I haven't fished for esox for years because I got into fly fishing which I have done for the last 20 years or so, I had a stroke a few years ago but I'm getting back to course fishing, I had some lovely dace at the start of the year then I moved house to be with someone from my past, but I have been trying to remember all the fishing I have done in the past & I remember all the pike fishing I did on the thames & the Severn, I had pike upto 16lb from the thames & my biggest pike which weighed in at 18lb 5oz from the Severn & I have decided I must get out & do some pike fishing so thanks alot 😊

Danny - excellent content as usual!
Think when you are unhooking Pike, you would have to be 'blind' to miss any other hooks / traces / terminal tackle inside their mouths as when they open up, Jack or not, it's like a cavern!
Well done for freeing that Pike from the maggot rig.
Had a jack take a lure a couple of years ago but couldn't move it? - turned out it had taken a carp rig and was tethered to a part sunken branch. Between my 40lb braid and part wading in (didn't have waders on, but what the heck, some wet legs!), managed to free a 4lb pike from both my lure and the branch she was tethered to - lovely to see her swim away and go back to what she does best...
