Anyone watching, use smaller pieces of tape so the beauty ring itself is centered around the fuel cap. Also…. Look up how those pins retain into connectors. Just jamming a paper clip in and out may result in luck, but it’s very simple if you just UA-cam how to remove connector pins. If you ever want to revert back to stock you’ll have to re-solder new pins back on to the wires. Great video bro
Great video! I have a 2014 Fat Bob and will do the same thing. On another note, how do you install footboards onto a Street Bob? I'm certain that the frames are the same and already have the mounting gussets welded to the frame. Thanks!
I used HD floorboards part number 50500247. They are for the Dyna switchback but should work with any Dyna. The only limitation would be if your exhaust covers the mid -control mounting points. You put 2004 model year Fat Bob but I think you mean 2014.
@@MotoNorseman Thanks! Yeah, I did mean 2014, thanks for catching it! I've been wanting to do this for a long time. New bikes are way too expensive, so it's better to accessorize your bike.
Jason P It’s still stuck on there really good. That said, I don’t ride it a lot and it’s parked in the garage most of the time. I’m not a huge fan of the plastic but there isn’t really an alternative if you want flush mount. Thanks for watching!
11/22 I just installed this and it was very easy Unfortunately the led indicator shows I am low and my low range indicator is on. I have wired and retired with same results Any idea what I may have done wrong
I assume it was reading correctly before? Depending on the age of the bike, the fuel tank sender could be stuck. Make sure the tank is full and then ride around. Also, pull the main fuse and put it back in.
The analog has the needle that gives a more accurate reading as the fuel gets below that 1/4 mark. Otherwise I think it reads full, 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 pretty accurately.
Thanks, I am thinking about doing this to '17 FXDLS, but why disconnect the battery? if you keep ignition off, you should have no "juice" going through any Fuel gage circuitry.. cheers
75027-08D is the part number according to the Harley website. You can find it at www.surdyke.com/PartsMain.aspx?PartNumber=75027-08D&SubCatID=&CatID=&Name=&CatName=
Never liked those flush mount caps.Hard to turn the center cap a turn to get it to pop up so you can unscrew it when your hands are sweaty.Nothing to grab.
My analog fuel gauge consistently shows lower fuel than is actually in the bike. Did you have that problem before the switch, and if so, is the new one any more accurate?
There Must be a more advanced tool than a paper clip for removing wire connectors. in all my years of motorcycle and auto work, i've never been able to remove them. Alway end up cutting and splicing the wires. 😡

Thank you for posting the part number. I wasn't finding anything to fit my dyna until I came across your video!
HI Chris, I am about to install these parts (flush fuel fill/digital gage to my '17 FXDLS, I assume, it's very like what you have shown.. Thank you
Like your tape line up method better then others I’ve seen.

Very nice install guide on the flush mount furl kit...I'm getting ready to install on my 2018 Road King Special...thanks for sharing
Hey good video. How has the gas cap "ring" with adhesive back lasted? Has it tried peeling up since you installed this?

JuanderBoyMusic Thank you!
Great job on the install footage and details. Subbed :)
Thanks for the post! I’ve got a 2015 Dyna Streetbob. Is there a difference between the part #75327-09D and 75327-09C?
It looks like the C part number might be a part number used by Intermountain Harley in Utah? I think they’re the same item. But not 100% certain.
Moto Norseman thank you!
Its just the newest version
Whould you say this gauge is more, the same or less accurate as the original analoge gauge?
The analog has the needle that gives a more accurate reading as the fuel gets below that 1/4 mark. Otherwise I think it reads full, 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 pretty accurately.
Can you tell what brand and model bars you have on your bike? I am guessing you were able to use stock wires and cables? Looks great.
Johnny No The bars are JP Cycle branded bars. 14”. Same wires, new cables.
Do you know what part nunber for a 2007 in black please i cant find it anywhhere
I think they only have the chrome version for the older Dynas. I’m not sure what the difference is between the older and newer versions.
Hey do anyone know if you just the buy the ”cover-glass” for this item ?
great video!!!! just bought my wide glide few weeks ago and found this video very helpul, how has the gas cap and fuel gauge been holding up?
Scott Ortega Thanks for watching! The gas cap and fuel gauge both still look and operate like they’re new.

I need one of these for my fat boy 2011 low. Could you send the link where u got these?

Thanks for the video. This helped me a lot. Well put together video , great youtuber ! :)
Thank you!
Way to go Chris. Great install video!
Thanks for this video. Just what I needed to figure out for my Fat Bob.
Good Video . Can I assume that your bike had a fuel gauge before and you just wanted a flush mount gauge?
That’s correct. Just wanted the flush mount.
Never liked those flush mount caps.Hard to turn the center cap a turn to get it to pop up so you can unscrew it when your hands are sweaty.Nothing to grab.
I agree. And it feels like cheap plastic.
Good video.
Thank you very much.
Greetings from Germany.
Thank you!
I'm trying to find out if one will work with a 2003 fatboy carburetor
Andrew Castaneda works on my 2001 softail
They look good on it's on but silver blends better with denim in my opinion.
I wish they would have has a matte black.
Dude sounds exactly like Tom Green
YES!
Dont this fuel gauge have sender?
The sender is inside the tank.
@@MotoNorseman Thank you kind Sir.
Why wont these work on a 2006 street bob? The tanks are the same?
I'm not exactly sure but Harley part 62910-06C fits the 06 but it's chrome.
@@MotoNorseman thanks!
Anyone know why this will not fit a 2008 Harley-Davidson fxdl ?
Very nice but for me is hard to justify spending $180 on them. Sucks there doesn't seem like there's much else out there.
My analog fuel gauge consistently shows lower fuel than is actually in the bike. Did you have that problem before the switch, and if so, is the new one any more accurate?
I never really noticed but I think that may be on purpose so you fill up before you run out of fuel.
how much is that kit?
$170 from www.surdyke.com ($210 from the Harley website)
Is there a chrome version of this, would be far easier to read than the analogue one that comes on the bike.
There is a chrome version on the Harley Website. There are a couple different ones based on the year/model of your harley.
Lmao you gave up Real quick and just cut the wires 🤣
Where'd you get that horn cover?
I got the horn cover from some vendor at some bike fest.

Can anybody help me with the location of the fuse/relay for the fuel gauge?
@@sphinx390220 what’s the year and model?
@@MotoNorseman 2015 streetbob
@@sphinx390220 I think there are three fuses. The main fuse and then two fuses below that. The one on the bottom left should cover the fuel gauge.
