how long does it take from start to finish ?
Nice, looks good
Great job on the vid and the fluid change process. What year is your Raptor? I have a 2019 Platinum FX4 with the 9.75 and some sites say this cover wont fit my truck.
lower fog bezels...if rounded = '15-'17. if two pointy fingers = '18-'21
Thanks for the informative install. Just completed mine and it looks great.
Update: it’s been to long but finally got around to tearing this thing apart. Diagnoses was that the car decided to do a piston skirt delete!! All 4 piston skirts had chunks out of them, metal was found in the pan along with the chunk that broke off. This thing was still running and getting beat on hitting 25lbs of boost with no knock numbers. There is a video on my shorts of one of the pistons. Block is still in good shape, just needs a hone. Not sure what to do next with it. Only time will tell as certain situations have changed
I am the general manager of a large auto repair and service shop in Temecula CA and I have A1 thru A9 and C1 ASE certificates and an AS degree in automotive and transportation technology and I've just entered my 19th year in the industry in 2024. I have a very low mileage 2008 Corvette but that is a weekend car not to mention its LS3 V8 chugs gas like a frat boy chugs beer lol. So I recently traded in my Ford and got a 2015 WRX with the same FA20DIT boxer and six speed manual and I love it so much its my daily driver for both a fun commute with better gas mileage. But it now has just passed up the 100K mile mark on the odometer and I never have nor do I expect any problems because in my line of work and being a die hard gearhead from the real motor city of Dearborn MI I have never taken anything but beyond meticulous and frequent if not too frequent care of my Subie and every car I've ever owned. I just got this service of walnut blasting done at the best most experienced Subie guy around who is also the shop owner and owner of other Subarus which shows he not only owns a Subie shop but he's truly a Subie lover. His name is Juan he owns Subie Stop just up the road from my home in Hemet CA and he did this entire service for only $450 out the door and that wasn't just labor he also replaced all those gaskets such as the intake manifold, TGVs, and the other gaskets disturbed during disassembly which should always be done whether they're damaged or not and every single bolt was torqued to exact specs in the factory manual. Anyway my point being u did a great job on the video and BTW I love that bore camera but its always wise to inform others about the little but very important steps such as gasket replacement, torque specs and the like otherwise I think this was a well laid out video. I would just hate for someone to tackle the job solo going by the video who isn't as experienced as some of us and find a leaking gasket after completely reassembling the whole job that would suck lol.
Ya save your money for an iag and drive something else for now. If not you'll be dealing with this same issue again and again.
That’s the compound and pad combo that also works for me on almost all applications!
Great video my man you just proved to a lot of people just like I try to prove in my videos that you can make your truck or whatever kind of vehicle you’re driving look good without breaking the bank on different modifications. Those rough country lights look great on that raptor I have an F150 And a lot of my modifications are not super expensive and mines look great. If those had have been rigid lights, they would’ve cost you well over $700 but as I was saying I would’ve done the same thing and I probably will when I finally buy myself a Raptor because I am getting a Raptor one day, but anyway, my name is Tommy and I just want to thank you for the great content in your video. Keep up the good work you make me a new subscriber to you.
Looks Absolutely STUNNING. Night and day difference. Thanks again, Tyler. You are now my go to guy for all things detailing. Can't wait to see how the ski Nautique turns out. Maybe another UA-cam video??? Lol
We most definitely will be doing a video on the boat!!
Piston off of my 2015 Wrx Fa20dit. Car had a ticking noise that didn’t sound like rod knock. We thought it was valve train tick so we were gonna swap out heads with a spare I have. Well that’s not the case!! Piston wall left the chat!!
Piston skirt.
I put spicer nodular iron diff covers and lube lockers on everything I can.
bros tryna save money with a gen 2
hey how do you like your RC fog lights. I am thinking about it but kinda bummed they don't offer one of the pair with amber flood light. Do you know if we canattach a amber lens on top of it?
Hermano no te veo muy confidente con ese regueros de alambre 🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪💪😀😀😀🎅🎅🎅🎅🙏🙏🙏🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
Good video brotha 👍
Very nice, very helpful!
I thought it was 75W-140 for rear differential and 75W-90 for front differential. ? check out Ford Tech Makuloco ua-cam.com/video/-LIm-YZ4DUI/v-deo.htmlsi=cR6byQlNp7xxysAE
What do you think will happen if you drop a couple of ball bearings side there
Yeah the 4 cylinder 2.4 Toyota carefully takes it some will take it and he damn right up and stumbled make a lot of timing chain noise drop a couple of balls in the roller motor 160 it's sucking right Android even hear a thing no difference to the noise of the engine the Integra not sure drop the ball bearings and not after getting rid of it don't know exactly what it said cuz it's something but yeah what does two Diamond chains on each side that long long motor plug gaskets like a dolls yeah so busy came s*** last Uber I enjoy was a 1979 Subaru wagon with a 5-speed I got a 84 suction no power piece of s*** yeah garbage last one I haven't looked at No Doubt
You wouldn't happen to know who had the black 04 Corvette Z06 in this group would you? I woke up one morning with a bit of morning mist on the windshield and i could see where one of those stickers used to be. I bought the car in Lacey. Thanks in advance if ya know... and no worries if not lol
"There goes your warranty." 🤣 No loss. Warranties are hardly worth a shit, anyway. Red tape, hoops, BS.
Lol. Warranty was voided on this one a few days after purchase 🤣
what side splitters and front lip is that?
What blue spats are those?
usdm rear splats from subispeed
which yr sti caliper you use???
2017
Good video!
Thank you!
what brand/type of oil was the owner using? I'm at 52k on my fa20, no aos. I'm almost scared to check. curious how long some have gone before doing a walnut blast, if ever?
He likes to use motul 5-30 I believe
currently at 67k mi and still no walnut blasting...still getting 28+ mpg hwy
how many pounds of walnut media would you recommend getting? i have a 21 wrx with 26k
i know this is old and you probably figured it out by now but you can see one of the impellors on your turbo is missing a chunk out of it something definitely got sent through there
That sounds like rod knock to me. Give us an update!
Sure hoping it’s not. Some ppl say it is some say it doesn’t quite sound like it. But we’ll see! If it is then it’s built block time!
If you have good compression, oil analysis, and hear the sound from the heads, it could be DI seal. I had that issue for my '15 WRX with a similar sound.
Rodger that. I will move up compression testing to one of the sooner things I do in diagnosis. Thank you!
Any updates? Saw the recent video but that was a month ago
Hey what’s up bro? Finally get to see your car lol…I am thinking valve train too, but hope you find out what’s wrong and get it going again!
Lol yea time to start working on it finally. Hopefully get an idea this week of what went wrong and get the motor pulled. I’m ready to rip this thing!!
Where?
Moses lake Sand dunes in Moses Lake Wa.
Thought you guys got nuked at 5:06 😅
😂😂😂😅😅
How’s the color match up to the OEM raptor lights and headlights? Great video btw exactly how I plan on wiring mine down to the switch!
They match up pretty dang close!! They might just be a smig warmer than the factory orange lighting
great vid! super helpful and for anyone wondering… white is light blue is DRL (amber in my case)
Only ford I'd buy lol, those ones look awesome
Do you think running all 6 on one 12v wire would put all them at not full potential?
I think all 6 would be a bit strained on a single 12v. But it would be worth a try!
@@T.Hansen I figure it will, but man it would be nice if I could just have one switch for amber and one for whites.
@@Jaymcclellan5 hey it would be worth the try to see. It’s pretty quick to wire once everything is in place if you are issuing the factory aux switches or a switch block. If your in a gen2 switches 1 and 2 are 20amp so it may be totally fine and then out the ambers on another
@@Jaymcclellan5 I’ve thought about it more and maybe you will be alright. I mean some ppl run 50” light bars off one switch 🤷🏻♂️
great video. just curious, is it recommended to replace or OK to just reuse the upper engine intake gaskets and o rings (from TGV to cylinder head)?
So I do not replace them, however I do thoroughly inspect them and have extras on hand if they do need to be replaced due to nicks or tears. I do like to take the gaskets out and run a bit of silicone grease on them so they will swell a bit and helps them from getting brittle. I also do talk to my customers about it and if it is something they would also like replaced right off the bat, I will do that for a bit more charge.
All i know is Jim Bruer is a fool who did one good movie
Joe knows fuck all about cars
❤❤
Cars and tasty Boba what’s not to like?
So much fun
👏👏👏
🔥🔥🔥
Love it brotha!
what was the failure? cause these dont typically have ringland problems.
can i keep the timing chain and tensioner and re use it on my new built block? current block is still in superb shape with 20k miles
I would honestly recommend just getting all new parts if you are spending the money to build a fresh motor
@@T.Hansen no thr bottom end I bought built, haven't installed it.
How many miles were on this car when you did the job?
