You might be surprised to know the members are only ten months apart in age. The guitarist was born in December 1965, the bass player in March 1966, and the drummer in September 1966.
Namahage has to be among their top ten greatest songs.

Great reaction to a great song! I will be lucky to be seeing them play a show in London in February, and I'm so excited for it!

They are so good. I just got into them a couple of years ago.
They'll be performing for the first time outside Japan in February, with two shows in Germany, and one in London.
Still hoping they'll get to the USA at some point.

Gonna hit them in Berlin on 19th. Yay. Hope they bring some back catalog. Such a pain to get CDs for a reasonable prize. :D

Isu has been shredding guitars for over thirty years. He is an accomplished master. It was interesting to note he and Kanami engaged in a good natured competition on a Japanese children's educational TV show pitting Kanami against Isu in a lead guitar face off. It was all good natured fun and you could see they both liked and respected each other and both have mad skills. But here is the thing. Kanami has been at this for about eight years professionally compared to over 30 and she is viewed as a worthy opponent to the master. She is considered as in his class or very close. I would certainly love to hear Kanami 22 years from now to see where she is at then. Over time sometimes the students become the teachers.

Love that song :) Maybe try The Colour out of Space / 宇宙からの色 next from them \m/
PS: hard 'g' in Ningen, like in "get"

Ahh, my favorite song from them ! :-)
Namahage is an old Japanese tradition (not as common anymore) which is a kind of cross between Christmas and Halloween, some adults dress up as monsters or ghosts with knife or other tool and go door to door scare the kids asking "any naughty kids here ?".
Babymetal Catch Me If You Can might also be partly inspired by this tradition.
As you can hear at the start and near the end of this Ningen Isu song the atmosphere is very dark/scary.
If I'm not mistaken in all those years the drummer is the only member they changed, so not that surprising he might be slightly younger.

The drummer, Nobu, is 53 y/o. The guitar, Wajima, is 54 y/o and the base, Suzuki, is 53 y/o. Nobu has playing with them for these 16 years now.

These guys are great. They are so done to earth as are all of the Japanese groups I know. They are pretty hilarious as well. They even have reaction videos of their own reacting to their own songs of course.. They recently uploaded a video for "Baptism" live or the official video is interesting as well. The bassist has a full head of long hair when it was shot.

Great choice of song! And your expressions are the same as I have whenever I listen to them :) I don't know if they have any plans to visit America, but they are playing their first European shows next year.
