Great information. I tried the Fenix Fusion a few years back. Not the plus. Getting in them at the top of the hill was as advertised. Super easy and quick. My issue was with comfort. I just couldn’t seem to eliminate pressure points on top of my feet and also had issues with pain on the bottom of my feet. I went back to a traditional binding with a toe cap and it was so much more comfortable. I didn’t even think about the ankle strap height like you mentioned. I wonder if the hybrid version would be more comfortable although some users say they are harder to get into because the toe cap falls down when your boots out. Seems like there is no perfect option. Something will have to be sacrificed.

Thanks for the good words your take. Yes, it is harder in and out, but it has better support/response. Still I prefer good traditional strap bindings.

Have you tried the Flow with something like a Cartel/Union Binding on the front foot and backfoot the Flow? Seems like it would work.

Yes I did a 2 binding test before just to see how my Atlas and Flow rode but I wouldn't do that for daily riding. Atlas was much more responsive.

I want the Nidecker SUPERmatic, but it's sold out everywhere in Large :(

I have the Flow Fenix, and for the most part, I like them. My biggest complaint (not mentioned in this video) is that the "easy entry" (the only reason anyone would choose these) behaves totally differently once there's snow involved, which is stupid. That is, you can set these up to your preference ahead of time or at the lodge or whatever, then, when you get off the lift and there's any wetness/snow introduced, boot entry isn't nearly as easy as it was before. That just pisses me off. I'm told that its because of the EVA foam that becomes kind of sticky when wet and cold (I mean, what?). By contrast, the Supermatics have a slick plate where the foot enters, so when cold and wet, your boot slides in even easier. Duh, Flow. How did you whiff on this?

Hi, I am currently buying new board Nidecker Score 162W, I have an option to get Nidecker Kaon X or Flow Fenix Fusion binding, what would you advice me to get? I love the idea of back entry but I am a bit afraid they won’t be fixed and stiff enough
Also I am currently rocking burton boots in us 11.5, so it is right in the middle of L/XL what do u think would be better binding size, unfortunately I don’t have an option to try on..
    Thx✌️

I personally preferred the Kaon X better and think they are a great binding at that price point. I would only go Flow if you feel easy in/out is critical for you. I'd go XL as their sizing range is pretty liberal. Their XL is more like a Large.

Is it possible to quickly get into flows while sitting? I have to have a very wide stance due to my hip, and I have some arthritis in my ankle so it's kind of difficult for me to balance on one leg with my Burton step-ons, but I can easily sit down and snap in. Wondering if I could do the same, because I would love these for heelside carves.

On a bench? Yes. Sitting in the snow? No. You would have to do it on your knees.

It's been a long time since I rode it. Felt very dead underfoot but had response and support.
