Actually his friend is still alive, the end credit scene shows he turned and is killing innocent people and I guess they had plans for a sequel where Derrick and the vampire girl teamup to kill Cliff.
How did you know about it?
@@ivansala1379 its in the end of movie man
@@toy5965 They meant how you knew about the sequel's plot. I know you're just making an assumption, but some people might not lol
@@lolrentz oh I remember reading an article about the director saying if the movie did well in box office they had plans for a sequel and mentioned it going in that direction
@@toy5965 Oh, thats even cooler than an assumption, then! Sad the director didn't get to continue this story
the vampire races from the witcher games are fascinating. they can't turn other people, but their lore is very interesting to learn about
i absolutely agree, The Witcher series is one of my favorite Game/fantasy franchises of all time. The Vampires in the Witcher series are interesting since they have similar popular traits like being immensely powerful and mysterious but they are also unique in their own way. I'd love for him to Cover Vampires and other monsters from the Witcher series.
@@connyslayer4661 Lemme be that guy, but the vampires from The Witcher are two different species.
We get the more beastial vampires like Ekimoras and stuff, but then we get the "Higher" vampires like Dettlaff and Regis.
The first kind are basically smart animals weak to typical vampire weaknesses, like light, silver and stuff like that. Higher vampires are essentially immortal aliens who can only be killed by another Higher vampire. Regis in oen of the books describes how he learned to like humanity after being literally cut into bits, staked, burned and then buried alive under a stone slab.
@@SSD_Penumbra very well said actually, i agree. I love the fact that there are different categories and levels of vampires in the Witcher universe. They are immensely powerful and versatile. You put out great information over there and that makes alot of sense. They are ancient powerful and intelligent beings with different levels, types and species. The great vampire s and their interesting lore is what the vampires so interesting in the Witcher universe. I also do need to read the Witcher books sometime, they seem very interesting and well written.
Vampires in the adaptations are completely crippled in concept, compared to the vampires in the books.
High vampires as they appear in the 5th book, are a metaphor for human fear. Regis breaks down the entire concept of a vampire, explaining how each strength and weakness is a symbol for fear in different layers. Starting with social fear, going into sexual fear and ending up with personal fear. In 4 pages, Sapkovski break down the entire history of the real world vampire myth, and how it's created from human fear, prejudice and stupidity. Vampires being overpowered and without any weakness in the Witcher, is Sapkovski's way to critique and mock the reasons why the vampire myth exists in our culture today.
Vampires are not dumb anime monsters that get killed by 50 left clicks and some slow motion.
@@KosmataBradva pretty sure you can’t kill higher vampires in the games lol
The original American Werewolf in London was a wonderful example of not showing too much. My dad had me watching that when I was a child and it terrified me lol
I randomly found that on TV as a kid and it traumatized me lol. I moved to the UK not long after and I was scared to go to the London underground where that old man got chased down and killed.
@@sam8404 I think as long as you stick to the road you'll be fine though 🙂
I like that Audrey wasn't this evil vamp who turned him into a vampire for the lols, but someone who was trying to give him a mercy death and is basically on the same boat as he is. Not a villian, but a victim.
How?
Did you not watch the video?
Her: poor guy, i should mercy kills him
Him: survived and become vampire
Her: well shit, that not how i plans it should be
so she didn't let him die 1 person but through saving him he killed many many ppl lmao
How is drinking a dude’s blood and then turning him into a vampire, a “mercy death”?
I like that you’re now explaining the plot as you go into abilities you should keep that up it makes your content even better ps cliff got turned too watch the post credits
I definitely will thanks for the feedback! 🙏 and I did see the after credit scene, left it as a little surprise for people that havnt seen the movie 🎥
@@coganLollins thanks for replying man love the content pretty cool to see how much this channel has grown since it started 🤟
@@coganLollins legit thought the thumbnail was vladimir putin or something
Where can I find the after credits?
YESSSS YES YOU FINALLY DID THIS! I'M SO HAPPY MY DUDE. I absolutely love the transformation to vampire in this one. I love when the change to being a vampire isn't a simple one and done, but as messy as you'd think it would be to...physically die, change, become something abnormal. And they did this on such a low budget!
I feel you bro One of my favorite vampire/found footage/ movies ever 😂
@@kv5hn.635 I have repeatedly told people to watch this movie. I really think it's THE BEST found footage movie out there!
I love how he basically turned into a superhero or anti-hero.
If you were forced to kill, wouldn't you pick the scum of the earth?
I loved that so much. I’d like to think i would do the same if this happened to me lol
one of my top 5 FF films of all time and one of my top 10 Vampire films of all tieme. Was SO surprised when I found it , bought it and watched it. I was blown away sky high. Should be part of any film collector's collection.
12:55 not necessarily, there are some people that would see the power of a vampire as a curse while others would see it as a gift even with the need to hunt and kill, to them it's just something to put up with as a price for the powers they now have.
For some people they don't have any links to the world no friends or close family or if they do have that they just don't care, they have problems making personal connections this would make one of the biggest downsides of having to watch as your loved ones grow old and die while you live on completely mute, on the other hand their are some that would happily take on the curse of a vampire to watch over their family generation after generation like the character from the Anne Rice vampire Chronicles that I've forgotten the name of.
Different people react in completely different ways so the female vampire in this film may see the power it gives her as a gift and the having to feed part is treated just like how we have to go food shopping aka just something that's we need to do, I mean how meny of us think of what we are actually eating? My mum can't eat any meat if she thinks of what it really was before it got processed (and she barely eats any meet before that)
essentially your life style pre vampirism decides if its a curse or not if your a isolated loner who already didnt interact with people too much then it is only a postive once you learn self controll always some thugs criminals or awefull people to knock out and drink a cup of blood or too.
and the modern day makes moving from place to place easy even in the amount of cloths nessarcy to move in the sun without getting toasted.
im disappointed they havent made a sequel to this with cliff becoming a vampire too. id like to see them reunite and find answers to the questions we have lol
After credits.
@@_zombie_queen_ i know.. thats why i said cliff becomes a vampire..
@@TANK1xEMK no, I haven't seen the after credits. I didn't know! Haha. I meant like, fuck there is after credits. Sorry for the poor communication, I even looked for it on UA-cam and couldn't find it
@@_zombie_queen_ ohhhh lol yea sorry, the after credits were great, and they had talks of a sequel a few years ago but i doubt it will ever happen. their movies are great.
@@TANK1xEMK lol, it was my bad. I still can’t find the clip!! I want to see the “what’s worse” plus I gave no context with my statement of the obvious. With my marvel watching I usually just watch everything till fade to black. It didn’t even cross my mind here. -
I wonder if these vampires tried decapitation or even being put through a wood chipper and a metal shredder would completely kill them. If Audrey tried those methods!
Not sure if you didn't mention due to spoilers but there's an extra scene at the end which I think is pretty dang good especially when you see who it is
nah that scene with derek suddenly appearing behind his friend made me jump clear cross my room hell with all that voodoo mess lmao
Looks like an awesome very well done vampire movie. Particularly since it was on such an incredibly small budget.
It was
All good horrors are underrated. I would prefer continuation of Afflicted and Midnight Mass, to explore the lore behind it more, than a mass produced crap like Insidious or Paranormal Activity.
First paranormal was great. Minus the ending. Insidious I didn't really watch.
I found Midnight mass from watching this channel. One of my favourite vampire shows in years. Really enjoyed it
What about the sun? You're telling me that wouldn't kill him if he stayed in it long enough?
The movie left a lot of questions unanswered. But I would guess based on what Audrey said is that there is no true way for them to die.
This is just speculation of course.
It is possible that pure self preservation would not allow it, like you can't just will yourself to stop breathing.
I think that was Audrey in those old pictures of the girl. That pic looks like it is from the late 1930s or 40s and Audrey looks like she was in her mid 20s, maybe a bit older than in the picture where she looks like she wasbin her late teens, putting her if I am right being turned in back in the mid 1940s, so she has been a vampire for around 80 years.
Perhaps if they tried primate blood, like monkey, chimpanzee, etc. that could had worked (but I doubt it). And of course there is the sheer pain.
In the original dracula novel sunlight does not kill him it just makes him weak
@@silverdays2909
True and in the original vampire mythology sunlight doesn't kill vampires it's just that vampires only hunt in the night because they just find it easier in the dark.
@@Raccon_Detective. yeah
Did you read the novel too?
Just did my own discussion video on this masterpiece. Had no idea what I had bought, I thought from the cover it was a zombie FF film. Boy was I surprised, VERY grateful to have it in my film collection. Should not be missed if you're a horror fan for sure. I'm assuming you left out the "real ending" on purpose. It's a twist you won't see coming.....so don't miss the credits of the film folks, the real ending is shown AFTER the credits begin.
Never heard of this movie. About 2 minutes into your video I paused it and watched the movie and it was really well done. Really cool addition to the found footage genre
I can't remember if it was a post credit scene or not exactly but I'm almost positive that it was and that you didn't mention it on purpose so I won't spoil it but definitely watch this one right to the end of the credits. Pretty sure that's what Audrey meant when she said "something worse"
Yes, there is a post credit scene, and it is correct, cliff is "something worse"
Werewolf?
@@k9vendettathewolfofmordor529 no, probably just a feral vamp
I uploaded the Post-Credit scene, feel free to check it out folks
I loved this movie, such a unique take and execution. Glad you discovered it. 💗
One of the best vamp movies out there at least for me ...underrated too
Great work and great videos as always Cogan. I love your lore videos on Vampires and other creatures etc. i found this review very interesting because i have seen found footage horror movies but i have not seen vampire found footage horror movies. This one seems very well done with great direction and planning. I might check it out sometime.
i really love this kind of vampires
Awesome! I asked for this a while back and I'm glad you did a video. I just wish there were more afflicted films. Can't wait to see what vampire content you cover next. P.S. Please do Supernatural...
YESSSS!!!! Finally made a video on this movie!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
If you really want to make vampirism unappealing, take away immortality. Killing people, drinking blood and NOT living forever: NOW being a vampire sucks.
This really adds a lot to depth to it especially since your Harry Potter werewolf video got me hooked, hope you can cover more and maybe try lost tapes since it’ll be interesting to see what you’ll think of the werewolf itself and maybe cover Skyrim and blood red sky or maybe 30 days of night as well
This is amazing, both the movie and your way of covering it
Thank youuuu algorithm!! You just got yourself a sub my man
This REALLY was a good movie. Thanks for the video, you even mentioned some things I missed!
Oh BTW, did you watch the post-credits sequence where Cliff comes back? He was turned as well.
Which I kind of hate because if every victim a vampire kills becomes a vampire they would have overrun the Earth by now, it makes no sense. They just wanted a neat scene at the end and didn't think about the implications of it.
@@johnburns2918 That's true! I can maybe understand if it goes by exchange blood for blood rules, if like, an accident happened with Cliff, and in the struggle, he got some of the infected blood in his mouth, but you're right, it is odd that it's simply via a single bite.
@@johnburns2918 I don’t think it’d be very hard for a vampire to ensure that those they feed on don’t come back. They could use their strength to decapitate/dismember the bodies after feeding if they were worried about creating more vampires.
A problem would arise if a vampire decided they wanted to purposely spread their condition though.
I think he did it on purpose so pple can go watch
@@johnburns2918 True, they could've done a Midnight Mass type of thing, where the vampire needs to feed his blood to the victim before they die.
I wonder if these vampires can be killed through dismemberment like in some mythologies. I love this take on vampires! Super cool video!
I dont understand. Just go to SUN :D ...they show his skin melting. And in the video he did not mentioned option to go to SUN.
Gods Sun is strongest killing weapon for evil
OMG i randomly stumble upon this channel and it has just got me so excited to c something that ima literally go watch this NOW!!!!.... after liking and subbing obviously 🙂Cool vid dude, the way u explained this was so good o7
Cliff turned into a vampire as well. is a post credit scene.
I love these vampire videos I watch every single one. One of if not my most favorite supernaturals.
Never seen this movie covered on UA-cam before. Great content
I remember recommending this one to u around the start of the channel 😀 I'm glad u enjoyed it as much as I did
I found this movie randomly but it was crazyyy good
Yes someone finally covering this amazing movie and plz cover wer it's actually a really good supernatural movie
So they cannot die. But when he was in the sun he was scored very badly. So will that actually kill them? They probably didnt want to kill off Derrick like that it wouldve been boring.
It probably could kill them? But I think the body would have an immediate reaction in order to protect itself, so unless they were able to be chained with something strong enough and left out in the sunlight, I don’t think it would be the easiest method to kill them.
Thanks for this one! I couldn't remember the name of this movie but liked this one. They did it very well and it works. Didn't know the actor's also wrote it and whatnot.
Love your content bro keep it up n if you ever run outta vampire stuff I’d love to see some demonology stuff
Dude, amazing
I love how this movie does a better job at setting up an good origin for a vampire superhero in almost every way compared to Morbius.
Wow! I'm shocked that I'm just learning about this film. It should be turned into a series. Thanks for the great explanation video! 👍🏾🧛🏾♂️ You should cover the film "Wer (2013)", being a fan of found footage horror films. 🐺
So underrated..no1 ever mentions this film..best found footage I’ve ever seen
This was great film. I enjoyed it very much so. Great review kind sir. Also could u cover Dylan Dog Dead of Night? Plenty of vampires and werewolves in tht one
Have you ever considered doing a video (or series of videos) about the vampires and creatures from the "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series" Netflix series? They're just different enough that I think people might find them interesting.
This movie is super good, I just saw it and I would say it's a 5/5 horror film :D
Thanks for the new movie bud I'm going to definitely watch it

The scenes where he goes feral in they did a good job on makeup or special effects and whatnot. Derek all vampired up looks really close to good ol' Nosferatu.

I didn't think you'd start the video off with an unnerving clip of the vampire looking right into the camera, so I guess I won't be sleeping tonight as *_that scared the absolute fuck out of me_*
It’s been awhile but I hope they do come out with a second film. It was amazing
Maybe you could include where to stream these movies. Sweet channel, one of my favorites to watch.

I want you to explore stake land I and II, Byzantium, dusk till dawn(movie and series), anime and kdrama named blood, captain kronos, blade in comics, Dracula 2 ascension, dracula 2000, the descent 1 &2
Not the descent 2 lol that movie is abysmal. First one is good though but they’re not vampires so probably won’t.
Chronicle and Cloverfield are my two favorite found footage movies.
After he killed his friend I thought that was the end but clicking on the video and realized I wasn't even halfway through, I don't usually like found footage movies but this one looks and sounds interesting
Great Video 👍. Make the World a Better Place.
you told the story far better than any found footage film ever could....
Holy shit, amazing

This was a great film
The fight scene with the Interpol police/SWAT-type guys was pretty cool.
Loved this movie since I first time years ago
Scientific based, disease related type vampire movies are hit or miss with me but you haven't steered me wrong yet. I've been trying to find where it is streaming for free but so far have had no luck. That looks good for it also but I just cannot afford to pay to see it right now...
I love both biological and supernatural interpretations of vampires if they're done well. To this day my favorite version is by far the strigoi from The Strain series, they're really cool in how they blend both modern science fiction and old folklore ideas together to create something really unique.
This is really interesting I would like to get another movie just to learn more about the vampires and if there really is some way to kill them.
I think you should check out the vampires in the anime Vampire Hunter D case to me not only is it some of the best vampires in all the fiction but some of the most powerful too.
Maaaannnnnnn i had to pause your vid and go watch that movie. On a simple 300k budget this great movie beats pretty much all those million dollar budget movies. Imagine if he had a 3 million dollar budget. It was very very good 👍 👌 👏 😊

There’s a specific vampire like movie I seen on a low budget website years ago that was actually really good. It was about two lovers going somewhere and running into this vampire like creature that was sensitive to any type of light. Including flood lights. This movie reminded me of it and I’d love to know the name if anyone can help me out with suggestions

Amazing film and a great horror movie
Dam this movie looks amazing have to watch it 😮
I've tried watching the movie several times it never could keep my attention it's such a slow moving movie I can't stay interested
About the immortal part - Hmm. Okay, I won't shame people for not knowing this as we all learn every day - The movie confirmed that you can indeed destroy them. Sun makes their tissues slowly melt away (skin, muscles, then bones). It is just a torture, so he haven't considered this.
Also one would have to be restrained for this. As otherwise instincts would cause a flight or fight response and they would survive by escaping automatically.
Thisssss isssss such a gooooooooood movie 🍿🍿🍿🎥🎥🎥
If he wanted to end it , he could have just stayed out in the sun .
I would imagine that would be like a person trying to drown themselves by holding their head underwater, at a certain point your body goes into self preservation mode. But yeah I suppose he could chain himself up at night so when the sun rises he can't escape, but judging by his strength this could be easier said than done
@@himynameis3664 or find a place where there is no shade and thus even if he does go into self preservation mode , it wont matter.
