This show has become my 3rd most favorite MCU show (followed by Loki &moon knight) & 4th most favorite marvel show (followed by Daredevil, Loki & Moon knight) it's just amazing
Gravik is very quickly becoming one of the most hated villains in the MCU. I didn’t think anyone could rival the High Evolutionary from GOTG Vol 3 in terms of being absolutely despicable, but Gravik is on his way up there. He has now become as truly evil as the Skrulls in the comics. Also I hate what they did to Talos. They make him this incredibly complex character throughout the show but then make him almost naive when it came to Skrulls coexisting among humans. To quote K from Men In Black “People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals”; even if they got someone as beloved and trustworthy to the masses as Captain Marvel, Captain America, or even Spider-Man, they would never truly accept them.
I really feel like y’all feel a certain way towards…. But I’m not gonna even say it. Thanos killed half of the universe just to live alone on a planet. That means half of the people you loved died for that measly shit. But y’all go really hard on the…… and act like they’re just so disgusting and you hate them so much. Neither gravik or the High evolutionary have gotten me to that point.
@@donnyouttheway4091High Evolutionary was torturing animals and was acting like an annoyed child. I couldn't stand him. I kept cheering the for the Guardians to eliminate him asap
@@markcruz359 ehh. I mean I didn’t like him but I’m not acting like this person or anybody else about him. It’s just weird how everybody is talking about those actors/characters. It’s borderline disgusting how people are acting over the top with hatred for those characters. It just makes me feel like it’s other things that has them doing all that extra shit. Thanos literally killed half of a universe just to go be a damn farmer on an empty planet. That trumps both the evolutionary and gravik’s actions. It’s so stupid that it pisses me off still that he did all that for farming. There was no real justification for that.
Yeaa gravik is literally nowhere near as a good as the high evolutionary mainly because his motivation just doesn’t make any sense. Like he wants humans to go to war with each other and thinking they’ll be the rulers of earth by the end of this but if they are gonna nuke each other wtf are they gonna rule exactly? The earth at that point will just be a wasteland. On top of that it doesn’t make sense why their hiding in the first place or even killing innocent people when we’re at a point in the mcu where we’re living among asgaudians and shapeshifting elves. In all honesty the skrulls as a whole feel more of a threat in avengers earths mightiest heroes than they do here.
Jaby I'm trans and that has zero to do with trans at all, the blk dude changed into a white guy and talos turned into a woman aswell, I think her skill level was up to par that's why they used her. Nothing to do with trans women
The show is very high quaslity. What bugs me about it is each episode gets progressively shorter, which is a little frustrating. This episode, not counting credits and the recap is around 30 minutes.
10 years? They started dating back in 1998. There is evidence of history between these two. Rewatch the previous two episodes. They explore just enough of the relationship to be believable.
The skrull being Rhodey had to be after civil war since he basically broke his back and was unconscious. When that happens skrulls revert to their original form.
This guy goes off on some weird tangents. It’s not particularly special for an alien who shape shifts to shapeshift into a man or woman. Gravik changed into a baby girl in the first episode. Also it wasn’t the female skrull who killed Talos, it was Gravik.
Jaby to answer your question at the end. A million Skrulls are already on Earth from after Infinity War, that's half a decade of everything being peaceful between Skrulls and Humans. But, humans don't know Skrulls are among them. And they all don't need to be stored in a fracking pod too, like Varra shared the story, Skrulls could have taken a dying person's place. Gravik is offering living as they did on Skrullos. Some have sided with him, most Skrulls probably don't know about it and some Skrulls were on Talos' side.
She wasn’t a plant from the beginning she just wanting to be with Fury so she assumed someone’s personality she didn’t betray him until after he left the second time
Hot damn, this episode was straight heat! Rhodes is a Skrull confirmed!!!! Talos gets clapped!!!! The scene with Fury and Priscilla/Varra was damn good. I really like the performances between these great actors. Seeing Gravik in 2 stages of being a full-on Super Skrull was dope! That man is a menace! I do wish that this episode wasn't 30-plus minutes, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it. It's a bit of a bummer that "fans" who complained about the MCU razzle dazzle being so prevalent is now getting "bored" with the seriousness of this show. Those people can kick rocks elsewhere. I don't know how the final 2 episodes are going to deliver, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how things wrap up at the end. Fingers cross that we get more Secret Invasion after this instead of a one-off. Can't wait for the penultimate episode!
Technically the first trans character is Loki (as loki is genderfluid which is under the trans umbrella) who was a villain but then became a hero kinda and im unsure, as a trans person myself I think this show is giving more Immigrant then trans stuff. I mean "be in my own skin" could also represent how immigrants are forced to pretend to be like everyone else and hide their culture as to not be seen as outsiders. A lot of immigrants try to erase their connection with their past to blend in more which can cause emotional hurt. If you personally take it as a trans thing then sure, I dont see anything super against that in the writing so I dont mind. Personally I see it much more as kind of an immigrant issue Talos represents the old idea of "Good Immigrant". The idea that if the migrants are just quiet, nice and do what they're told society will accept them. It's an old idea because stuff like racism, sexism and just xenophobia kinda discredits a lot of work. And its essentially to say "pretend you're someone you're not, and everyone will love you" While G'iah represents the idea of "Being oneself" despite the border. As an example, person A crossing to country B doesn't give up their culture. This obviously makes Person A feel a lot more like themselves but People B could be really against it and aggressive. I dont think this show is aiming to answer the morality of immigration, i dont think its gonna come out and say "if migrants and governments do this one thing everything will be okay", I think it'll still be an issue by the end of the series.
We don't even accept refugees from our own planet, because we're selfish assholes like that. Skrulls would be ghettoized immediately, if not actively hunted to extinction. Maybe I need to watch the episode again, but I don't know where y'all are getting that Priscilla lied to Fury about being a skrull. He knew who she was in those diner scenes before they got together; they talked about her not being under the authority of the US government and how that makes it okay for them to canoodle. Skrulls being genderfluid was established all the way back in Captain Marvel, multiple times; it stands to reason their approach to gender would be different to ours. I think if the trans community wants to adopt them, they certainly have standing to do so, but I wouldn't have gone there. Simply because it's shapeshifting aliens, definitionally not the same experience as humans have. But again, if they want to do that, I wouldn't have anything to say against it. Anyway, fun react video y'all. Achara being a delightful softie was the heart that drew me into the channel in the first place, and I love to see her continue.
I mean... We humans don't believe ourselves... We discriminate btw ourselves, there is so much drama still abt caste, race, colour n all that... I can't imagine humans accepting Skrulls anytime soon
Really president arrives to uk and nobody meets him there except rhody? Really? President drives with like 10cars with no air protection, like a gang badguys with two helicopters can kidnap him, then random two cars come to rescue really? Best part nick fury comes with shotgun and defeats everyone, funny thing that people say its great episode
so now the world will know about skrulls because of talos body, and hopefully because of gravik using powers they realize it wasnt the russians otherwise thatd be a little annoying
This man said his wife was his greatest mistake oh damn!!! Super skrull serum bringing folks back to life. It’s the extremis. That poem has a lot of meaning. It was the last one the Author wrote before his death. Rhodes is the only avenger so far that we know is a skrull. In the comics fury hooks up with Val they switch it to him going to see his wife. Pagen was one of the first skrull to invade the avengers in the comics. He could by pass Spider-Man’s spider sense. He mascaraed as elektra in the comics. Talos apologies for bringing his daughter into this war. But she says she does it from her own free will. Fury knows his wife has been instructed to kill him but said he wouldn’t change anything to his life. They mr and mrs smith each other but both miss on purpose as to let the other win. Super skrull are the super soldiers of their species. We have seen this in humans with captain America and hulk. So it’s no different. The first super skrull in the comics copied the powers of the fantastic four. Fury knows that Rhodes is a skrull. But the skrull shows footage of skrull fury shooting hill. They are both black mailing each other
5:17 Hey humans didn't ask to go to war with Skrulls, Maria didn't ask for this, Talos didn't ask for this, and now they both in a box comsumed in the ground. And they both died for nothing.
I reckon it's more about the parallels with the refugee experience rather than a trans allegory... And Fury's "Guess we'll never know" comes across as "If you hadn't been playing me from the start I'd actually KNOW you, but it started as a con so we can't judge how I would have reacted to you as your true self" to me. There's no way to separate the agenda from their relationship at this point, so I don't think he's being cruel or facetious when he says it - it's a genuine response to her question.
My theory is what if it's Soren who's impersonating Rhodey. That would be really messed up and the way Skrhodey talked to Scilla in the church, it felt personal. He/she wants to kill Fury. Maybe Soren is bitter over his lack of commitment in finding them home or something. Just a rogue theory.
Great episode I just wish it was longer. I want to get into the headspace of fury why he left earth after the blip. Not just other people telling us how he feels
Why DIDNT Fury and Captail Marvel help them find a world? Pretty big not to answer that. Also people dont even know Skrulls are here. Why do Skrulls hate them?
It was said before that they were basically met with violence anywhere they went - likely due to the Skrulls’ own violent history and reputation that they kept getting turned away Also humans don’t need to know that a bunch of Skrulls are here for Skrulls to hate us, especially when they want to live in their own skin and knows that the moment they reveal themselves, humans will see them as a threat, as the response that humans have always shown
OMG... Will you stop trying to interject ideology into this where there isn't any?! Why can't it just be that this Skrull was the best one for the job to impersonate Rhoadie?! Skrulls don't have sexual identity issues like humans. THEY'RE NOT HUMAN. 🙄🙄🙄 So annoying.
I love getting LGBT content (mostly because I grew up without any and up until the past 5 years I didn't get anything that I actually enjoyed with very few exceptions), but I didn't get the feel of a "trans allegory" with Secret Invasion (I don't mind it though). I think out of all Marvel, the X-Men are the closest to an LGBT allegory (while at the same time having a pro-civil rights origin, but it was adapted over the years to cover other forms of discrimination). Anyway, I can't wait for the final 2 episodes of this show, I'm loving it so far. I love comedy shows/movies from the MCU, but I also like that they took a darker / more serious route with this one (which was to be expected). And I'm assuming one of my favourite characters isn't gonna pop up (because the rumours haven't become true, so far), but I'm still liking the show.
"I need to speak to Gravik." "Yeah, well, you're talking to me." "What Gravik needs, what Gravik doesn't need... I'm the one telling you to kill Fury." I don't think anyone in the U.S. Government or Gravik's team know that Fury was "fired." Raava is playing her own game.
Rhodes Skrull is a female. I need answers as to who that is, because whomever she is, she has a serious vendetta against Fury. G'iah is going to lose her ish over her dad. I almost did, because Talos never got to become the badass he once was. I get that casualties are necessary because the stakes are high. What happens in these last 2 episodes will be setting up Armor Wars (if they don't push it back) and isn't there a secret wars too? ...and what will happen in The Marvels. Well, we're in 5 episodes and I'm wondering where my Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D peeps are at. Kevin Feige, I need you to right that wrong and finally make them canon. I need Melinda May, Chromicon Coulson, and Daisy/Quake to just come in...with G'iah, Monica Rambeau and Carol Danvers to wreck shop on Gravik and that asshat that shot Talos. Carol needs to answer for her part in not doing what she promised, so the least she can start with is avenge Talos. I have a feeling that maybe Beto is a double agent, but I'm not sure who his true boss is. I stopped breathing in that fake out between Nick and Priscilla when the screen went black for like..... FOREVER. I don't know if it'll take Fury's death to start up the next generation of Young Adventures, but maybe Deadpool and Wolverine will have something to do with that also. There's just too many new dots to connect. We also got the Thunderbolts to deal with, and seeing as most of the team came from the Captain America spy type movies...will this carry over to Captain America 4? The real Ross is safe in Wakanda, so the Skrulls won't be getting him anytime soon. And are we ever going to find out that Sharon Carter is a Skrull too? And then find the real her and Rhodes? Where does Riri, Shuri and Talokan people fit in this fight? I think there are so many battle fronts to get through before we deal with the Kang dynasty that my head is spinning. Lol
30:28 Answer to Jaby's question: I think it is believable that humans won't like having Scrulls living among them considering how much difficulty LGBTQ people are treated in US, one of the 1st world countries.
I think the theme is more akin to racism than sexuality. Don't forget in Captain Marvel, Talos' first form was a female surfer. So I don't think the sex of the forms they take are as consequential as the skrulls desire & need to be in an environment where they can all look like green aliens and not have anyone bother or judge them for it lol. I got the sense as Talos was talking with his daughter that he was exhibiting some signs of the model minority trope. His plan hinged on the belief that if the skrulls just prove themselves enough and show that they're the "good ones" then they'll be rewarded. This is a similar struggle/delusion that many minorities have had to deal with in the states. Either way, I think a lot of themes can be derived from a story about shapeshifting aliens lol. Lastly, I DEFINITELY think mankind would be prejudice against the skrulls precisely BECAUSE of the MCU's history with aliens. Think about it, haven't most of earth's encounters been with aliens & strange mutated creatures trying to destroy, enslave or take something by force from the earth lol?
This is way more allegory for black people having to hide themselves then a alligaory for transpeople. I think you're jumping the gun with your own ides. Plus talos was literally a Girl on the train. So Don't worry too much about it. I don't want you to put controversy in their way probably not there.
Bruh, gender doesn't apply to a shapeshifter assuming the skin of a whole other race and idk why you'd even go there when that is patently obvious. That is like saying Jaby is transgender because he put on a furry female cat costume.
Bro who were you talking about being trans? You just said a bad guy, killed talos. Are you talkin about gravik? I rewinded that three times cause I’m confused.
Just thought of a new theory, What vif there are THREE factions of Skrulls and Skrhodie is the Skrull Queen and has had a personal plan to try and take over herself.
Guys 1. y'all forgetting the most important part Gravic is nicks, adoptive son!! where do you think he learned to be that good at what he does learned it from fury 2. Achara has a point the relational conversation is very good and turned the moment fury left her by choise again and gravic convinced his adoptive mom that their cause is the right one, if dad could drop them like dirt imagine the rest.
The 2 transgenders are 1. Gravic en 2. Rody, one is mainly male and transforms into females (lovers and girl with ball) and the other is mainly female that has taken Rody as form
Human prejudice!! she did not get into the relationship to spy on Fury!!! she never did and worst of all she had to choose between a child or husband and the husband was the one who betrayed their relationship and abandoned them twice w the second time by choice F@#k the promise he made and they should accept it because he is human or like he said he is the home team!! food for thought
After making bullshit like shehulk and making laughable Thor in last movie of his i happy they doing great job to making thing and situation serious in this series
I think this show deals with the politics of the "model minority" more than anything having to do with transgender. Talos' argument about how they will be accepted is straight up the concept of the hardworking immigrant who puts his head down, doesn't complain and achieves success against discrimination through his efforts rather than confronting the system.
Hey guys! Think the real Rhodey isn’t in stasis in Russian because this dude’s personality is so unlike the real Rhodey. The Skrulls who are imitating the people in stasis are supposedly imperceivable.
I think he’s only perceivable and noticeable to us as viewers, but not to everyone else. Besides, Rhodey being hard line for the govt is not out of character given his history, hell, folks forget that he took Tony’s armor and gave it to the govt to basically use and take apart.
@@CaptainPikeachu I agree with you about the hardline part. And being perceivable to us. And Fury. It’s the personality part…I didn’t suspect him being a Skrull until the sarcasm and metaphors got too extreme. Rhodey is witty and real, but not mean.
The logic of this is gonna change the transgender topic is stupid because this show is saying the opposite that changing who you originally are is tiring and bad
In the wake of ENDGAME, it seems the show hasn't done more to address that Skrulls wouldn't be the first alien refugee community on Earth since humans have allowed Asgardian refugees to have their own community on Earth for years now. Enjoying the show, but feels like the Skrull storyline would've had more impact if this story took place after Civil War and before Infinity War. Aliens would still be something Earth wasn't as used to, SHIELD would still be gone, you could've still given Fury a reason to retreat from his life and role, and you could've added the suspicion about if the Sokovia Accords was a Skrull plot to weaken the Avengers.
I really thought Disney might have really gone there with Fury killing his wife but nope they chickened out even though it would have made sense to the story. Also with only 6 episodes can we stop with these 30-35 minutes episodes Disney? This series really needed to be at least 8-10 episodes not 6 it's irritating that Disney keeps doing that with these limited series.

@@donnyouttheway4091 Also, it's scale--I believe it was *Stalin* that said "The death of one is a tragedy; the death of thousands is a statistic."
I could see Rhody haveing some PTSD about this incident in the Armor Wars movie down the line, similar to Stark in Iron Man 3.
13:38 you literally saw in the 3rd episode that he has the extremis healing, they have all the powers not just one
I mean it was easy to see that Giah was not dead there were two times in trailers that Giah was in that had not been in the show yet
Jaby I'm trans and that has zero to do with trans at all, the blk dude changed into a white guy and talos turned into a woman aswell, I think her skill level was up to par that's why they used her. Nothing to do with trans women
Jaby made sense in a way imo . Also theres no skin level.
@@daglorious1 he made no sense, they can change into anybody, male or female it has zero to do with trans visibility
@@AtlCinderella80 well seeing how we got 3,000+ genders now. men and females can change into anybody these days soooooooo 👀. Still kinda make sens
The show is very high quaslity. What bugs me about it is each episode gets progressively shorter, which is a little frustrating. This episode, not counting credits and the recap is around 30 minutes.
So?
They said they cut the episodes into how long they needed to be. So this is likely the shortest we’ll get
Fury Is also A SKRULL but he didn't know because he was brainwashed
Jaby to answer your question at the end.
A million Skrulls are already on Earth from after Infinity War, that's half a decade of everything being peaceful between Skrulls and Humans. But, humans don't know Skrulls are among them. And they all don't need to be stored in a fracking pod too, like Varra shared the story, Skrulls could have taken a dying person's place.
Gravik is offering living as they did on Skrullos. Some have sided with him, most Skrulls probably don't know about it and some Skrulls were on Talos' side.
The monologue on every eps in this show is really good. The drama was great not gonna lie.
Achara did say skull, but we'll forgive it 😛
She wasn’t a plant from the beginning she just wanting to be with Fury so she assumed someone’s personality she didn’t betray him until after he left the second time
Hot damn, this episode was straight heat!
Why is no one talking about that perfect pacing?!
Every ep is awesome got the same feeling when i watched loki....best web series after loki in mcu❤
Technically the first trans character is Loki (as loki is genderfluid which is under the trans umbrella) who was a villain but then became a hero kinda
and im unsure, as a trans person myself I think this show is giving more Immigrant then trans stuff.
Personally I see it much more as kind of an immigrant issue
Talos represents the old idea of "Good Immigrant". The idea that if the migrants are just quiet, nice and do what they're told society will accept them. It's an old idea because stuff like racism, sexism and just xenophobia kinda discredits a lot of work. And its essentially to say "pretend you're someone you're not, and everyone will love you"
While G'iah represents the idea of "Being oneself" despite the border.
JABY out here overclocking his brain on unimportant plot points. 🤣🤣🤣
U guys went waaaaaaay to far to the left and way overthinking stuff with the lady skrull pretending to be Rody lol 😂 🤦🏿♂️🤣
Is there a "What's Up?" T shirt with Achara"s face? I would buy that
My assumption is Rhodey has been a skrull since after Endgame. Most likely during Falcon America.
15:55 basically, you choose to belive the lie
ARE YOU GONNA END EVERY EPISODE WITH SOMEONE DYING?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
This Ep made me cry 😭

THANKS for this, CinePals!!!
Seems you guys forgot about Extrimis from iron man 3 it can heal people
My theory is what if it's Soren who's impersonating Rhodey. That would be really messed up and the way Skrhodey talked to Scilla in the church, it felt personal. He/she wants to kill Fury. Maybe Soren is bitter over his lack of commitment in finding them home or something. Just a rogue theory.
Rhoadey doesn't even talk like that.
Most people love dogs but some people hate dog and some people eat dogs. Skrulls wouldn't have a chance.
Great episode I just wish it was longer. I want to get into the headspace of fury why he left earth after the blip. Not just other people telling us how he feels

WHAT IF Rhodey is G'iah's mother???????

Everyone pauses at the end like I did. Manipulation is not cool Kevin.
Why DIDNT Fury and Captail Marvel help them find a world? Pretty big not to answer that. Also people dont even know Skrulls are here. Why do Skrulls hate them?
It was said before that they were basically met with violence anywhere they went - likely due to the Skrulls’ own violent history and reputation that they kept getting turned away
Also humans don’t need to know that a bunch of Skrulls are here for Skrulls to hate us, especially when they want to live in their own skin and knows that the moment they reveal themselves, humans will see them as a threat, as the response that humans have always shown
OMG... Will you stop trying to interject ideology into this where there isn't any?! Why can't it just be that this Skrull was the best one for the job to impersonate Rhoadie?! Skrulls don't have sexual identity issues like humans. THEY'RE NOT HUMAN. 🙄🙄🙄
So annoying.
"I need to speak to Gravik." "Yeah, well, you're talking to me."
"What Gravik needs, what Gravik doesn't need... I'm the one telling you to kill Fury."
I don't think anyone in the U.S.
Lol

Answer to Jaby's question:
I think it is believable that humans won't like having Scrulls living among them considering how much difficulty LGBTQ people are treated in US, one of the 1st world countries.

I don't think Rhoady became a scrull until after endgame. His behavior in this is different than earlier on in the saga.
I think this show deals with the politics of the "model minority" more than anything having to do with transgender. Talos' argument about how they will be accepted is straight up the concept of the hardworking immigrant who puts his head down, doesn't complain and achieves success against discrimination through his efforts rather than confronting the system.
Nick and Carol can help the Skrulls take Thanos' empty world of Titan.
24:18 try saying SKRULL in Japanese.. It's even harder.. 😂
Actually other than the Skrulls, there is another alien race on Earth right now in MCU. Its the Asgardian.

Where's rhodey???
I really thought Disney might have really gone there with Fury killing his wife but nope they chickened out even though it would have made sense to the story. Also with only 6 episodes can we stop with these 30-35 minutes episodes Disney? This series really needed to be at least 8-10 episodes not 6 it's irritating that Disney keeps doing that with these limited series.
