- Possibly the best Conductor I’ve ever experienced on Amtrak. He didn’t miss a trick. He went above and beyond. We enjoy a beautiful sunset ride on this fast train to NY made possible by the longer days we now experience. Engineer was terrific also as he was fast and managed to get us into NY 3’ early in spite of a number of obstacles. His horn blowing sent happy chills up my spine. All stations, interlockings, and passing trains are identified with infographics. I’ve ridden this train numerous times, but this was the best of all!!!!
Love the Conductor Communication and the engineer blaring the horn like a champ
Something very nostalgic for me about whipping down the NEC on a summer evening.
I love trains as well
I heard about that fire on the scanner yesterday. Cool to see you were on that train.
Thanks for noting the Interlockings along the way!
I recently had 2 Keystone Service trips to New York. Speedy. Comfortable. Quiet. Great crews on both trips.
Thanks Tim😀💚
I believe I saw construction equipment for the new Portal bridge. Can’t come soon enough!
Every time I watch your videos that show Holmesburg Junction, I'm back in my neighborhood where I was raised. I grew up on Marple Street and Torresdale Avenue, which was less than a 10-minute walk from my house to Holmes Tower. I always wanted to ride up on the Bustleton Branch to the full line, but I could only do that by Bus or Car. So I guess wouldn't really see the full line. Hey Mr. Retired Railfan, if you ever get railfan Holmesburg Junction, go to AL's conner deli at Torresdale & Rhawn or Mr. Chubby's on State Road just a little past I-95 over pass. For good BBQ you should go south on State Rd before Cottman to Sweet Lucy's
From the B&O bridge I believe B&O went from station Island and converted to CNJ Yard which had been in Cranford between north and south ave. Where canfied DPW is CNJ had a round house. The connection track for B&O IS still their out of service along with crossing lights on south ave.
As a Cranford resident I can confirm this is completely true. Connecting track from raritan valley line (cnj main) to staten Island is still there, parts of the track on the old right of way towards elizabeth/ jersey city is still there. No tracks to the roundhouse anymore, which was almost torn down a few years ago
@Joshua Schwartz yes Raritan valley RR interchanged also with Lehigh valley and Lackawanna in summit. All the tracks removed from north Ave Cranford thru union all up into summit
Nice catch on the High Line!
WOW never seen the Delaware river that shallow
New bridge going in just after the Swift interlocking?
7:59 ex Port Road Branch to the long gone Sears Warehouse. I live in the area of the fire. The city ordered my neighborhood to shelter in place.
That conductor has a HARD Philadelphia accent.
Perhaps. It didn’t sound like Tirdy Tird Street
@@3985uprr A Philadelphian will say ThiRty ThiRd StReet!
1. Just past "Ham" at 29:50, there is a long line of yellow "hopper"? cars on the siding..surprisingly with NO GRAFFITI at all on them. Wondering what they might be?
2. At just about 1:00:00, most likely the WMCA570 radio towers, out in the water there? They are in Kearny, vicinity of Belleville Tpk.
I love your videos, Thanks!!
Nice video I do miss your wonderful narration though but I know it was a quiet train
Thanks. Sometimes I abstain from narrating in order to avoid distracting passengers or employees. In that case I make up for that using graphics.
Great video!.. btw, what was the maximum speed?
125
@@3985uprr Thanks!
What ever junkyard had bbq they didnt have someone watch for fire when suing torches should always have water bucket and a fire watch person when cutting torch is used
The late Septa local was probably a train consisting of all Silverliner IV's.... Hence the delay..lol😮
Nope. They were 5’s 😢😢😩😩
All commuter operators on the NEC have 2nd highest priority. Only the Acela has higher priority.
The reason for all the horn blowing around Edison that day was a report of a bunch of trespassers in the area.
I figured as much since he was blowing so hard far past that platform.
Why don't they stop at North Philly anymore? Is the neighborhood that bad, or they just do not see the need??
Amtrak trains don’t stop with few exceptions. Not the best neighborhood north Philadelphia mainly serve the east west trains that bypassed Philadelphia when those trains went away the need for stopping there went away
@@3985uprr Thanks!
Several early morning (eastbound) and evening (westbound) Keystones make North Philly.
