    My N of 1
During the extreme lockdown here in the Philippines, January 2021 I was obese type 2, 94Kg/207lbs, (I’m only 5’6”) with pre-diabetes and high blood pressure. I was suffering from metabolic syndrome. I understood the comorbidity I had as a 57 year old would greatly affect me if I contracted the Rona. I had to lose fat, reverse hypertension, reverse my NAFLD and reduce my HbA1c.
Sitting in my armchair at the beginning of lockdown I saw that the keto/ketovore/carnivore diet claimed it could ‘cure’ my ailments. I watched a bunch of videos and tried to understand the linked papers supporting the claims. End result was that it simply made a lot of sense to me.
After procrastinating for a couple of weeks I saw a video by Ken D Berry, MD where he said ‘Just do it’! … so I did 🤓
8 months later, whilst still sitting in my armchair (most of the time). I had lost the 30kg/66lbs of fat that was required to get me down to a ‘normal’ BMI, I GREATLY improved my blood pressure to the point it raised my wife’s eyebrows, she’s a First Responder. My blood sugar was well back in to the ‘normal’ range and I vastly reduced inflammation.
I also reversed IBS that had controlled my life for 40 years (I lost jobs because of it), got rid of decades long debilitating heartburn, my Testosterone went up drastically and I stopped snoring … my wife is happy 🤓 I was ‘foggy’ & forgetful, I sometimes also slurred my words and forgot what I was talking about mid sentence, possible early stage MCI ? This has completely reversed! Undiagnosed but recognised by my family I got out of a bad case of lockdown depression.
A few months ago I further decided to cut out most vegetables from my meat heavy Keto WOE, only adding on occasion a little onion, garlic, green peppers and tomato for some flavour… always salting to taste. Improvements are continuing with a pace with better mental health, blood markers, skin conditions (skin tags have also disappeared) etc.
Most recently I have noticed pain improving in my back associated with osteoporosis in my lower spine. I don’t sweat like I did earlier in life, slimmer or overweight. Also I am using old prescription glasses as I can see through them better, eye floaters are disappearing… possible eyesight improvements?
Simply eating nutrient dense meat, HEAVY in animal fat, eggs, seafood, salmon … single ingredient real food is all it took …
Whilst cutting out processed food, sugar/carbohydrates and seed/‘vegetable’ oils and most dairy.
We THRIVE when eating our evolved, species specific Proper Human Diet along with some intermittent fasting to mimic the way our ancestors survived.
I’m sure there are thousands upon thousands of people that have similar anecdotal stories to tell … Please tell them … get the message out there!

Wow what a beautiful story! Thank you for sharing and giving beginners HOPE.
I found over time that tomatoes and peppers which I also used as flavor enhancers would trigger old arthritis pains periodically, so I’ve ended up tossing them out.
Now I’m experimenting with my coffee and cream. The cream may be my next throw away.
Your journey (and mine) are testimonies to the faithfulness of Dr Berry and Dr Westman as they courageously battle the big Food, big Pharma industries which have polluted the practice of medicine. I enjoyed hearing your inspiring message.

I’m a colon cancer survivor of over 2 years now. I am still in the every 4 month check up phase and I just had one. Been 98% carnivore most of the time. A little fruit and local honey. Perfect results.
My oncologist said I’m doing great and prescribed the Mediterranean diet. I just smiled and shook my head. I couldn’t believe he was telling a person with NO colon to eat this way. Nuts, seeds and veggies wreck havoc on me. They look the same coming out as going in and hurt like hell so I for one KNOW they are doing nothing for us. I’m a walking experiment.
Can’t wait for the final appointment when I can advise HIM on what should be advised to eat.

Talking to them about the information you've found could mean they don't recommend the wrong thing to other people who might then suffer because of it. Let them know what you've found, who you heard it from, and if possible give them a copy of the studies that prove it (either physical or digital)

@@jcmorgan26 you cant win them with studies, studies are a clusterfuck of their own. they recommend the mediterranean diet because people there have the highest life expectancy. no study will counter that though (and also fact). just that those metastduies and correlations dont have to be because of the mediterranean diet. culture, sun-exposure, fish, how clean is their fish, air-quality, etc. might also play a role. thats why most studies (which are metastudies) are useless. they dont isolate correlations so they simply CANT make conclusions. just helpful for educated guesses.

In January of 1992 I was 18 years old. I thought a calorie was a calorie. My Aunt gave me an old, weathered paperback copy of Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution. My Mom and I tried it together. This was before any frankenfoods were available. I remember making jello and whipping our own cream for dessert. We lost a lot of weight. Through the years restricting carbs has been the only way I’ve been able lose any large amounts of weight.

Carnivore has healed so much for me! I started off carnivore in hopes to reverse my fibrocystic breast masses that have built up over 6 years eating half a dry skinless chicken breast piece a day with half cup of broccoli and little bit of wheat noodles. We are told don’t eat very much meat- so the world is almost vegan just about. I would eat red canbbage too- cooked it and ate cabbage about 3 times a week. That was about it. So I was mainly chicken, broccoli, and little wheat noodles. So from age 40-46 I started getting all that “aging” health issue mess- and the fibrocystic breast “disease” started and kept building up! When I hit age 46 I was done with it! The fibrocystic masses were getting me scares- and I started getting huge painful breast cysts too! One was around 2” long and 1” wide! Docs would say, “we don’t know what causes fibrocystic breasts disease” and “fibrocystic breasts is now normal because everyone is getting it” and “fibrocystic breast could turn into cancer” and “there is nothing you can do for fibrocystic breasts” and “diet doesn’t cause fibrocystic breasts!” I was gaining weight too and by summer of 2022 I hit perimenopause at age 46 and got every symptom you could think of. My joints were hurting too, no sleep at night, dizzy at times, it was ridiculous! I know it had to be diet! Little did I know that all the other health issues I had all my life, in addition to this mess listed above, was all due to diet!
I went searching online and found the truth of my fibrocystic problem! Found out cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and asparagus) are all cruciferous veggies that block natural iodine absorption found in foods! And if you become depleted in iodine it messes up your thyroid which controls all- even hormones! And all organs need iodine including breasts! They swell if you are deficient! And I read these cruciferous veggies can cause cancer due to lack of iodine in body since they block absorption! Bingo! We are all being told to eat cruciferous veggies, that they can prevent cancer, and to eat lots of it including broccoli!! But in fact they are causing cancer and I truly feel it is causing all the fibrocystic breast cases that have been escalating lately that we are seeing! When I post about this and ladies write back saying they too had fibrocystic breasts, I ask, “do you eat cruciferous veggies, especially broccoli” and they all have said, “YES!”
I did more research and found carnivore! I Jumped right in! In 6-8 weeks I lost 45 pounds! My perimenopause reversed! In fact don’t even get PMS symptoms and my cycle is perfectly paced! And so much more reversed that I started writing it down! And yes, my fibrocystic breast masses shrank!
I share my progress because I want people to see how carnivore can heal so much and most of these things are commonly healed for many, not just me! I want to help and this is how I do- by sharing. No I am not paid to do this, I just want to help people see and be aware of what carnivore can do!
I do update this list as I have been on carnivore (more lion diet version) for 1 year and 4 months now. I feel this has helped so many decide if they should try carnivore. I always say go watch Dr. Baker, Dr. Chaffee, and Dr. Berry- my three most favorite doctors. They are truly amazing! I call them my carnivore doctors! ☺️
    * No more perimenopause- completely reversed!
*Period cycles all timed perfect with 4 week intervals. And no PMS symptoms, but only the actual menstrual cycle itself!
    *No more night sweats
*No more waking every 2 hours at night!
*It used to take me 20 minutes or longer to fall asleep at night when I would first go to bed at night- before carnivore. Now it takes like a minute or less. Haven’t noticed since I am out fast!
    *No more life long eczema
*No more cold hands (may have been Reynold’s disease, never diagnosed.)
*No more cold body temp in general! Used to feel like a reptile - only warm in texas sun. (may have been Raynaud’s disease, never diagnosed.)
*No more IBS symptoms (gas, bloating, stomach pain, constipation, diarrhea)
*No more feeling low energy by 12pm and zombie by 4pm
*No more purple looking hands in winter (may have been Raynaud’s disease, never diagnosed.)
    *No more brain fog
*No more arthritis that I felt in hands, knees, and hips- or elbows
*used to have sore hips when sleeping on my side. No more!
*Lost 45+ pounds from former baby weight and peri menopause weight.
*Always had 20/20 vision with slight stigmatism- but in March doctor said my stigmatism is reversing!
*Don’t sunburn as easily anymore and tan well.
*Wrinkles around eyes seem to be much less. I am 47 and look like I am in early 30’s.
*Gums look super healthy. Dentist seems irritated as my teeth are not dirty when cleaning every six months. Think they know they won’t make money off me.
*No more sore chest from monthly periods- no swelling feeling of fullness or discomfort that prevented me from sleeping on my stomach. Now I sleep every night on my stomach!
*Fibrocystic Breast issues reversing! Almost all gone after 6 years of buildup!
*no cravings unless they are for meat
*no more angina symptoms before a period- which started about 3 years ago.
*No more feeling weak like almost passing out and dizzy around ovulation and periods when walking around.
    * no more fingers swelling- that started a few years ago- rings kept being tight- is pattern I noticed. One ring I had resized larger and it’s super loose now. Will have to resize smaller.
*feel stronger- now lifting barbells not just hands weights. Dr. Baker said since I am 46, and 5’7” at 122lbs- need more resistance training to add more muscle weight. . So bought a 47lb barbell off Amazon and have 90 extra pounds added to it. Will continue to progress with that.
*Before carnivore- i had started growing grey hairs in one of my eyebrows, few hairs at a time, but no grey in my blonde hair yet - but assumed it was coming. Now on carnivore I have had no new grey hairs growing in eye brows and still no grey hair in my natural blonde hair. And in the sun it gets super light highlights.
    * no more body odor!
    * I used to get a little anxiety with large crowds- like if attending special events- but since on carnivore I don’t get it that much.
*I was a bit OCD before carnivore, but so much more relaxed so barely like that.
    * I was a relaxed person before, but somehow am even more relaxed and never stress about things.
*Since I was a young child my sense of smell has been terrible. But not even a month in on carnivore my sense of smell has gone crazy! I smell things even far away! Amazing!
*no more allergies! I was allergic to cedar and oak pollens- and mold- but since carnivore I am no longer reacting to those outdoor pollens which is amazing!
    * I have had no more issues from ear wax build up. Had it twice after having kids and docs would say it was a hormonal problem. Carnivore cured that too!
*Veins in my arms look healthier. They were almost invisible before.
*Legs no longer hurt on longer road trips or plane rides!
*I used to get a popping sounds in my right shoulder when lifting weights. Was probably a pulled ligament. That is now gone!
*I have been lactose intolerant since I was a kid, and I feel my nails are a bit stronger than before. They do break if I catch them on things but I feel they are getting stronger on carnivore.
*My teeth look more white on carnivore.
*My blood pressure has improved on carnivore. 6 years before carnivore up to starting carnivore my blood pressure was increasing. Now on carnivore it is back to normal like when I was younger. Last reading it was 100/75 which is awesome!
*i used to get eye twitches in my eye lids, but that is gone.
    * at times when trying to fall asleep I would close my eyes and at times felt dizzy like falling feeling or spinning. But haven’t has that since I have been on carnivore for 12 months.
*the skin on the heals of my feet are no longer cracked and dry!
*little leak from sneezing or coughing that ladies get from estrogen dominance is gone on carnivore! Hormones balanced so no more estrogen dominance!
*The top inner corner of both my larger toes have felt a little numb for years. Never had it diagnosed. But being 1 year on carnivore I no longer feel that numbness! My nerves have healed in that spot on both toes! Crazy!
*My slightly receding gums behind my center bottom front teeth have rebuilt so gums all over are super healthy! I have flossed daily for years, but gums look even healthier!
*my skin on my face isn’t as oily as it used to be.
*My hair used to be super oily if not washed daily, but carnivore has regulated my hair so I can now go days without having to wash it- doesn’t get oily after one day like before! (Newest update added!)
So there you go! ☺️ I hope this helps people on their journey to fins out what works for them! Carnivore is working for everyone that tries. Go watch Dr. Baker, Dr. Chaffee, and Dr. Berry! And go visit Kerry’s channel at Homesteadhow! We love him too! ☺️

excellent. Aside from the veggies causing the cancer, cancer feeds on sugar. Cut the veggies and the sugar. I don't have nearly all these issues. I have joint pain, back pain, hoshimoto's (Thyroid) and type 1 diabetes. I doubt the type 1 will be cured, but I'm hoping for the rest. I'm going for BBB+E (Beef, bacon, butter and eggs), of course I have venison and chicken as well, but zero carbs going forward starting from dinner last night. For me, the biggest difference between carnivore and keto is that carnivore doesn’t require willpower on an ongoing basis like keto does. The cravings are completely gone, and I have no desire to go off program. I also feel a bit better without the veggies compared to keto, but the fact that I’m not continuously tempted to have a “cheat day” on carnivore like I was on keto gives me a lot of hope for being able to maintain it long term. I’m down 60 lbs and 6” so far since August (I spent 2 months of tapering down through LCHF and keto from the SAD, carnivore since October). My chronic fatigue is gone, I feel incredible, and I have Drs. Berry and Chaffee to thank for convincing me to take the carnivore plunge.

I just had another set of labs done at 6 months and stellar. I eat salt, real butter, and all the protein I can eat, drink only water and black coffee and feel amazing. April 28th will be a year since I started my lifestyle change. I noticed the Berberine helped with cravings and seemed to kick start weight loss if i stalled. I don't know why but its what i observed. Looking at research on Berberine, seems its a natural 'metformin' - maybe try the Berberine for a couple months and judge for yourself (?) I can do that since I’m 74 and 3 days old 😂) I had my next meal at 3pm (chicken breast from a chicken I’d roasted plus crispy streaky bacon). Didn’t eat for the rest of the day!!!! Your reference to deer made me think of living on the ranch. They grew corn and grains to pile up and ferment to make silage for the cattle and sheep. Young deer would line up to eat this silage and they would crap themselves to death all the while gorging on this silage. Yet the older deer were always seen out in the fields browsing on the remnants of the harvested fields, baled hay or in the timber. Seemed a fitting metaphor for what humans are doing.

As a biologist with interests in evolution and ecology, I appreciate Dr. Berry's evolutionary approach to things. In my opinion, a solid background in science grounds a perspective and gets rid of lots of, in Ken Berry's words, "foolishness". Even before I went low carb I saw lots of foolishness in the modern food and medical systems.
Since I have been very active most of my life, I have been able to eat a mixed diet, though I have mostly eaten whole foods and have not eaten much junk food. I was always healthy. In my late 50's I went low carb to fix high blood pressure, and it worked. I got off the one medication I was on. I have my brother to thank as he told me how it helped him. I think I was just beginning to get insulin sensitive even though my blood glucose was always excellent. Recently I heard Dr. Berry give an excellent short talk about the difference in primary and secondary causes of blood pressure. It provided lots of clarity and provided a very good starting point to fix things. I don't understand how, as a person who had high blood pressure, why I didn't hear this before. It makes me even more irritated with modern health system.
My advice is to be both open minded and sceptical. When I see influencers flit from one thing to another, focusing on the small panaceas that get forgotten in short order, in my mind it means they haven't had enough grounding in big picture stuff.

I have been eating only fatty meat, liver, suet, real butter, cheese, heavy cream. My inflammation is 90 percent improved! Auto immune problems the same if not gone. Take a look at how you feel, how your clothes fit, how your level of energy is. Then have a look at your medical labs. Check Dr. Berry on recommended labs for a person on keto -carnivore. You will see definite improvement. Let that be a well-spoken, informed -by-evidence voice in your head. It will educate and silence that “little voice”.

Don’t trust blindly. Follow the research. Another person to listen to his Georgia Ede. Shawn Baker’s site is mostly individual success stories. But listen to the vegetarians too. Both sides are successful mostly for what they don’t eat. I lost 80 lbs on keto, so I’m biased, but keep listening and reading to decide for yourself what’s best for your body. Good luck!

Dr. Westman you’re local to me; I’m eventually going to find a way to have a sit down with you medically someday. I’m day 27 Carnivore and I’m a disabled veteran; still have issues lingering but patience is what I’m understanding is needed. Thanks for pushing America in the right direction; honestly you have done more for this country than any politician. I know you’re humble and don’t like the credit but regardless of your intentions you stood up screaming the truth and now a small portion is listening and I feel compelled to stand up and yell! I’m no doctor and my wife works at chapel hill so I have to be tactful at times but I’ll never shut my mouth on this.

Why not jump right into Carnivore? Do it for 30 days and I know you won’t want to stop. Don’t be afraid, just eat as much yummy meats till you feel full as a goog- keep some extras in the fridge in case you get peckish in the beginning and only cheat either way meat or dairy. You can do this. Down the track if you cheat with
something sugary, like my husband did, it will make you feel sick in the tummy and you won’t want to do it again - jump in - it’s World Carnivore Month 😍

Start slowly, just start reducing carbs a little at a time and replace the carbs with meat and eggs. It might take 30-90 days to make smooth transition to keto/ketovore/carnivore.

On the UA-cam / Dr Berg thing: I was not one of Dr. Berg's subscribers (some of his stuff is a little to woo-woo for me), but his videos used to be suggested to me frequently and I did watch them occasionally. I only became aware of his censoring concerns when I saw Dr. Westman's reaction video about it, and I realized I hadn't seen Dr. Berg's videos pop up in my feed for a long time. I suspect his videos had been reported by other users for whatever reason and his channel might have been affected. I do think I saw fewer keto/carnivore channels generally for awhile, but that seems to have resolved and now I'm seeing all kinds of carnivore channels, including some I've never seen before. I subscribe to both Dr Berry and Dr Westman so their videos were never censored from my feed. Maybe there was a change in how the algorithm tries to guess users' interests, rather than a concerted effort to quash keto or carnivore channels.
When a vegan tells me we don't have fangs and this means we aren't meant to eat meat, I tell them they'd better sit down because I'm gonna show them some pictures of a gorilla's giant fangs, and I'd like them to explain to me what those fangs are for, since we all know gorillas are herbivores. They don't know how to answer that question. Of course their fangs don't prescribe their diet, just as our flat teeth don't mean our GI tract is designed for cellulose.

I'm one of these people that can't have greens. It flares up my chronic sinus inflammation, my nasal polyps swell and I can't smell, taste or breathe anymore. Same with dairy, can't do it. It sucks, but I'd rather breathe, smell and taste. I also suffer from insomnia, periods cramps and I can't lose weight unless I do carnivore. I think I'm a mixture of Neisha and Dr Berry xD need zero carbs + no greens. :(
I keep getting silenced when I try to tell people that are suffering from obesity and diabetes, ect.... about keto and carnivore. It sucks. Every time I go out with my mom, she tells me not to talk about it because it offends people and it does. They look at me like I'm nuts and laugh at me. It's hard to share. :(

So gorillas have a different digestive system than humans I would like to know more about their system and how it differs. Please bring on a veterinarian to talk about their training because I have heard that they get a strong nutritional background. They also use their dietary recommendations to help the animals in their healing process. If we can compare the vets training with the MD perhaps we can influence more nutritional training involved with healing humans,
My health certainly has improved on the carnivore diet. In the 1960 's- my father was a chemical engineer believed in vitamins - I believe taking vitamins helped me somewhat when I was a teenager. My father's independent attitude also helped me to look into diets and experiment trying to find a healthy lifestyle.
Thank you for having Dr. Berry on, he gave me my start in the carnivore diet.
