- What’s up guys and welcome back to the Chanel! In this video I break down the FA20dit, that originally came out of my 2015 Wrx, to a short block. We pull off the timing cover, cams and heads and I explain briefly how to do so and what I am finding and little problems and solutions I may have for you guys. Anyways like always. Thanks for watching!!
Just did one of these. I paid the $20 for service data off Mitchell DIY. Seemed pretty thorough right down to pictures on where to apply sealant, valve shim thickness etc
I appreciate your time to show us what you are doing dude, will be watching you sir!
You can ziptie the rollers to the springs as well
It's in PDF form and it is what the factory uses.
Did your motor blow? If so replace anything that oil touchs. Cam gears should be replaced either way. Most people say to replace the injectors as well.
Thankfully it did not blow. It had low compression so trying to get down to why. Then I would like to build it up. Thank you for the tips. I appreciate it!! Definitely need to get everything hot tanked and cleaned up for sure
@@T.Hansen for sure I can't wait to see the build! I'm fully built motec and port injection. Should be on the dyno this week.
Can’t wait to see what your car puts down man. Been following the build closely
@@T.Hansen Thank you so much!! Glad to have so much support in the community
can i keep the timing chain and tensioner and re use it on my new built block? current block is still in superb shape with 20k miles
I would honestly recommend just getting all new parts if you are spending the money to build a fresh motor
@@T.Hansen no thr bottom end I bought built, haven't installed it.
Part 3?
If you plan on doing this even somewhat often, just get ALLDATA
Any updates?
Not yet unfortunately. I still need to continue on some tear down and have had some life changes that have put the build on a little pause. I am hoping to get back to it very soon though!! Thank you for your interest!!
