if I were a Thinblood then yeah, diablerie all the way; I'd want that full vampire status. In Bloodlines 2, this was the plan for the player character, btw... you would start off as a Thinblood, then at some point in the story you become 1 of the "real" clans most likely via sanctioned diablerie.... the clans would want certain kindred to be "dealt with" harshly one way or another.

i noticed a pretty big oversight in the explanation segment. diablery is a specific choice- you can drain another vampire dry and force them into torpor without diablerizing. this is supported by the fact that if your vampire is in frenzy and drains/kills another vampire, they will never diablerize them.
that frenzy vampires dont diablerize might be duo to them beeing the same generation or lower or just 1 higher,what would happen if a frenzy vampire kills a high enuf generation that it wil become stronger then its consider a diablerisation. usualy a frenzied vampire can only kill an equal vampire and that is pointless for power gain.
I played vampire for a long time back in the 90s and early 2000s I actually still have my copy of laws of the night. And my special edition vampire dictionary.
I will say one thing, as far as I'm aware you can't really up your generation through Diablerie, only lower it. Many elders actually gain a flaw that forces them to diablerize weaker vampires to keep going known as the Methuselahs Thirst, and this has never really made them less powerful. V5 might have changed some of the diablerie lore though so I don't know 100%
V5 did not change the rule. I have seen people get confused because of blood potency, thinking they'll move up a generation. You can't move up a generation, but you can move up in your blood potency. Your starting and max blood potency is tied to your generation now.

And if a 9th generation diablerized a 4th, they wouldn't be 4th, it would definitely go down at least a few, possibly making them 7th or 6th generation. But you are correct in that Ancients generally can and will possess the body. I don't recommend going after a 4th or 5th gen lol, you'd better pray it doesn't wake up or, more than likely, already know you're there...
As a lifetime vampire enthusiast, I’ll be the first to say that your channel has been a godsend (ironic). I’ve wanted this kind of content for forever, and i don’t think I’ve come across anyone that does it better than you. If you haven’t made plans to cover it already, I HIGHLY recommend you talk about the vampires/vampire derivatives from Darren Shan’s “Cirque du Freak” series. There’s a movie rendition of one of the books, but to really get into the vampire lore, I suggest researching the books, as they’re much better and are quite a bit different than the film. It’s a very grounded take on vampires, but is still a supernatural take in nature. The abilities, cultures, history etc. is unlike any setting I’ve experienced before and I think if you’re not already familiar with the setting, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by it.

Fun fact:In theory with some magic you could take out your own heart and keep it somewhere safe. So if someone tries to diabarise you, they couldn't do it. However if someone finds it he can basically eat the heart and you get big debbufs.
@@____________838 The vampire soul is positioned directly in the heart. This is the reason why vampires get paralyzed if they get hit by the stake. But yeah if there is no heart you can't resally diablarise someone since his soul isn't in the body.

It only goes into 1 of them. The one that gets it could turn around and embrace a random mortal to let his friend eat though. It's sort of implied that's what Giovanni did after diablerizing his sire and destroying most of the Cappadocian clan. A generational leap of 9th to 4th is almost certain to end with the vampire being eaten taking over the new body though unless they were incredibly high willed and strong of soul

The "depiction of diablerie" is actually a picture of a bloodline called the Nagaraja, and in the newest edition they are a part of the Hecate I believe. They're an ancient eastern line who need to eat flesh as well as drink blood, and are a main part of the Tal'Mahe'Ra. Addendum: Besides his demigod level of power, there's another issue of why I can't see Caine falling to the Amaranth. Part of the curses leveled upon him by God and the angels was how anyone who tries to harm him will have that harm also done to them seven times over. It's a major part of the Gehenna scenario involving Lilith with her unknown, before then, Bahari Antideluvians where she wants to kill Caine. Because any way you attempt to harm him will also be done to you, times seven.
Drinking a vampires' blood is a way to learn their special disciplines, but the vampire has to teach it willingly. Often it means a small bond and a boon (a favor) as payment. Over the course of unlife older vampires would have accumulated lots of disciplines, making them truly nutritious treats for younger licks. Also, this is why the Tremere are hated in game and by players (in a fun way). Tzimisce and Nosferatu were used as bases for the gargoyles, basically gargoyles are deformed and twisted vampires. The tremere do very evil things to keep their power and usefulness, because if they stopped being useful, they would be killed to extinction. They're completely zealous over Thaumaturgy (blood magic) for this reason.
I see comments complaining that this guy is getting a few things wrong, well yeah he's human? Not everyone knows everything about the game and he makes mistakes, it's still interesting and he explained the topic well and brings new people into your Fandom to appreciate it.
I have a question though .,.. Cain was the most powerful, a true immortal with a weakness to sun, so as his direct descendants the 2nd gen should theoretically be far stronger than the 3rd gen, as 2nd gen had cains direct blood in them. So how were they killed off. I think somehow one of the 2nd gen must have killed the other 2 and made a deal with devil/god/angels/lilith to hide/take away/repent so cain could not find him. Hence, he thought the 3rd gen killed them off and cursed them. This way gods favourite children were safe and he maintained all authority. Similarly lilith could have wanted revenge and did it as well or maybe the devil wanted him to suffer.

What's your source for increasing a kindred's generation by diablerizing a higher generation kindred? I've played V:TM for close to 20 years and haven't come across that before (not to say that it doesn't exist in some version I'm not familiar with) just curious.
I wonder if by breaking the will (i mean by will their will to live) of your target you want to diablorize ,can you make the poces less dangerous or fully negate the danger of the soul of the diablorized to take over your body?
No you can't become lord or lady by what Established titles propose. There are 3 ways to officially become lord in UK: 1 Be born as one 2 Marry lord or lady 3 Be given title by current monarch What Established title will give you is a piece of paper with no legal power and contract of leasing a land from some landowner. If to become lord all what is needed is a small piece of land, than every man that owns garden, house or is a farmer already has noble title.
I have to comment some small thing that (maybe) I got wrong, thanks to my DM. I played Vampire The Masquerade and got BORED TO HELL because all of the rules, ritual and magic that it has. Meaning that rarely we got in a scene with actual action. Well, it's a Telltale RPG, but all the time you just talk? I got really bored in the campaign, and I started to openly complain with my character. "Why do a ritual to some vampire stay dead? Just fucking shoot them in the fucking head!" or "Why can't you just the The Old Fashioned Way?" Where my main arguments. My masters would try and educate me in "the way if the vampires", but sadly for both the players and the DM, I couldn't care less about it. So I started to, well, do crimes. Lots of crimes. Making myself some ghouls, some pacts with the Sabbath (our campaign was with the Camarilla) and I did the Diablerie. However, The DM made that the rules were different then what you said in the video. Thanks to my character being 15th gen, meant that I could do it, but the veins, black mist, and black marks would be all over my body, soul and essence. Making me eccentially an antagonist to the majority of... Well... Everything. This made the game br more fun and more annoying. Not because it was boring, but because it was gotten too much action. However I do prefer this amount of action instead of a Roleplay of 6 hours. The DM made my character be one of the canon characters that he would use in his Universe of WOD. When I asked how, he said that my character would unleash hell (literally) just because the world was a "boringness ball with no initiative whatsoever".

Do the effects stay consistent if you feed them your vampire blood without their knowledge or without their consent ? Seems like that would be a pretty good way to insulate and protect oneself as well as gain allies, soldiers, and lovers...EVIL..but affective.
For the blood bond? Yeah they don't have to be fully aware, and with powers like dominate that can erase memories it's absolutely possible to blood bond someone without their knowledge or consent. Doing it to another vampire can be dangerous since there is always a chance they eventually break the bond or they do something super evil stalkery while bonded to you.
Blood bond? Oh heck yes it works without consent… I remember from my larping days in the early 00s, a Seneschal “spiked” some kind blood that was being served at the Elysium with his own Vitae…

The Setites have a Discipline power that can remove their heart, but I thought the power only prevented the Torpor that would ensue from being staked…

since tremere used Gangrel,Tzimisce, and Nsferatu to make gargoyles

What would happen if a two 9th generation vampires diablerized a 4th generation 50/50. Would they both become an 8th generation, or would the 4th generation still be stronger and now take over "two" vampires?
Generally 1 person gets it or it fails
It only goes into 1 of them. The one that gets it could turn around and embrace a random mortal to let his friend eat though. It's sort of implied that's what Giovanni did after diablerizing his sire and destroying most of the Cappadocian clan.
A generational leap of 9th to 4th is almost certain to end with the vampire being eaten taking over the new body though unless they were incredibly high willed and strong of soul

@@Michael-bn1oi it's heavily believed Mithras intentionally summoned and then forced that guy to eat him for an escape plan given werewolves and powerful kindred were hunting him, so it seems very powerful and old kindred tend to be aware of the fact and can sometimes even weaponize it
Played a Nos in the newest edition and diablerized someone and wasn't punished too severely, I was on good terms with the prince.

The "depiction of diablerie" is actually a picture of a bloodline called the Nagaraja, and in the newest edition they are a part of the Hecate I believe. They're an ancient eastern line who need to eat flesh as well as drink blood, and are a main part of the Tal'Mahe'Ra.
Addendum: Besides his demigod level of power, there's another issue of why I can't see Caine falling to the Amaranth. Part of the curses leveled upon him by God and the angels was how anyone who tries to harm him will have that harm also done to them seven times over. It's a major part of the Gehenna scenario involving Lilith with her unknown, before then, Bahari Antideluvians where she wants to kill Caine. Because any way you attempt to harm him will also be done to you, times seven.
There is also evidence Troile failed to diablerize their Sire Ilyes and actually diablerized the sire of her sire a 2nd generation.

Drinking a vampires' blood is a way to learn their special disciplines, but the vampire has to teach it willingly. Often it means a small bond and a boon (a favor) as payment. Over the course of unlife older vampires would have accumulated lots of disciplines, making them truly nutritious treats for younger licks.
Also, this is why the Tremere are hated in game and by players (in a fun way). Tzimisce and Nosferatu were used as bases for the gargoyles, basically gargoyles are deformed and twisted vampires. The tremere do very evil things to keep their power and usefulness, because if they stopped being useful, they would be killed to extinction. They're completely zealous over Thaumaturgy (blood magic) for this reason.

I see comments complaining that this guy is getting a few things wrong, well yeah he's human? Not everyone knows everything about the game and he makes mistakes, it's still interesting and he explained the topic well and brings new people into your Fandom to appreciate it.
I have a question though .,.. Cain was the most powerful, a true immortal with a weakness to sun, so as his direct descendants the 2nd gen should theoretically be far stronger than the 3rd gen, as 2nd gen had cains direct blood in them. So how were they killed off. I think somehow one of the 2nd gen must have killed the other 2 and made a deal with devil/god/angels/lilith to hide/take away/repent so cain could not find him. Hence, he thought the 3rd gen killed them off and cursed them. This way gods favourite children were safe and he maintained all authority. Similarly lilith could have wanted revenge and did it as well or maybe the devil wanted him to suffer.

When there is Bloodhunt called on someone, the exact words are "destroy by any means necesary" wich in V5 includes Diablerie. ;)

What's your source for increasing a kindred's generation by diablerizing a higher generation kindred? I've played V:TM for close to 20 years and haven't come across that before (not to say that it doesn't exist in some version I'm not familiar with) just curious.

No you can't become lord or lady by what Established titles propose.
There are 3 ways to officially become lord in UK:
1 Be born as one
2 Marry lord or lady
3 Be given title by current monarch
What Established title will give you is a piece of paper with no legal power and contract of leasing a land from some landowner.
If to become lord all what is needed is a small piece of land, than every man that owns garden, house or is a farmer already has noble title.
I have to comment some small thing that (maybe) I got wrong, thanks to my DM.
I played Vampire The Masquerade and got BORED TO HELL because all of the rules, ritual and magic that it has. Meaning that rarely we got in a scene with actual action. Well, it's a Telltale RPG, but all the time you just talk? I got really bored in the campaign, and I started to openly complain with my character.
"Why do a ritual to some vampire stay dead? Just fucking shoot them in the fucking head!" or "Why can't you just the The Old Fashioned Way?" Where my main arguments. My masters would try and educate me in "the way if the vampires", but sadly for both the players and the DM, I couldn't care less about it.
So I started to, well, do crimes. Lots of crimes. Making myself some ghouls, some pacts with the Sabbath (our campaign was with the Camarilla) and I did the Diablerie.
However, The DM made that the rules were different then what you said in the video. Thanks to my character being 15th gen, meant that I could do it, but the veins, black mist, and black marks would be all over my body, soul and essence. Making me eccentially an antagonist to the majority of... Well... Everything.
This made the game br more fun and more annoying. Not because it was boring, but because it was gotten too much action. However I do prefer this amount of action instead of a Roleplay of 6 hours.
The DM made my character be one of the canon characters that he would use in his Universe of WOD.
When I asked how, he said that my character would unleash hell (literally) just because the world was a "boringness ball with no initiative whatsoever".

Do the effects stay consistent if you feed them your vampire blood without their knowledge or without their consent ? Seems like that would be a pretty good way to insulate and protect oneself as well as gain allies, soldiers, and lovers...EVIL..but affective.
For the blood bond? Yeah they don't have to be fully aware, and with powers like dominate that can erase memories it's absolutely possible to blood bond someone without their knowledge or consent. Doing it to another vampire can be dangerous since there is always a chance they eventually break the bond or they do something super evil stalkery while bonded to you.
Blood bond? Oh heck yes it works without consent…
