    Great final look. If possible it'd be nice to see some more vids like this from you and Gabe.

    What a great How-To video. Simple and entertaining. I'm glad he chose to re pin the plug instead of splicing another plug to it. It should prove to be more reliable in the long run. Makes me wish I didn't have such a mistrust of electronics tho. :)

    That is a totally sick set up. Digital speedo is going to look great. Awesome idea to you marked tape! Ride safe bro.

      Thanks - I agree! Unfortunately the fork video may not make the cut - will try to finish that one up soon enough

    Thanks for the video. Those actually look pretty awesome ! BTW, I installed the Analog Speedometer/Tachometer on my Fat Bob (Part Nr 74776-11A). Not sure if it will fit your bike (I think the sporties take a 4" guage) but it apparently has 1.3 billion different color combos because the odo, taco and needles can be different colors and it has every shade of every color in each color category. So it will definitely have the blue that is on those caps.

    • @XXXDeadhead
      @XXXDeadhead  9 років тому

      Yeah, that's the speedo I want for my bike - Gabe doesn't like it though, wants all digital. Love the color options

    I have the flush mount gas cap and gauge you installed here. Recently my gas cap is not turning to pop up as it should. When the cap is on and popped down, I can barely twist the cap to pop it back up. likewise, when screwing the cap on, after securing the cap in place, I push it down and have trouble twisting to lock the cap down in place. Is there a lubricant that I can use to make this twist more freely? I tried WD40 with no success. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Probably a dumb question but what is the left hole for originally? I'm looking at getting a 2016 fort-eight which only has one port on its peanut tank. Would this work on it?

  • @chrisg2k1
    @chrisg2k1 9 років тому +1

    XXXDeadhead what was the point of removing the rear gas tank bolt and raising the tank ? The connector is just under the tank no need to lift am I missing anything ?

    • @XXXDeadhead

    Great vid and Im planning on this install on my Street Bob as well. How tough was it getting the factory gauge popped out of the top of the tank? Did ya just twist and lift it?

  • @charlesmorain6452
    @charlesmorain6452 2 роки тому

    It looks like he's deliberately not showing you the gauge ! Which I think would have been a really big help. I just started watching

    Lmao .. Gabe ... man of few words ... hehe ..
    I doubt I'll ever care for a fuel Gauge .. it's like my spedo .. I never look at Em .. do have a fuel light on the vstar which is nice .. so unlike the buell I don't have to wait till the bike shuts off then switch to reserve .. that was always fun to lol...

  • @BoiseG
    @BoiseG 7 років тому

    Mind telling where you got your bars and front turn signals? Thanks!

  • @kevkevsuperrev
    @kevkevsuperrev 8 років тому

    So..... with the old gauge, just 1/8 turn counterclockwise, and pull up? I accidentally turn it from time to time when I'm buying gas. I never knew how it came out.

    • @XXXDeadhead

    • @Rottensoul978
      @Rottensoul978 9 років тому

      They do, but you'll also have to buy the fuel level sensor. Not sure how much that costs but I'm guessing around 40 bucks.
