As a gramma my view is that the children are bearing the sacrifices when both parents work.

My husband didn't really want me to stay at home because we couldn't afford it. He had some debt we had to get rid of. He saw me being miserable, having no energy at home, and my health was deteriorating. He started making more money, and began to come around to the idea of me being home. Now, he really likes having me home because we are all so much happier. There are lots of things we can't afford, but it's not as important as what we already have.

We have 7 children also...and yes! The struggle is the same in the marriage department. We have to absolutely work to prioritize us. When the kids are in bed we can have alone time. Our oldest is 15 now and we have another teen in the house so we get to leave sometimes to get food or whatnot and can leave the rest until we come back. We count any time alone as “alone time” 😂 We make the most of it all. Married 18 years and going strong. The Lord is indeed faithful!

That's smart to take any time alone as an opportunity to focus on your marriage.

My husband and I were working so much and couldn’t afford a babysitter for 6 kids. We had to work opposite schedules and we never saw each other. Finally my husband and I prayed about it and he told me to stay home. Believe it or not we save money now that I’m home (and our relationship) because we have time to budget and meal plan together.

Except for the fact that they block people who share the real gospel on their channel. Why would they do that? Because they are false Christians, which the Bible warns about. The gospel is, that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. Our sins are paid for. Jesus dead and buried and in the 3rd day GOD Raised him from the dead. According to the scriptures. If we believe this, GOD will also Raise our mortal bodies. It is A FREE GiFT! NOT of Works lest anyone should boast. ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD. Our flesh still sins. It always will. But Jesus came to give Life more abundantly. ( Eternal Life). Not like this temporary life! ( 2Cor 4:18). Once we believe we are Sealed with the Promise of the Holy Spirit of God. 1Cor 3:16- We are the Temple of God. He dwells in us! That is His Spirit! John 4:24- GOD IS A SPIRIT,
And we MUST worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
1Tim 2:5- There is ONE GOD and One Mediator between GOD and men, the man Christ Jesus.
Col 2::9- For IN him dwelleth all the Fulness of the Godhead bodily. God who is A Spirit was in the man, Jesus, ( the mediator).
2Cor 5:19- GOD WAS IN Christ Reconciling the world unto Himself.
Now therefore there is NO CONDEMNATION to those IN Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh ( our flesh profits nothing, so the works we do in the flesh are as filthy rags) but walk after the Spirit ( we now are considered IN the Spirit of God, because He is IN us, and it’s HIS righteousness that He accepts, we don’t have our own). So someone who claims to be giving their life to God, doing works, is actually NOT In Christ. Because they haven’t realized that their flesh cannot please God. But it’s the heart.
Romans 8,9. We need to humble ourselves realizing that it’s Christ’s works that Saves. Not our own. HE DID IT FOR US.
IT IS FINISHED. IT IS A FREE GIFT! 🎁 Peace.

All that you typed is true. Yet there is also, you will know them by their fruits, and faith without works is dead.

I’m so excited to find your channel! I’m a mostly stay at home mom (part time military) I’m pregnant with number 5 and we bought 2 acres last summer as our mini homestead, though we may eventually upgrade. I was homeschooling but took a break this year because I was really struggling to be a consistent homeschooling mom and a homemaker. I’m going to work really hard the rest of this school year and through the summer to prove to myself and to my husband that I can do all these things that my heart and my husband desires! I feel like I just found a friend. We moved during the Covid pandemic and haven’t really had a chance to meet many people and no chance to make friends.

None of us can do it all. I realized I can do homemaking well if I do it full time, but then homeschooling will suffer....and vice versa. The truth is something has to give. I find it best to focus on being the best wife, mother, and homemaker as I can be, but to only do the basics in homesteading. I only do the bare minimum in homeschooling. I am also comfortable hiring out some of the tasks that we can afford. Noone can do it all

Yes, my husband is the anchor for my kite ❤ Lol!!
He never saw my visions until the shamdemic and I told him to stop watching the news and watch prepping and homesteading. It truly changed my marriage.
He really helps now and listens to my ideas. He doesn't tell me NO!! anymore but he does say "That's a good idea, but let's wait till next year and build the fences first...." LMAO!!
Its good to have a dreamer AND a pragmatist, even if it's a bit frustrating at first.
You DO need to "prove" that you're willing and capable to manage the projects you have in front of you BEFORE taking on more. It takes time and ingenuity and knowledge and skills. I like to work on learning and building new ideas over the winter so when spring comes, we are ready.
Once you find the groove, the magic starts to happen.
Gardening teaches you to be patient and wait on the Lord😊

Felicia Allen, please know that serving the Lord, doesn’t mean doing works in our flesh. Our flesh is death. It’s sin which brings death. Our life here is temporary, and cannot please God. The only way to Please God is to be found IN Him having not your own righteousness. When we believe what Jesus did for us, and GOD Raising him from the dead, according to the scriptures, we are given the Spirit to dwell in us. And God doesn’t look at our flesh anymore. It’s His righteousness IN us that He sees. Our Sins are forgiven as soon as we believe! If we try to get ourselves to heaven by our good works, that is trying to go our own way. But Jesus is the Way! It’s His Works we need. His righteousness! Our flesh profits nothing!
These people look great. And like they’re living a good life in Gods eyes, but I promise you, there is no such thing in the flesh!! Our flesh cannot please God! (Romans 8,9. Just our belief. Trust IN Gods works! He did it for you!! The only reason we are still here is to share the message of God. You can do that with your child! Our sins have been forgotten! The only sin not Forgiven is UNBELIEF.
Why? Because you need to have Gods Spirit In you to have Eternal Life. Because God Is Eternal!! Once we believe, we ARE Given His Eternal Spirit, and We Are the Tempal of God. He will NEVER LEAVE us or FORSAKE us!! Greater Is He that is IN you than he who is in the world. Just have Faith in Jesus and you ARE SAVED right Now!!! No works of your flesh could ever get you to heaven. Only the Price Jesus Paid for you! Don’t deny the Price He Already Paid For You, by trying to do it yourself! Just Simply Believe the Gospel of your Salvation and be Saved!! 🎁 It is A FREE GIFT! 🎁 IT IS FINISHED!!
Our families will always have problems in this world. Sicknesses. This world is not Gods kingdom. These people can act like they are Godly, but they’re fake. Because this world can Only bring about sin and death. But Gods Kingdom is Eternal. And it’s Peace. And brings Life! ❤️ 🌈 🐑

I had started watching this channel recently and I was eager to hear more from Adam's side of this amazing family. I had to pause during watching this episode to comment that I absolutely adore the fact that you love Dr. Who, Adam. I watched it with my Dad when I was younger, then I started watching it as an adult when the new episodes started coming out and I got my eldest son into it as well. I LOVE Matt Smith to the point that I have a Tardis/Dr. Who tattoo. We have been blessed to use my Husband and my love of all things nerdy to help stay connected with our three boys as they grew up. We all had similar interests and they would leave spending time with their friends because "It's time to game with my parents" on the weekends. That is an amazing blessing for us.

Being a born again Christian I was so very surprised when nearly 25 years ago I started watching the homesteading channels that most of the folk were Christian and very much practiced their faith. I originally started watching to see if everyone did things on the homestead the same way. I can tell you in all honesty that folk all over the world do things almost the same way on the homestead. Again I thank you. God Bless Joe Scott

You both were so honest and upfront on everything and it was wonderful to hear as a Christian, as it seems sometimes people are so worried with the image that they can’t admit to their flaws/past which is what glorifies God in the change and growth that happens. I understand the fear after a pregnancy loss, as I lost our first child, after a healthy ultrasound. My next pregnancy I was so worried for the first trimester that I felt like I couldn’t even enjoy it because I analyzed every symptom. Until God took that burden from me and honestly it was soo much better after that.
Also love that you’re a whovian, we have a betta fish and any time it dies it reincarnates to the next doctor.

Q: How do you ensure you have couple time with 7 children?
A: Couple time is how they got the 7 children. There's plenty of opportunity for more couple time check out the Bates family.

Also Jess is a wonderful mother and raising the children in a Godly environment, She is such a hard worker and if she was working their wouldn’t be home cooked meals on the table every night. Also childcare would cost a fortune if she were to be working. Also I think Jesus intended the wife to be home. I know it’s hard to live off one income but if possible so rewarding❤️Love you guys❤️

I'm female and work full time and my husband stayed home and raised our son while I worked and went to school. It works for our family, and I will always be the primary income earner even when we move into our country home and work towards making our own version of a homestead. It may be untraditional but it works. We're also not religious so the role of a man and woman in the eyes of whoever wrote the bible doesn't concern us. What matters is who we are.as individuals, as partners, as parents, and that we treat everyone with kindness, compassion, respect, and understanding, just as we wish people to be towards us and our son. That's how he was raised and how he approaches the world around him.

Hi Jessica and Adam, I just watched your video on Q and A from December 2022. Now I know WHO Adam really is! I wasn’t sure if he was Adam or if he was one of the boys. Now I know!
I have just started following you and have been busy every day doing some sort of Canning, shopping, packaging food for the freezer or just about anything I am physically able to do. I am 62 years old and a disabled widow. My brother lives with me in my Itty Bitty Homestead! I live in Western Washington about 3 hours NW of Acre Homestead. That’s near Seattle but not very close. Thank the Lord for that! All the traffic and people just keeps getting worse every year. I live in a small town and the street I live on has only got 8 homes. Nice & cozy. I was going to have a wonderful garden this year with my brother but the plans fell through due to more surgeries for me and more coming up for my brother. Getting old is getting tough. However, I am still planning on having a garden with raised beds in my front yard next year. I have it planned out in my head and hope that The Lord will bring it to fruition. It won’t be anything like the size of your farm but there are too many restrictions on my little plot of land. Can’t have farm animals of any kind. Dogs and cats is it.
I have been watching the program of doing just a bit of something everyday. I’m not registered or signed up or whatever is necessary but I have been doing food preservation daily this August. It has been great! It takes my mind off difficult times and makes me feel so happy when I get things accomplished. If I didn’t do this stuff, I’d probably just be sitting and filling my head with all the terrible stuff on tv. It’s just not worth watching anymore!
I wanted to say that I think your family and other homesteader families are so amazing! The way the children are being raised is so good. Having a family and raising children following the Love of Jesus Christ is needed so much in this world. I watched when your husband said that there were times when you were criticized about having so many children, and having your UA-cam channel and living the way that you do. I like what your husband said about this, being your life and not theirs. I know that is hard to hear things from people that don’t understand what your goals are but please don’t let that get you down. Our place here on earth is not to criticize, but to complement each other. I have no right to complain about what you do or what your beliefs are or how many children you have or anything else. I think that it is wonderful that you have such a beautiful family and if you choose to have more children after your beautiful daughter, I hope everything works out just wonderful for you all! Besides, I don’t see you out on the streets, begging for money, or your kids, wearing dirty clothes or your house, being a mess or kids, missing meals or being neglected or abused, I see a large, happy respectable family. I have three daughters and one stepson that are all grown And in their 40s now. Life was not easy on me most of the time banging a single parent. Or at least feeling like I was a single parent because I didn’t have the help and didn’t know the Lord the way that I know him now. My children didn’t turn out the way that I had hoped and they don’t live near me any longer so I don’t get to see my five grandsons. That’s difficult since I raised to First three grandchildren myself for the most part. If I live near you and Ohio, the only thing I would do is to do some thing that might be able to help you out, whether it is watching the younger kids, so that you and Adam could do something together alone or maybe just sleep and get yourself some well-deserved rest. I think that you and Adam are doing a great job. I’ve been watching back-to-back videos that you and some other homesteaders have been putting out. It makes me feel happy and like there may still be a future for America. seeing the way that your family works so well together is truly amazing and I think a lot of parents need to watch you and follow by your examples. I know this is very long and I apologize in advance that I just wanted you to know that not everybody criticizes or complains, I just want to say thank you for raising such a wonderful family and getting back to the way life should be. Please take care of yourselves and know that God will always be there for you, and good times or bad times you can always count on Him.
Please give your family my best regards. Thank you kindly, Jilli

I’m very much like you Jessica and my husband is like Adam, he tries to show me what realistic and what’s not! Also agree with Adam in that family time is important, the children are only young for a moment and that moments soon gone and time will come that you get to be able to do all the extra projects. Children are a blessing as parents it’s our jobs to give them roots and wings and we can only do that by being present with them xxx

You two are adorable! This is the first time I’ve seen you both as I just recently found you! A modern Adam/Adam and Eve/Jessica for real. ❤️ I know that this is how the Lord designed us to live. It is normal and natural SO refreshing to see. It takes bravery and a staunch position to live your life this way. Just be glad he’s not a traveling prophet or apostle or something. 😂😂😂 That’s why we women STILL commune and get things done...we sat around the fire and DID IT ALL while the men were gathering. I love your example of team work and keeping it real.. Jessica, you are the sweetest and calmest Mama. You always approach your day with love and it shows in how your kids respond and thrive. Kudos to you both! You are building a wonderful life, full of so many precious memories and time WELL SPENT. ❤️🏡💪🏼

Love this and your hopes for your children of growing up and wanting to love the Lord, do what he wants for their life, etc we can hope for more but unless it’s what the Lord wants for them what we want is not that important. That is my prayer for my girls, sil, grandchildren and anyone else down the line in our family. I pray that they will find, experience and love the Lord all of their lives and for us to be great examples to those around us. My daughter has just introduced me to your vids and I have really enjoyed them though I am not a homesteader, prepper, etc Hope your had a great Thanksgiving. 🦃🍂🍁🌻

On the subject of resentment. I really wanted to get rid of our carpet and my husband wasn't really interested. I ripped out all the carpet when my husband was on a fishing trip with his friends for the weekend. For some reason I thought having some of it already done would get him on board.
    Yeah, don't do that. 🤣
It's funny (to me) now but at the time, not so much.

You two seem kind of like my wife and I.. We have combined 7 kids total and the youngest is 6 and the oldest is 33, we are blended with adopted. I am in a prepper state of mind, always have been since growing up we had some very lean times while I was growing up, my wife has not been so much , that is until recently. Now she more or less sees what I see and agrees with me though she is shocked at times on what I haul home or at least at the amount I bring home. My goal is for the long haul, not for 1 year. I also plan on helping my family and if possible my neighbors, it just depends on how bad things get and for how long. I would rather have it and not need it, as to need it and not have it.
