Rockman X5 - Unarmored X VS Irregular Zero (No Damage) [Xtreme]

- After that Speed run through Zero stage 3 I did before, I toyed around with this battle with Zero for some time. As I found out, this fight is a cakewalk.
Ok here's how he works. Basically, you can manipulate him with ease. If you are a close enough distance from him, he will attempt to use his Giga Attack on you. If you are a certain distance to him in the air, he will dash. If you are standing still at a longer distance while he stands still, he will shoot two Saw edged shots at you followed by a saber projectile and as you will see, that Saw edged shot stops short of hitting X.
Utilizing all of this knowledge, I was able to perform this battle flawlessly.
Ok I know that Zero in this battle will eventually throw the 1-hit kill your way, but he's never going to use it because it takes a certain time in the fight before he uses it so he will be dead long before he does it. You are able to dodge the 1-hit kill by jumping over him continuously, but he is invincible while he uses it so you can't do anything but die.

Ahh, the ol' Giga Attack lock trick. It's such a pity that we didn't get a proper vs Zero battle in the X series.
Omega in ZX was much closer.
Thankfully the Legacy Collections fixed this.
Agreed, I noticed how X and Zero's battle in the X games they always seem to be holding back to a degree, while Omega Zero uses most of Zero's arsenal like his Z saber to slash or lock you. His special attack and so on.
Wow. I thought I was good at the X series. This makes me look awful. Simply amazing. Guess I'll have to get back on it and brush up my skills.

I've done thins once, though it was not nearly as perfectly executed as yours and it took me MAAAANNY tries. I also did not know the trigger exploit trick against Zero's C-flasher attack at that time. It had to be one of the toughest fights I ever had.

ok, good run, but the problem I have with these "No-Damage" runs is that they are supposed to show skill.
it doesn't take skill to dodge 3 easy to dodge projectiles and stick him into that wave attack.
...unless i'm being outright stupid and I'm forgetting that fight, but i'm sure that V. Zero has more than 3 attacks (excluding Genmurei). [blame my lack of functioning PS1 and only fighting V. Zero once to my recolection should i be wrong :V]

OH NOW I GET WHY X SAYS ZERO USED SOUL BODY TO DAMAGE HIM. When Zero was defeated he sneakily used Soul Body on X just before he collapses.

Enzo L. I never understood the point of no charge. It's basically an exact replica of doing it with a charge, but instead, it takes about 5 times longer. It's very boring.
Also, the level of Irregular Zero doesn't matter. He is always the same strength.

on a side note, if it is this disgustingly easy, why is it that everyone and their brother do this "Challenge", because it's basically watching the same thing over and over... and OVER.

I am trying to complete the game with unarmored X with just the Buster and nothing else, but zero is giving me problems, I will use this video as a little help.

How do you predict Zero's Ground-Hitting move?
I go over his patterns and how X's movement makes him do certain moves in the description. Works almost exactly the same as the fight with Zero in MMX2. Your movement controls what he will do. After some practice, you should know everything he will do and how to manage the situation.
(Also dont duck me if this is not canon)

although I beat him unarmored by accidentally jump cheating, I can't give you kudos cause zero's lvl 3 with a small health bar. all you did was immediately fail eurasia destruction and went straight to him. the more time passes, the stronger your bosses become.
How do you know Zero's Giga Attack is going to come up from the ground? I could never predict it.
Citizen 17 he always does it at a close distance and shoots projectiles when you're further away

That was Soul Body (a move from MMX4).
so that's mean x's been taken soul body and be injured so he get down in 1:13 right?
For the zero fights against x i think it was soul body because it's passing through zero but for x fights zero i guess it might be the skiver boss zero's skill because it fade after impact with x

You fail...that is, you don't prevent the colony from crashing into Earth. Zero will go AWOL, and at the end of that level, you fight the "Nightmare" Zero instead of the normal form. Apparently if you wait too long, or something, he can even do a massive slash attack that will one-hit kill you.
How I face irregular Zero? (I only finished this game once, I prefer X4)

I didn't cheese him, I demonstrated a number of ways that you can manipulate him. Read the description.
Autocharge
If I used Autocharge, X would be charging even at the beginning of the video when he enters the boss room, yet he is not.
That does not prove anything you can actually charge manually once you enter the Boss room, during the warning alert, but still good job! Love these games, well... the good ones xD x7 and 8 are crap

The fact that X isn't always charging, including before entering the boss room, and during Warning indicates that Autocharge is off, because if it was on, Autocharge would be effecting at all times, including those, and after Zero is defeated. Play the game yourself and you can confirm it. Autocharge ALWAYS charges.
