For those of you who are concerned about them being in a cage, your concerns are not misplaced, but BCR is a licensed sanctuary where they rescue cats who would have no chance of survival in the wild give them a home. They also have rehabilitation facilities for those who are eligible. The cats are given "enrichment" (unique toys made by the staff) often so they don't get bored, and they regularly get to go on vacation to a much larger enclosure for a while. Also their regular enclosures are many many times larger than the required specifications from the state. They receive the best vet care possible, and if two cats really seem to like each other they introduce them. Zabu (the white tiger) and Cameron (the lion) grew up together and were rescued together, and have been best friends their whole lives so they get to live together. Also BCR doesn't condone breeding big cats, so they make it impossible to do that.
Zabu was the 1st cat I fell in love with at BCR. I miss her 😔
Watching the lion protect its chicken was crazy, I can’t imagine the power these cats have they are insanely strong.

I still see the sand cat almost like a normal cat, even though it's different in many ways, and i find it adorable in it's enclosure.

I have never seen a Lion and tiger play together
What would be best is that they are protected in the wild. We need to all find ways to support preserving and protecting them in the wild. Laws and enforcement of laws regarding poaching needs to be stronger.

Thak You! I think what makes the difference is that they not only have excellent quality food and medical care but they also have nice spacious enclosures and regular enrichment provided which breaks up the boredom or captive life.

The thing that I adore about your videos is how much they make me respect my own house cats more. They're really remarkable animals, and while people may want to own big cats and attempt to keep them as 'domestic' pets, they don't realize how awesome small, normal house cats are. I keep seeing my house cat's behavior in the actions of these big cats. But my kitty, Mitten, can't kill me very easily. ;) Thanks so much for posting these!!

It's so wonderful to see that they have such a beautiful home! I know we'd all, ideally like to see them in their natural environments, but their environments are being destroyed by humans. These lucky, rescued cats look so happy and healthy - I'm so glad they're being protected and cared for by people who clearly love them. I love cats and I can see so much of my own, small domestic cats in these beautiful and magnificent creatures.
