliant! Really enjoy your videos and this was no exception. Congratulations on the pb! Such a shame about that other pike. Bad fish handling is a death nail...hope your elbow is healing too!👍
Awesome fish bro, congrats on the pb !
Well done mate great video.
But get that elbow rested yeah. Maybe a bit of roach fishing for a few weeks?
Great video, and congratulations on the capture of that monster pike.
well done mate congrats on the beast and the education on handling anything that can help people look after the fish is a plus it amazes me how fish can survive with injuries I've caught completely blind pike in the past caught that fish twice you could tell it had some age to it large head small skinny body but was doing well and one that had some sort of back injury was only small but boomerang shaped was still feeding and fought the same as a healthy fish.
Mega pike mate well done.and with a dodgy arm!! Shame about the other pike that's got a broken back!
Stunning mate what a fish no excuse for anybody not going fishing
