I bought a cheap tackle box and drilled holes in the lid as my superworm pupation station. I just pop the whole thing inside an old cereal box to keep it dark
I breed my own dubia I started with 50 or 60 females 20 or 30 males and 500 nymphs I not got 89 females 40 males and 1000+ nymphs I've only had for about 7 months there doing great I didn't realise how fast the breed there my favourite breeders I used to breed crickets but the smelt terrible but no bad smell with dubias.
Great video man. By the way its hydrated bro lol but seriously great breeding video! I need to start breeding colony of superworms for my ackie and leopard geckos
I start my dubia roaches colony yesterday and I started mealworms about a month ago and crickets two species are brown house crickets and banded crickets which are more better less sounds and they live 2 times longer and have more potion then house crickets but only cons is they are smaller and I'm starting to breed superworms as well so yeah hopefully it goes well for me.
Why can't you see superworms breeding or melting? I see that all the time .... you can always catch a molt from larva to pupae. Also, I raise bothe these and several other feeders. Good video!
I actually breed Mealworms, Superworms, and Dubias. My superworms are taking forever to go from pupae to beetle so I only have 1 beetle so far. My mealworms are moving faster, I just started those with 100ct mealworms, I used them as feeders and the lucky ones that pupated before they got fed to the Leopard gecko got separated out. Just waiting on beetles now. Dubias are doing poorly because I wanted to see which ones were pregnant and so on. You can lightly press their abdomen and see part of the egg sac thing. So tomorrow I’m going to buy some more adult females and start those again since I finally figured everything out. Next thing I want to do is the Turkistan roaches. I keep all my breeders in my bedroom and they don’t stink or anything. If you feed them oranges they make your room smell like oranges
Should happen any time now then. Check out our video of how to breed them and see if your missing anything also we have a video about dubia roach breeding mistakes . See if that helps
Cheers buddy. Putting this video together really made me thing about what's better. I'm for sure going to be putting more effort into dubia roaches now
Lobster roaches will out breed dubias by at least 10 to 1. NOTICE; you must grease the top two inches of the inside of our breeding container for lobsters because they are one of only a few breed of roaches that can climb smooth surfaces. Turkistan roaches are close to as fast as lobsters and can't climb smooth surfaces. Both work great for reps, ducks and chickens. I like turks a bit better because they can't climb smooth surfaces.

That's amazing progress . Check out one of my latest videos about the cricket breeding tho. I've found a way to kill off the smell

It really does save a fortune and well worth it
Thank you man great channel and info!
Thanks
I have a colony of both and i must say, dubias are easy but it takes so long for them to get going (specially if you buy a small amount)
Hi, I raise Superworms and mealworms. I do not like the beetles but they make free food for our scale babies. Thank you for your videos.
Better then hissing roaches . They escape
❤
Interesting.
The good image of your friend is really fresh and interesting. Very good
I breed mealworms. I got about 100 from a bait shop in 2017, so it's been going since then, and I use them for fish bait and chicken treats.
Great info and if l had animals that ate these l would certainly setup a breeding colony of them.
Thank you

Cool do you plan on selling? I am gonna start dubia colony.
How long does it take for medium size roaches to breed with average temperatures!I’ve just ordered ten so was thinking of breeding them?
Bsf is more powerfull?? Speed and weight ?
I breed Dubias, started with Red Runners, but some always escaped so i stopped and switched to Dubias to feed my Tarantula Collection.
Hi, I love your videos and I have learned so much from them. have you ever tried breeding locusts? I’ve heard they are great food for reptiles.
I've breed them before . I can do a video about them
NORTHERN EXOTICS thank you! Cheers!

Turkistan roaches are cool but I found they escaped loads haha especially the babies
I hate Turkistan I don’t know why they just look disgusting for me I don hold dubias meal worms and super worms I’m just terrified of turkistans
I think the word you was looking for was ‘moist’ or ‘hydrated’ 😂
Just ordered more breeding stock of dubias this morning
Amazing. Do you breed dubias then?
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS working on it. Where I'm from it's hard for me to get Dubias so I started with medium size and now they're large but not producing.
How long have they been adults?
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS About 2 months

How about a hornworm colony
Should’ve also compared crickets with these two

I'm doing both :P
So do i. It's fasinating
Will be ordering roaches tomorrow mate not for breeding just for feeders then see if my gecko will eat them she should do she is a bit picky
They should love them . Took mine all of about 30 seconds looking at them the first time they saw them then they smashed them first time
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS thanks mate
That might be a little expensive. Because if you buy online you would have to constantly pay shipping which is expensive.
I'm breeding both

Ngl super worms are slightly cheaper cuz u don't need a hearmat
Superworm
I think dubias are easier
hydrated
Dubia roaches
I do both but much prefer dubias
I haven't had much luck with super worms.
They can be tricky. I struggled for so long with raising the babies once they hatched. What do you struggle with
