Sarah Waters Viscuso oh this is a genius idea!! I don’t have any videos YET on how to stitch them together... but your comment has given me an explosion of ideas!!!! Stay Tuned
I should probably clarify that I'm on my boyfriend's account before responding to anything knitting wise, haha. I am a complete newbie to crocheting and this is the first tutorial for granny squares that I've been able to grasp. The squares came out so perfectly and quickly, which is a relief since I am attempting a project that will require 700 of them! Thank you so much for making it so simple to understand.
That is f-ing brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing. I'm creating a pixel blanket for a friend and this is genius. I mean award-winning genius. A million thanks.
How big did it come out im going to try to make a pixel blanket but for a baby and was hoping that i could just follow the pattern and not have it come out huge please let me know thank you also im using a medium weight yarn and im going to try a small crochet hook
Tracey, I very much enjoy watching your videos! I loved seeing your tiny little granny squares as opposed to my large, double crochet ones I use for making my blankets. One of your videos reminded me of an important step I had forgotten. Making a uniform stitch all the way around my work before adding the border! How could I forget that? Well, I'm newly reintroduced to crochet again after watching UA-cam! Thank you for all your hard work and great examples! Angela
OMFG! I LOVE IT! I was googling tiny granny squares, and yours is so easy, tiny and perfect! Thank you for saving my day! Your tutorial is very easy to follow, keep it up!
@scrapbookingbyleann the only way to make this particular square larger without getting into a more detailed pattern is to: Use thick yarn and hold 2 strands of yarn together at the same time. Use at least a size "N" crochet hook or larger. One last thing, replace the hdc (half double crochets) with dc (double crochets.)
Every other pattern I've used for granny squares uses the following instructions, start with a slip stitch, chain 4, then make a slip stitch through the first chain and through the last chain, then chain 3 for your beginning double crochet, DC 2x, chain 2 DC 3X and at the end you have your tiny square. I've wasted so many hours and I don't know why I have only gotten 2 that I am happy with. Three years ago, I had no problem, but I also used different yarn that time. I might have to try your method.
I'm using cotton yarn. But I have a patten for the granny square gingerham place mat, and I need small squares that you doing but a little bit medium, so I guess you can say in between if you know what I'm talking about. Thank you.
❤❤❤ finally a tutorial I can understand ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for teaching me how to make miniature granny squares xx

@JohnnyElsewhereTV yes I would try to loosen your tension. Keep your stitches loose so that they glide and easily slide across the hook.

@33Muslimah - every crochet project starts with a slip knot; but not all begin with a magic circle.
@JanREBEL LOL The possiblilites are endless with the TGS. I am in love **swoon** Hope you try the bracelet out :-)
What is the best way to join these squares?
@CindyRobertson123 They are so much fun! Talk about instant gratification. The hemp bracelet is super easy, too. Got lots more ideas for these TGS!
