      Auditors, God bless them, do not complete Auditor Academy. So they as a whole bring personally honed skills. Where cops stick to their training, rigidly, auditors are loose and maverick in their approach. Maybe soon we will see an A.I. type Cyrano De Bergerac earpiece for responding to these numpties.

      A lot of auditors/ public fall for the trick of asking a cop a question, so the cop counter asks a question, to distract from answering the question posed by the auditor /public, and the auditor/public answers that question, succeeding the deflection.

    When police officers have made a pre-judgement on the actions of auditors/drone pilots, it's like the old saying; "I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with facts." Cops always confirm the old saying: Light travels faster than sound. That is why so many appear intelligent until you hear them speak. No matter the country, corrupt police are all the same. They bark unlawful orders at members of the public conducting legal and lawful activities with the belief that those orders have merit. They are only put in place when those being bullied demonstrate a greater knowledge of the laws than the police.

      @@n700rat VLOS is the name of this requirement but most people don’t understand what the CAA means by that, including this drone officer.
      It’s all about knowing where the drone is and which way it’s pointing. You can do this without staring at the sky 100% of the time, if you turn your back to talk to someone the drone is not going to dart off across the sky.
      It’s a moot point anyway. He’d just taken off, the drone was overhead ascending between the trees. Not the best place to take off, but if you’re doing a quick up and down flight it’s not a problem.

      The laws of England and Wales - not necessarily the whole UK - grant a police officer the right to stop anyone for questioning. That stop is what in US is called detention and leaving is not an option. Naturally, members of the public can refuse to answer questions, but imho that is unwise if the encounter is friendly.

I also think I'm going to put blue or red tape on it to make it easier to have VLOS. Then cops can't use that as an excuse either.
    I don't recommend going to the police station announcing that you're going to fly a drone. Also I wouldn't recommend admitting to flying it or even telling that you have a drone. This could have gone a lot worse, but it makes good content.

    27:00 Police cannot legally detain anyone outside of arrest except in three specific circumstances. Breach of the peace, stop and search and when a property is being search. That's from a barrister (Iain Gould) so that's the law. They can ask people to wait or stay and sheeple will do so. But if someone wants to walk away the police cannot grab that person.
    The police would have to make an arrest to lawfully detain someone who wanted to walk away. But that's paper work and admin even if the person is de-arrested within minutes. And constables hate paperwork. Mainly because their understanding of spelling and grammar is atrocious.

    The issue I see here is auditors pushing current drone legislation to the limits of laws. The way drone legislation is changing constantly I can only see it meaning more restrictions in the future.

    • @grahamhgt6468
      @grahamhgt6468 10 місяців тому +1

      Agreed, auditors are entertaining I guess but they're not doing drone hobbyists any favours by flying over police stations and law courts, etc

    • @ianhill4585
      @ianhill4585 9 місяців тому

      That would entail curbing a lawful past time, what police are doing is trying to use the drone legislation to ID auditors, throw spurious accusations and try to force the operator to ID. It's the same underhand tactic as throwing bogus section 50's to force ID.

  • @UncleMarty

    It kind of drives me insane when people say "You did this to get a reaction". DUH. The whole point of auditing is to get a reaction BUT, it's to get GOOD reactions, not dopey people who can't mind their own business, tyrants and cops with bad attitudes. Until audit videos all have good reactions then its clear that using a damn camera in public is still taboo in some peoples brains. There are 8 billion people on this planet, most of them with phones with cameras, an estimated 1 billion surveillance cameras. The UK is the most surveilled country on the planet.
    Kind of hard to believe that peoples attitudes to cameras are still the way they are, but also understandable considering how fast tech has evolved.
    Regardless, thanks to DJ and all the other great auditors that go out there an educate politely so the rest of us dont have to :)
