That's the difference between a normal person and an "effed up" one. It's like people with adhd can sleep and rest on ecstasy and speed, whereas non adhd people can't sleep or rest. I definitely think the individuals mental make-up has a lot to do with how they react to certain chemicals.
It is shocking. But I am always amazed when people say smoking makes them lazy and zone out. It effects me much differently making me want to get up and do stuff. 17 years with a man who haven’t married you yet? Cheated on you? Then you killed him? The signs were there and she should have left him go a long time ago. She made herself crazy, now she’ll spend the rest of her days a lone smh
I wonder if she was able to have children? Maybe there were other deeper issues, and that child with the other woman was tangible proof of his infidelity that she could not ignore. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it. I agree. She definitely should have left him years ago. Absolutely premeditated.
@@alexs6770 but if she DID want to 17 years would be heartbreaking, then add cheating which can destroy someone's confidence and mental health. I am personally a woman who has no desire to marry, but I can imagine waiting for something that will never come.
Hi, Adrian and Nero OX. She planned thoroughly. She probably snapped after almost 2 decades of a difficult relationship. No excuse is valid there. You two have a great weekend with loved ones. BTW, it's storming here.
It is absolutely murder. I will say, 90 something percent of domestic violence cases go unreported. As a survivor of DV, I never reported because I was terrified of what he would have done when he gotten out. So I suffered in silence. I did end up telling people when I was finally done and trying to leave. Doesn’t mean you kill the dude tho.
With the callous way that she had his mother over for tea feet from his dead body like it wasn't a thing, I feel like he might have actually been the DV victim. I'm not saying he should have cheated, but I also get that men are often not believed about DV at all. Or maybe there was no DV, she's just a narcissist that cannot accept responsibility for her own actions so she blames in for what he made her do. Even her "apology" had an edge of look what he made me do.

I’m questioning her mental health issues as being not true. She and Nick were horribly incompatible and should’ve separated earlier. I will never understand people staying together under impossible circumstances?
I've seen it often and even when they get mental health help they just want on pills to "numb" themselves without actually seeing a therapist and believe that's getting help
@@Chuck_EL seen it too and experienced much therapy, some doctors even push one right into it for cruel addiction profits and / or having no plan what to do in therapy when it gets too complicated 😤
There's a huge amount of research on the topic, but essentially, in incompatible and abusive relationships, negative self image keeps the relationship together. A person with lots of childhood trauma who feels worthless/unworthy will tolerate extreme abuse from a partner because they believe they don't deserve or won't acheive anything better. Abusers often know this and will feed into it to prevent any kind of mental escape. You should have heard the things my abusive exes said to me. They were the types of things you would expect to hear from an arch nemesis, rather than a man who insists on bedding you as often as possible. It's manipulation of a vulnerable person.
I’ve seen this story before on another channel, and Nick was pretty much a D-canoe. He cheated constantly, with several women at once. She overheard him talking about her on the phone, and he berated her looks, her cooking, and everything else about her. He told the person on the phone that the only reason he was with her was because she’d had a good job and was stable. I’m not condoning the murder in any way, but he really did cut her legs out from under her and hurt her badly. He was also abusive towards her.
I saw you on the show. I yelled "Hey Adrian!" My husband looked confused until he looked up at the TV. We thoroughly enjoyed it as we always enjoy your content.
Would love to see you cover the case of Ricardo Medina Jr., the Power Rangers actor that "accidentally" killed his roommate with a Conan the Barbarian replica sword. Was an interesting case from what I saw, originally Medina was going to be let go as self-defense, but then the police changed their mind based on the injuries. Even so, Medina got a very light sentence, and still got out after only serving half his term due to Covid. I've seen this case mentioned briefly in like "dark secrets of Power Rangers" videos, but no one really has taken the time to look into the case like you do!
That isn't the only "power ranger" in jail . 1 of them killed a couple and stole their boat/yacht . Sold himself as a TV star with funds to buy it . He did 3 episodes as a bit part actor Skyler DeLeon

cold blooded murder and at least she got a serious sentence (for England anyway). her kicking him out and never speaking to him again? justifiable and I would do the same if my wife cheated on me. but murder? pre meditated? and blame it on an alter ego? WOW.
17 years of her life went to complete waste, so you have to have some sympathy. Sher let her emotions, aka rage control her which was a TERRIBLE decision but unfortunately, many people do not have control of their emotions in these stressful situations.
Somebody strange, or she wasted 17 years of his life with her. It was off and on. I don’t feel sympathy for her. I do for him because you know he was killed.
In this case it's impossible to distinguish between the effects of actual domestic abuse and the calculated use of those dynamics as an excuse. The patterns in their relationship actually support each conclusion equally. Her actions were entirely deplorable regardless but it's factually impossible to dismiss the potential source being actual abuse. It's extremely common for no one outside of the domestic relationship to be aware of who the abuser actually is in private context. Extremely common as evidenced by the fact that no one in her life saw who she was in private or alternatively, what she had been living with privately. Be careful when you draw conclusions. People aren't always what they seem. It's likely that neither of these individuals were accurately representing themselves in their social circles. Healthy relationship dynamics have slopes up and down but peaks and valleys indicate unseen problems. The more prevalent the peaks and valleys or the more extreme, the more concern should be raised.

@@JustAnotherBuckyLover your inability to comprehend words and their meanings is not an indictment on my character. Your lack of emotional maturity and codependent nature are not my problem. You can care for someone. and not be "broken" when that relationship ends. The word "broken" means that you are damaged and unable to function. If a breakup has you so shook that you completely fall apart, that wasn't love, it was dependency. If you are so weak as to be dependent on another, you were already broken. I grew up a homeless orphan. I slept in bushes and ate from dumpsters. People stepped over me and payed no mind to the dirty, hungry, pathetic worm of a child that was me. I didn't let it "break" me. I graduated school, joined the military, and made something of myself. So no, I have no "empathy" for someone crying over a stubbed toe. I wonder about their relationship- they had been together on and off for 2 decades yet there were no children. I wonder if she wanted children but had fertility issues and when she discovered he had a child that was the catalyst for her murdering him. He was probably abusive or they were abusive to eachother. Maybe she didn't want to have children with such a loser. But she may also be horrible. I mean horrible people are with eachother all the time
In this case, she is the protagonist in the presentation of this case, as she is the one causing the events to happen. Protagonist doesnt equate to hero, btw. It just means you are the center and perpetuator of events happening to you and around you. Sorry, just bothered me a bit.
So a "Life Sentence" really means about 20 years in the UK? I live in Louisiana where Life means your entire life at hard labor at Angola State Penitentiary. When you die, the bury you there w/ your Inmate number on the headstone, if no one comes for your carcass.
I think most of Europe and also Australia lack whole life sentences. In my country, Sweden, “life” seems to be about 21 years. Norway has 21 years as “life”. We have monsters here whom should never ever be free, but sadly there seems to be no way to keep them locked up for longer.
@@gabriellahedarv1782 I know we have a few in jail that do have actual life sentences, though. They are very few and far between, though. In general, in Sweden, a "life sentence" is about twenty years. In my opinion, that should never ever be called a life sentence.

I enjoy watching/listening to the stories that you do on your channel. I love when I see “the dot” notifying me that there is a new video. I’m a teacher and these stories make me cringe. You just never know until it happens. Thank you for telling these stories in such a calm manner and acknowledging the victim(s).
I don’t agree at all with what she did, don’t mistake what I’m about to say for that. Emotional abuse is so hard to prove. Most that go through it don’t realize they are going through it until their self esteem has been destroyed or they may never realize. Often those that are emotionally abusive come across as quite likable in public and the abused is too embarrassed or brainwashed to speak to anyone about what’s happening. They want the relationship to work so badly that they don’t want anyone to see the abuser in a bad light. They take on the blame for everything. I don’t even know if she was Emotionally Abused, but the way you spoke about it made me uncomfortable.
Or on the flip side, if someone wants to be a victim, they're going to be a victim. They will take any little thing as aggression and blow it out of proportion to satisfy how they see themselves...as victims. They are never wrong, and it is always the other person to blame. They were yelling. it was only because he was saying something that they took as aggressive. They were hitting? it was only because they said something stupid, they didn't like that made them feel horrible in their eyes. In the end when one is dead and one lays out a story of abuse that can't be proven, conveniently, I tend to not believe it. They have every reason to lie and obviously have no qualms about making the other person sound horribly abusive even if they weren't, you know because they killed them.
Can recommend a brutal case from my neck of the woods in Hampshire. The case of Stephen Nicholson is equally messed up and intriguing at the same time.
IDK - he sounds awful. He didn't deserve to die, of course, but anyone who spits on me at any time would spur me to, well what do you think? I'd LEAVE.

She didnt kill him in a crime of passion, she didnt just snap, she planned this and is even doubling down on blaming his own death on him? This womans lack of humanity or conscience is sickening.
I'm relating to this story, it's scary. I'm in a toxic situation with my partner and I don't like him. I just like the idea of having someone. I need some super courage to pack and go😢 It's scary that I relate so much because she was an ordinary person, that felt betrayed. And this is where it ended because she didn't leave him. On and off is bad!!! Always
@dikeledimothiba65 being actually alone is better than being with someone making you feel alone. I hope you're okay and find the route of escape you need.

I definitely think the individuals mental make-up has a lot to do with how they react to certain chemicals.
It is shocking. But I am always amazed when people say smoking makes them lazy and zone out. It effects me much differently making me want to get up and do stuff. @@denisehagwood4542 I have heard that, however this was not psychosis, she planned it all out and even admitted she had been thinking about it for a long long time. That said, it effects everyone differently, as do all drugs and herbs and compounds.

Trauma bonding and co-dependency
Probably co-dependency as another person stated. They were together for almost 20 yrs.
@Coffeehouse Crime so good to see a new video from you Adrian, you’re the best! Thank you
I’ve seen this story before on another channel, and Nick was pretty much a D-canoe.
With CCTV, DNA, phone and internet records it's amazing how anyone thinks they can get away with murder these days

Abuse is more often than not a slow drip that can erode even the strongest stone sturdy sense of self. Strength, whether stone or sense of self, is subject to the slightest pressure if it's sustained.

@@JustAnotherBuckyLover your inability to comprehend words and their meanings is not an indictment on my character. Your lack of emotional maturity and codependent nature are not my problem.
We'll never know the truth. 😞
