I really enjoyed his brief yet informative discussion on the lifestyle change and sacrifices you have to make being a pro athlete and a family man/woman. Many times we as fans only pay attention to their job, their sport of choice and what type of performance they bring to the big stage. We often miss the fact that they have developing families with small children and building relationships that need to be sustained and cultivated. Eddie did an excellent job at giving just a bit of insight into some of the decisions one should consider before making such a drastic change to their already busy life.

i find it very interesting that bodybuilders have the strength to not only eat in a deficite but also on days like these with exact macros and counting cals in general. i can’t even imagine how exhausting it is, training almost everyday and just restricting in many ways. hopefully, on some occasions like christmas they try to not restrict much. that would be so sad :/

Most dads don't spend tons of time with their kids on a day-to-day basis. My dad worked a lot of overtime to support our family. He would work a minimum of 60 hours a week and they were graveyard shifts so he slept during the day.

I know a lot of guys these days are doing chest and shoulders together. I don't see how you can hit your heavy compound shoulder movements and/or your heavy chest compound movements if you do one or the other. I know if I do heavy military presses (heavy for me) that there is no way I'm going to be able to do heavy incline bench or whatever. Yes you do work your shoulders during chest to some extent but I just think that is a lot of area to cover in one workout.

First time I've seen someone eat a Rice Crispy post-workout. Is his reasoning for doing it legit? Doesn't it offset/negate part of the workout he just finished? Honest question. Like I said - never seen anyone else do this.
I’m curious myself lol. If it’s only one though, then he should be fine. Especially considering how much he eats.
Like he said: the Rice Crispy is there for spiking insulin to absorb the protein shake better.
Rice Crispy Treats are very common thing for bodybuilders/strongmen.
You also could eat a banana or some gummies instead.
Most gym influencers like Alex Eubank actually eat rice krispie as a pre-workout

The real reason he's eating the rice crispy treat is because he's taking insulin.

The way he structures his carbs and fat around his workout is the complete opposite of what I do. I eat the sugary goodness right before a workout to give me a jolt of energy to push harder than last time in the gym. After my workout I eat complex carbs and some fat (slows carb absorption) to go with it to sustain me until my next meal. Odd, but whatever floats his boat.
You go through that sugar much faster so it won’t last as long as carbs. But everyone’s body is different so maybe you handle it better
I do the same thing you do. I’ll probably try switching to Eddie’s strat and seeing how my body responds. I’m always open to trying something new, especially if it could be better.
If you don’t look like him I would probably take his advice and do what he’s doing
@@Dr.Gamboa To be fair to this guy my workouts are later in the day so I have most of my daily calories in and I don't need to worry about how much energy I have for the rest of the day. I don't use pre workout either, though, so I need something for that boost.
